No, nothing like that. Actually, he said that he doesn’t want it to stop. It’s because he is suffering from depression, and work also gets to him. I’m sure if he manages to get over it, he would continue/finish the saga.

Real talk, I think if it weren't for Bowser's metal Power up, that last fire attack Mario shot at him would have most likely one-shoted him. He survived because fire is not very effective against metal, you know.
