      Yes mate, I’m always browsing through your videos.
      It’s given me the confidence to tackle a few small jobs that I’d otherwise have bottled out of.
      And they’ve actually turned out not too bad, nothing in your league, just a few little tender repairs.

    This was an eye opener, I was using a sponge float all wrong! So I tried my hand at skimming, not through choice though. My wife isn't well so I can't have unknown ppl in the house. Of course it was a disaster, but I went from hating it, to liking it, simply because I can see what mistakes I am making, and correcting it the next time and so on. However there is one major mistake I made that may or may not have f*cked it all, and that is letting it dry before doing the second coat. So now I'm researching what the best thing to do is. I'm hoping wetting the shit out of the wall and applying the final coat will be ok, failing that it's back to brick and starting again. Either way vids like this show me way round problems I create through lack of knowledge and experience.

    a noobie question for you, if you sponge float the first coat (an interesting approach as it removes some of the time acquired skill needed getting a wonkie wall flat), why don't you speed skim that first coat ? won't it fatten and compress the first coat ? (with the added bonus of removing the chances of the sponge float lines setting).
    long winded, but hope you get my drift. cheers !

      @macplastering  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      could work well for sure mate if your going to be a little slower getting second coat one but thing is you want to get onto it before it gets to dry also as you want them to bond but yes nice input buddy might do that on the next one and show that technique thanks for watching and input buddy :)
