your timing is 100 times better than mine.. the brothers were all about timing.. amazing how in sync they were.. and how they would push things with Phil.. really is what makes them special.. too bad i was not born with better timing.. I have to work for everything i do..
G’day, MalP. Awesome playing! The show’s called ‘Countdown’ and was an Aussie institution in the 70s - everyone watched it. As for the G string, I believe Mal didn’t always start off with such heavy strings but gradually got there as his right hand got more and more aggressive and his tuning would suffer live. I’m sure I read that once. (If you want a laugh, google Iggy Pop’s appearance on Countdown. He was as high as kite.) Great lesson!
I see you worked on the picking skills. Thanks man. Dude I can see Mal right now, give me a filtertron and a dimed plexy and we’re gonna play fucking rock n roll. Lemmy would be proud. lol and I bet he was!
Wow, that's... that's a hard one... thanks for uploading, I will learn that... I don't know how did you learn it, you're very talented ! This thing is just so damn sick, there is no other words ! I mean, I never need to warm up my fingers before playing ( even Beating Around The Bush ), but this one... I needed 10 mins of warm up for each hand ! The licks are the most difficult things, I think I need to watch that over and over and to play it many times to know it and play it like you. Also, I don't really understand the E string slide, can you explain please ? Thanks again for the great lesson ! 🔥 ( My fingers : 👹)
Hopefully I can explain this one better than I can play it. A few timing issues for sure. Cheers!!
It's harder to play than it looks.
Man…all things considered, your timing isn’t bad. That tune is a banger!
Showing Malcolm's semi lead abilities is beautiful!
It does sound better if you have a cross dressed lead singer in the same room, but I am not complaining about this.
Another fantastic lesson.
LMAO! Indeed!
👏

I'll have to check that out! Make sense he didn't use that wound G..so much easier to play on a set of "normal" 10's or 11's.
Australian tv show called Count down... 6pm Sunday night... 🇭🇲🦘
Very well done sir, you played it with a wound G which is impressive, I believe Mal recorded it with an unwound G at the time so great job🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Yeah man the wound G makes it a lot harder that’s for sure. I wasn’t sure if he used a wound G but what you said makes perfect sense.
