    Dear friend, I have the switchbot lock with the first-generation hub.
    I consider replacing the hub to the second generation Hub2 for adding my switchbot lock support to the apple home support.
    Also, I interested buying Aqara G4 Doorbell (which is also support the Apple home) My question is if I can combine both products to work together ???
    I mean, the moment someone rings the Aqara G4 Doorbell, I will be able to get notification from the apple home app, watch the G4 camera & on the same Apple screen app to open the switchbot lock for opening the door ?
    I watched the Aqara promotional video and saw that there is an option on both Aqara products (Aqara lock u200 & Aqara G4 Doorbell). Here's the Aqara promotional video, at the 16-second mark th-cam.com/video/lWadY9hohJA/w-d-xo.html
    I'll be glad if know what you think about my idea

    I had an analogous situation. I have two Schlage Encode Plus locks on my back door and my detached garage. Due to the geometry of the front door the Schlage lock would not fit. I purchased an Aqara U200 to place on that door. Works very well. Similar comments. Easy to install. A bit noisy but that is not a problem. Just replacing the thumb turn it fit perfectly on the door. Works very well. I put a Aqara sensor on the door and lock it with a HomeKit automation. Works every time. I agree the getting the keypad back off is not intuitive. Having to slide while pressing the locking tab is just not obvious. Took me a while to figure it out. An arrow molded in or a bit more explicit in their installation video would help a lot. Overall, a good product and it meets my need to automate the lock on my door.

      Happy to hear you are enjoying the U200. I agree it is a bit loud, but I’m glad there is a feature to slow it down in the Aqara app that does make it a bit more quiet :)

      The lock itself is at 95% battery without charging it, and the keypad says full battery. :)
      Battery is going great

    Can you do a video of adding it to Home Assistant please. I tried adding it a few times but it doesn't work. I put it into pairing mode and scan the matter QR code also typed in the code to see if that works, but it still won't add to my HA. I haven't got any apple device, and am just running my Home Assistant on a mini pc. Great Videos as always.

      Thanks! The U200 uses thread to connect to HA. So you would need a thread adapter like the SkyConnect to allow HA to see your lock.

      @iGageit Thanks for the reply. I got a sonoff dongle E connected to mine's. Will I need to get a separate dongle to connect it via thread/matter ?

      @craigsamuels7895 yes! I think the name changed, but try looking at nabucasa website (the people who made HA) and look for their $30 thread dongle.

    What are your thoughts if someone rips the keypad and steals it?

    • @iGageit
      @iGageit  24 วันที่ผ่านมา

      The keypad does not work without the lock. So it’s like you stealing one AirPod without the case

      Also, this keypad is stuck very well to the door. If someone was actively trying to see it, my video doorbell would see and my robot drone army would be launched ;)

    Hi great video. I to just purchased the U200 everything went ok for the install and connected it to HomeKit. I have one issue the lock works opposite of what it says. Says unlock but it is locked. I have deleted it and reset the lock but no luck. Just wondering if anybody has had the same issue?

      Did you calibrate it? Maybe you somehow installed it backwards?

    I have a U200 and a Hub M3 installed at home, and I can say that I have never been able to pair them! I paired them once with the Apple Home Kit, because I have an Apple TV 4K, but when I tried again I could not do it again. The Matter / Thread technology in this equipment needs "improvements". IPv6 checked, all possible and imaginary settings and this crap does not synchronize, everything was reported to the mediocre Aqara support line and they do not solve anything. 3 Weeks and more than 100 attempts and nothing. If the lock is used without remote resource, it just does its job decently. Today I put everything in a box and sent it back to Amazon, I'm going for the Nuki 4 Pro. My patience has limits.

      Sorry to hear that. I did not use the m3 hub. Just connected it to HomeKit and Home Assistant directly and it’s working flawlessly for me.

    Hi, is HomeKey working without any hub? Without Aqara M3, HomePod or Apple TV?

    • @iGageit
      @iGageit  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      For homekey to work you need a AppleTV, or HomePod hub to handle that
