This might also point to the 10th Doctor's depression about regeneration in The End of Time. If everything falls into place, he had just met the 11th Doctor and seen the Time War again. He sort of doesn't like his 400 or so year older self for something to do with these events. Assuming he knows who he meets is the 11th Doctor, as oppose to just a future Doctor. His denial kicking in in the 11th Hour on seeing himself for the first time. Maybe that's why he tried spo hard to be a madman in a box while he's with Amy. To have happy memories until these days he knew were coming happened.

Then when's he's standing in the TARDIS all alone after leaving behind his love and wiping the mind of his best friend he really looks torn and he totally has flat hair then,
They say in the beginning "400 years". The 11th Doctor is 1200 years old. At the time of Donna, the 10th was around 907. Meaning that whatever they're talking about took place before Donna Noble.
Because of all the pain the Doctor will be going through between the past Doctor's time up towards the Eleventh. It may be entertainment, but it's like salting a barely healed wound.
