I only use bio advanced 5 in 1. Put it on any season, even in summer… just water it, will not burn lawn and it actually make the grass greener + it kills crabgrass.

I’m in Florida with St Augustine grass. I use the purple top but Crabgrass still comes through. It doesn’t have the crabgrass killer like your orange top. I just added Scott’s crabgrass Halt today. Then realized it was a pre emergent. Oh well, you live and learn. It’s harder to kill weeds in St Augustine because it’s a type of weed itself.
Try another brand called Image Southern Lawn but that spectracide purple top does work you may have to do multiple treatments but it can get it done. Don't give up
Spectracide products are pretty good, i use the insect granular too, good content👍⛳️.

@LawnAmateur I know, but I wanted to. You're welcome. I laid everything down this morning using a non ironic surfactant that I bought prior to watching you with the dawn; more expensive, believe me. Anyways! Hopefully, this will get rid of some of the crabgrass that took over over my backyard 😒
sprayed some the other day, it can take a few days or so to see it work, but it definitely does the job

For some reason in my area (NWF) you have to order the orange spectricide with crabgrass preventer from Lowes and I used it in my back yard a day ago and it's already in kill mode. I love the plug and play herbicides bcuz mixing chemicals can be tricky. Bermuda grass is like nats at a picnic very irritating if you put work in your yard.
The grab and go herbicides are the best, especially for people who don't want to mix anything. You can just get straight to work

🤣🤣🤦🏾♂️. More than likely you have a mixed variety lawn of fescue, ryegrass, and Kentucky bluegrass. Keep cutting the lawn regularly, treating weeds, fertilizing and watering that'll improve your overall lawn health. Thank you any questions feel free to ask

I just sprayed my first application of this stuff on Monday. It seems have worked fairly well except for some white weeds I can’t identify.
I would give it some time it may take a little longer to break those down.

Most of the time it depends on where you live. Up north normally cool season grass. South warm season grass with the exception of the transition zones they can have cool or warm season grasses
Thank you for the helpful video. Just moved into a new home, it looks like the yard has at least two different types of grass ( Kentucky Bluegrass and Bermunda is my best guess) and it is covered in SEVERAL types of weed. I was planning to use the orange top but do you have any tips for yards that doesn't have one type of grass? At some point, I think I will need to reno the yard but for now I just want to get some control on what is there. Thank you!
Thank you. Where are you located at? This orange top will definitely help get those weeds under control. A reno will be necessary if you want all one type of grass in the yard.

I saw your previous videos and sprayed the orange top on my st agustine 1 week ago. I hope I didn’t ruin it more lol but the Bermuda seems to be fine still. Do you recommend a second application? If yes when? I had very large weeds and had to pull most by hand but the rest just got sprayed on. I have a lawn full of weeds and i love your lawn! ❤

Yea St Augustine is tricky only use the purple top spectracide on it. On the Bermuda If you need a second application wait 14 days after the first application to reapply. Thank you

Spectricide works but takes 4 days or more to see results and weeds still are there just killed still have to pull out dead weeds
My concern with hose end sprayers in general is contamination of the hose. Won't use ac 3yr old may drink from hose or contamination of water into the pool. Comments welcome. Thanks for the video

After spring, the weed killer when would you seed/fertilize the lawn? What are the correct steps to getting a better lawn?
You can seed about 7-10 days after killing the weeds.
I use spectricide every year, I know there are stronger a better products out there but I stick to spectricide as it’s inexpensive and super easy to use!

Surfactant is something o never heard of and had to Google what exactly you meant
Surfactants help alot with the killing ability of the weed killers
hey Darryl I'm It's fanatical of my lawn Is it good to put this on right after a cut like 2 days after a cut and then just spray your whole lawn and does it help bring your lawn also my lawn is like a light green I want a dark green
You can spray this on the lawn about 2 days after a cut that will be fine and if you want your lawn to darken up you have to start fertilizing your lawn. That'll feed it and make it start to produce that dark green look

Wait 14 days if you need a second application. When you spray the weeds let the product sit on the weeds for 3 days then mow the grass and bag all clippings. That should do it
How much should you use if your water hose does reach and you need to use a hand sprayer? Spectracide to water ratio?
It depends on the size of the hand can 1 gallon, 2 gallon ect but its about 5 oz per gallon of water
When is it best to use this if I plan on applying the triple action lawn care?
You can apply this anytime weeds are actively growing. And temps are between 60-85 degrees
When is it the best time to spray your lawn meaning time of day?
There's really no best time. I spray whenever I get a chance morning, afternoon or evening before sun goes down. Its all about your comfort in spraying. Just make sure there's no rain in your forecast to make sure the product gets to dry on the lawn properly.

You spoke about a product to kill everything. I have bermuds grass and weeds in my mulch beds. What do you recommended?
You want to use Spectracide Weed and Grass killer it comes in a White bottle and a Black Bottle. I recommend the black bottle it will kill weeds for 6 up to months. But white bottle will work fine.

I’m planning to use the hose end spray product this weekend, but it’s been hot and dry in the Midwest. The instructions says to water 24 hrs before and 24 hrs after, if the weather has been dry and hot. I don’t have a lot of weeds, but enough that spot spraying would be less ideal. How soon after using this product can I put down Scott’s Turf Builder Lawn Food?
You can use the lawn food about 4-5 days after

You shouldn't spray the hose end sprayer more than 2 times in a season over the whole lawn but You can spot spray weeds directly any time you want.

I only blanket spray If I have a bunch of weeds. One treatment is pretty much all you need if you do it right the first time. But in case you have really bad weeds a second application can be done 14 days later.

got my big box store hose sprayer!! I just hate to spend 50 on a cheap ass plastic spreader, what a rip off. and thats the little one.
Yea I agree. I actually purchased this spreader for $7 a few years back during the end of the season sale alot of the big box stores have to get rid of lawn products. That's how I buy majority of my products and just store them until next season.
What does the soap do ?
The soap helps the product stick better to the weeds and eat away at the wax coating on the weeds making the product work better

You can wait about 5-7 days after spraying the crabgrass to apply fertilizer

That depends on where you live most of time. Up north is more of cool season lawn territory and south is more warm season grass territory. But you can get cool season grass in some southern states depending on if you're in a transition zone.
Having hard time with wild violet over taking lawn. Mostly because off neighbors yards. Anyone find anything that helps with the wild violet? Many products say they will but none tried have worked.

I don't think it can handle full grown thistle. You maybe need a stronger grade of chemical

@Dmenace12314 I think the purple bottle can be used on Bahia grass. If you use this orange top on the Bahia grass try it on a small section off to the side to see how the grass reacts to it first. Bahia grass is tricky
Doesn’t work on crab grass or dallis

@@LawnAmateur I sprayed twice with the hose and it killed all my clovers. The crab grass was still standing tall. Couple hours ago I did a spot treatment with the regular sprayer. I’ll let you know if it works out or if my lawn dies.

I can't tell. i have 3 types of grass, one shinney sharp thick, 2nd, moss grass like fur hair and 3rd is tiny tiny thin grass. i have ton o clovers weed. how do i fix the problem :) do you have a discord or twitter maybe I can send a picture.

Hey LA I just found your channel a few weeks ago and subscribe because you have excellent content which made me realize I have to step my game up, your grass is outstanding 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾. Now my grass doesn’t look bad and I don’t have many weeds in my yard but i need it looking like yours 😂. I live between two (2) neighbors who don’t put anything down at all but I see a few weeds trying to creep over so I’m gonna try your method with the Spectracide which isn’t sold in New York by the way, So off I go to Danbury, Ct. 45 mins away to make my purchase @ Home Depot. Gonna apply this evening before sundown when it’s a little cooler. I will keep you posted as to my results. 👊🏾
