Oh god I know!!! Its always been my dream to find one lol. Or even better run into a mystery. Seriously, how does she manage to just run into a mystery EVERYWHERE she goes.
Before this video came out, I actually emailed HER about what happened to Bob (because I rewatched all of Arglefumph's walkthrough and realized we never got an answer about it). I got an answer saying that the next morning they went out and found Bob and that he's the horse Nancy's riding in the picture at the end. YAY, BOB! :D #closureforbob2017
Lol, agreed. But perhaps they didn't want to make her uncomfortable? Despite her being 18, she is virtually alone with three guys... Just a thought, though. I like that Dave tips his hat. ;)
omg, I remember wanting to date Dave SO BAD. I even went back to a previously saved game so I could try all my reply options 😂😂 12 year old me was just heartbroken (and every time I've played it since lol)
There's a fun glitch at the end where Shorty says "Only one room away, Nancy!" and if you walk into another room, the audio starts over and I think the timer for him going through the last room resets, so you can just spin in a circle and hear him say it over and over again.
I have a comment about the electrician's manual. Sure it's never verbally explained by anyone, but the culprits needed it to cut the wire on the second night at Shadow Ranch without injuring themselves. Also the paper Shorty's holding at the end of the game, they're the directions for the cliff dwellings maze. They have to be if he had to read the paper in order to know to go through the door with the green marker.
The electricians manual is covered in glow dust because the co-culprits spilled it on the book. Also, glow dust and the electricians manual are both elements of the same night's horse haunt
Out of all the horse questions Tex asks you before you're allowed to ride, I'm pretty sure I didn't learn all of them (definitely not the mule or who bred the appaloosas) during my SIX YEARS of horseback riding. I mean, yeah, I learned all the parts of a horse and the colors because the stable had me groom the horse I was riding before AND after riding (that and horses were and still are a huge special interest of mine), and how to put together a bridle, and how to feed horses. Then again, I took riding lessons for years AND went to horse camp several times in which we did some of the care tasks. Would I expect someone to be able to convert hands to feet/inches off the top of their head? No, I could never do that even when I was doing riding. I'd expect them to know what to do if they lose control of the horse while riding, how to properly tie a horse (no horse I've met would stay in the same spot for THAT long), stuff they'd actually use. Also, Nancy does not groom the horses after taking the saddle off. Horses sweat. You need to brush their coats and pick out their hooves after you go riding (that's where the frog question would've come in handy). If the horses I rode got sweaty under a small English saddle after about an hour of riding in the midwest, indoors, then those horses should be DRENCHED. Never really thought about it much up until now.
I always thought it was funny that Nancy took a picture of Dave from behind while he was dealing with her luggage at the airport. What a stalker lol. Also I always thought it looked like Dave was peeing on the chicken coop
Although it's presented as a bad thing, an amateur is a person who doesn't get paid for doing a job or profession. No one ever pays Nancy, so the title is there to stay.
Agreed! It goes back to the word 'amateur' coming from the word for love. An amateur is someone who does stuff for love. Amateur theatre, for example, is performed by people who are doing it for the love of acting. So someone who's an absolutely pro can do whatever they're paid to do for free, and they'd be an amateur. A lawyer who takes a case pro bono is an amateur, as long as they're doing the case because they love doing their job. Nancy loves puzzles, so she's an amateur detective; and, as you say, the fact that she doesn't get paid marks the difference.
There's no salt in that cake recipe, which is another problem. I've made the cake and it tasted pretty bleh, so I added salt the next time I made it and it was way better. What kind of cake recipe doesn't include salt??
I made it one time. It was pretty plain and I haven't made it again. The thing I remember most about it is that the recipe in-game is *huge*. Like nobody pours all that in a single cake pan.
I definitely agree with the one where Nancy doesn't save any of Dirk's letters or clues, in case they needed to be re-read. The game design also didn't allow for important instructions (like the code key) to be visible while you're decoding. I sometimes I don't finish games because I get stuck. If the player is just wandering around since one of the arrowheads are missing, or you don't realize to put the random tuning fork box on the counter, a new hint of some kind should be triggered. At one point, the "journal" told me to go back to the ranch and rest when an arrowhead still needed to be picked up at Cougar Bend. Next game, I guess I'll play on Junior. I wanted to change back halfway through but couldn't.
That’s kinda what I don’t understand honestly...people call her up sometimes and ask her to solve their mystery’s, yet she doesn’t get paid? She’s pretty much a professional at this point and would be totally justified if she were to start charging for these near death experiences, but she...doesn’t.
I always kind of thought it had to do with sewing (she used to own/run a dress shop, even if she didn't make the dresses sold there) or maybe knitting. She seems like the kind of woman to do those kinds of crafts.
Thanks for the upload! This was the second Nancy Drew game I played but it has always been my favorite of the earlier set. I completely agree with the 25 point deduction regarding the inability to date Dave.
94. well if you ask Shorty on Day 3 if you can have a piece he does bring up that "Tex Really liked it by the way" 109: CATTLE FEED 118: Unless it has something to do with the powerlines
I went back and replayed Day Three, based on people's comments here, and I _still_ can't get anyone to talk about Tex's birthday! I am so sad. The manual MIGHT be related to the power line being cut, except you don't need a manual for that. You just need a pair of scissors. Nancy was watching the power line get cut, too. How did the culprit do that, while NOT being visible?
The only way I get a comment is if the very first thing on day three Nancy looks at the cake. It will be almost entirely gone and Shorty will say Tex liked it. I find if you do ANYTHING else first it doesn't happen.
When Nancy gets a game over sequence for picking unripe vegetables, Uncle Ed says they are going to get scurvy. The vegetables that are grown on the ranch don't have enough vitamin C to prevent scurvy - citrus fruits do.
I saw that recommended as something to mark against the game, but, um...that would have required me to research what scurvy is, so I just left it out. Feel free to mark "too lazy to do research" against me.
I just found this video. Absolutely true and hilarious! Thanks! One more I'd like to add: why do all the ranch hands sound like they're from Texas or Alabama or Tennessee? I've lived in Arizona my entire life and the only people I know who sound like those ranch hands moved here from one of the states I mentioned previously.
I've got a couple of sins to add. First of all, why are these country boys letting Nancy, a girl who has never been much exposed to country life, do all of these chores BY HERSELF, especially if that would mean putting the lives of the animals in jeopardy? There is no way practical-minded cowboy would let an inexperienced teenager, even if she is technically of adult age, do all of these chores with no supervision, whatsoever. Finally, I would just like to point out a pretty disgusting fact when it comes to chickens. You know that moment in the game when the egg basket breaks and the eggs get cracked? You're not supposed to let eggs break in the chicken coop, or.... the chickens will eat them. Yeah, no joke, they will actually eat any of their own eggs that have been cracked open. I am a farm girl, and I did not know this until my family had recently got chickens. Anyway, this means that Nancy would also have gotten into trouble because of this one mishap. That's my two cents on the matter. Also, the pink stuff in the game is apparently cow feed.
I take notes during my first playthrough of the game, then type up all the puzzle solutions/necessary things on a small slip of paper for replays. Sometimes, though, I'll put the paper aside and do things the old-fashioned way.
I took notes in the early games, when they sent you a Nancy Drew notebook with each game. After Nancy starts using a journal, I only made notes for a few things per game. Most of them on the same sheet of paper.
Blue W that would be sad but a plot twist hehe. I always thought they needed to make a game where it's Nancy and Ned's wedding day and something horrible happens. That would be quite interesting.
In Water's Edge I think you can have Dave as your phone background AND you can't call Ned. Which makes me think they're going through tough times right then.
The pink stuff in the bin is some sort of nutritional feed, for cows if I remember correctly. There's a bag or a poster around, but I don't recall if you can actually look at it. It's really just a useless thing that you never get any context for, and is probably just there to trick you into poisoning the horses with pink foam.
You've made it to number ten! Congratulations!! Side note: you should include links to previous videos in the description or at the end so that people who stumble across this video for the first time can find your other EWW ND videos and watch them all.
Did you know that if you solve the basket puzzle when those two eggs that are supposed to tip you off that the basket is broken are in the same room/scene you can pick up the eggs and they will magically fall out of the fixed hole in the basket?
Did no one notice that it totally looked/sounded like Dave was peeing? There was a sound of a stream or wind or something in the background with his back turned around and it totally looked like that, couldn't help laughing every time Nancy went to talk to him...
