  • When off-road, it is inevitable that you’ll encounter obstacles that could potentially inflict expensive damage on your differential. ARB’s differential cover provides increased protection over factory covers, giving you peace of mind to tackle more challenging terrain.
    Each cover is manufactured from high tensile nodule iron to protect the ring and pinion set while computer optimized cross bracing increases the structural integrity of the entire axle.
    ARB differential covers are powder coated either red or black, CNC machined, then clear coated for a durable, professional, long lasting finish.

    Amazing video, thank you, particularly showing the method you used to indicate the proper fill level for the dipstick. I'll be putting an ARB cover on my Xterra rear diff real soon and this video helps out!

    there has been mention that the ARB cover has a different volume amount than the stock cover. if you want to know for sure then before putting it on the vehicle install the ARB plug and dipstick then fill it with water then measure the volume. Do the same with your stock cover then compare.

    Nice video! You do realize however, that the plug in your old differential cover is NOT magnetic. The plug that you opted not to pull on the bottom of your axel has the magnet on it... and probably fine debris that is still stuck to it...
    I am looking to add the ARB covers to my JK and appreciate your view of this product.

    Factory gasket looks like the Lube Locker gasket, yes they are re useable. I find it odd factory is using these usually they install with silicone.

    Thank you for the video, do you have the amount of oil that goes in front and rear. I put two in the back and 1 1/2 in the front and I am over the lines. Thank you for any help

    I have a question about the dipstick marking. You stated that the measurement was 1 1/16 inch. Is that measurement for when the dipstick was screwed all the way in, or is that the measurement with the stick just placed into the hole and not screwed in. Just in case that was not clear, If you use that measurement and you want to check the level, do you just insert the stick or screw it in to get the proper fill level. Thanks. I hope you are able to answer this, as I cannot find it anywhere.

    • @LetsGoJT
      @LetsGoJT  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That was screwed in all the way. You can measure it your own way if you need like I did with a straight edge. But I had it screwed In and that's what I came up with. Hope this helps.

    Would it be advisable to make the dipstick mark on the dipstick when it is tightened down to the torque spec first? Does it make a difference?

    Just out of Curiosity.. Where I find Fluid Capacities it says 2.18 pts =35 oz front and 3.06 pts = 49 oz rear. You mentioned that you put 2 qts front and 2 qts rear. Where did that fall in the mark on the dip stick?

    • @LetsGoJT
      @LetsGoJT  ปีที่แล้ว

      I just made a mark on the dipstick and filled it to there. Zero issues. I'm sure there's a more accurate way to do it but that's what I did.

    Are these covers from a new design? I found mostly the gauge is on the other side of the bulge, which might be too close to the lock of the locking differential...

    I just got a new 2021 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Willy's JL with limited slip rear diff, when looking at ARB web-site it shows a couple different covers for different axles.......how can I tell what's on my Willy's? Thanks for sharing.

      So if your ordering direct you should be able to select either your diff and gears or give 4wp a call and they can make sure you got the right ones.

    Need your help! why is the gauge stick on the left of the lump while most webs only offer ARB covers with a stick on the right side of the lump? really warrying about the internal stick has a contact with the locking dick of my Rubi's looking differential.

      Nice, thanks. Replaced the rear cover today; the trackbar on my JLR was blocking the top bolts so it took some time to get off.
      I also added 2 quarts of Royal purp 75w90, it seemed to go up to the line I made (which was 1.0625 - 1.125 inches). after driving it, did you need to add or remove gear oil?
      thanks for the input, I used your video as a guide to do mine!

    • @LetsGoJT

      No they have subtle differences. They are stamped front and rear though so you don't mess up

    1) The color of that fluid was absolutely terrible in the rear. Front looked great.
    2) Why would you re-use that gasket? if the new diff cover has drain plugs and all in it why risk having to take it back off for not putting on a new $20 gasket?
    3) A torx bit in a hex head... really...
