We make it in my country, Uruguay, we call it zapallo en almíbar (squash in syrup), and I had never found any other cuisine that prepares it the same way with lime (we use quicklime stone), and we don't use rose water. This is so very cool.
we make it in Armenia, i grew up my mom making this every year, however she did not use rose water but everything else is the same way, and we use this to drink tea. You bite a small peace and sip your tea.
