    In this video we go over the story of PayPal since the beginning of the pandemic. Its stock priced reached a high of over $300 giving the payments company a market cap in excess of $350 billion. Since then it has fallen by 75%, giving back more than all of its pandemic gains. We try to make sense of the dramatic moves in PayPal's stock price.

    Paypal was excellent until they started becoming greedy. They restructured the entire platform and started adding terrible policies that screwed over BOTH the consumer and seller. The only saving grace that paypal has is its 'protection' policy.

      "Growth stock" is valued at what people think it's going to be in the future.
      So once a company reaches market saturation and the growth slows , it stops being a growth stock and now it's value is based on profits.
      That can be a huge drop in price

    • @hewhohasnoidentity4377
      @hewhohasnoidentity4377 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Your comment shows a lack of understanding. When a company is growing it is expected to be valued at a higher earnings multiple because it is logical to expect the earnings to rise as the company grows. When a company stops growing at a fast and steady rate then it becomes a different type of investment.
      Large investment firms handling pension accounts, money market funds, and dated index funds and other accounts with restrictions on types of stocks are contractually forced to transition in or out of stocks based on growth, among other technical variables.
      IBM is not going to go out of business this year. It also isn't growing significantly. Tesla will likely have more revenue next year than last year.
      The market is willing to pay a higher multiple for Tesla than IBM. That shouldn't need to be said. PayPal is transitioning to IBM side of being steady and boring rather than the Tesla side of a wild ride that could crash any day or keep growing.

    Ebay still allows Paypal. They just don't let sellers use their own Paypal accounts. Ebay buyers may use their Paypal accounts as one of several options to make payment to EBay, who disperses the funds to sellers. Essentially, Ebay is middle-manning the payments between buyers and sellers.

    The EBay payment service was not an issue regarding the FEE, but more an issue regarding the CONTROL over the payments......with Paypal, all the funds went directly to paypal, and Ebay had to receive payments from sellers for their revenue.
    Now it is Ebay who has ALL THE FUNDS at their disposal, and as I mentioned before, with their 2-4 days "processing" and "on-hold" of any payment at their discretion, they artificially create a BILLION DOLLARS fund at their disposal (because with every payment they release to the seller, new payments go "on old" so this fund is not only always receiving fresh $$, but also allows eBay to have access to more capital, basically being funded by the sellers who are ripped off by this new system.

    Good. I had a large account but closed it when they started getting political and banning people they didn’t like. That’s not appropriate for a payment processor.
    I took an income hit when I got rid of them but have more than recovered since.

      Bravo, these middlemen reckon they have a right to say no. If they accept a fee , in a consistent manner, a contract is formed. Weĺl that's the basis in common law principles or tort law, in 17 different countries. Yet these arseholes reckon it doesn't apply.... and I've been idly watching some of these equal rights laws and hate speech laws...I reckon there is a way to set this up .....fark yeah

    • @benevolentnick1
      @benevolentnick1 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I may in fact use my pp to get banned, send some new tcs to a automated email addy, then take em to debtors court for non payment. I.e each time I try use their service, and if they havn5 objected to my fee structure email after 90 days ...they are fair game. Tried it a few times mainly on credit reporting and debt recovery firms. Use their bs low life tactics against them

    • @benevolentnick1

      You will be amazed at how easy it is to inflict so much pain and anguish, especially if they try argue it in court, cause that shite is expensive for them especially when my rate card is the same as two of their QCs. And after they run out of things to say, present their business with a winding up notice... the look on their faces never gets old. And it literally as simple as that. Quote one of the hundreds if not 000s of case law examples, 700 years + 17 jurisdictoons its almost limitless. But its not just debtors/tort/common law, its contract law, and that seems to be the legal hot topic everywhere for awhile now. But having a clause that has a survivability element, you could do it minimum of 3 times. its real bonanza time. My research leads me to believe the only real concern is how much the small claims or debtors court can address at any time- maybe for Nickles ...have to think that thru...ermmm doesn't matter if its nickles its the precedent...
      Did it to patreon as well. Not the court part tho. And after what visa and Mastercard did to those innocent Russians. They will get some soon enough....getting even pays very well... heck i don't know why I ever stopped doing it... I know why cause I've been focused on censorship..thank you. Writing this has solved a really big issue for me. 4 years work in fact, when I have been going about it the wrong way...blond moment. Cheers bro thank you for my rant responding to your fine observation.

    I'm not so convinced the 75% decline was justified as I am skeptical that the 150% valuation growth was justified. Let's face it: PayPal is just a payment medium. That particular wheel has already been invented several times.
