దగ్గు మందు లో ఆల్కాహాల్ ఎందుకు కలుపుతారు ?
ఆల్కహాలు ద్వార మత్తు కలుగుతుంది, అప్పుడు ఆ స్థితిలో ఉన్న బ్యాక్టీరియా ను సమూలముగా మందు ద్వార నాశనము చేయవచ్చు అలాగే నిద్రలో కూడ మందు బాగా పని చేస్తుంది, మత్తులో ఈ క్రిములు స్పెరెడ్డు అవవు, బాడీ రెస్టులో ఉన్నప్పుడు ఆంటిబాడీలు బాగా పనిచేస్తాయి !
సాధారణ దగ్గు కు వాడే మందులో antitussive,carminative గుణాల కోసం కర్పూరం మరియి ఇతర సహజ మూలికలు వంటివి వాడతారు. ఐతే ఇక్కడ సమస్య ఏమిటంటే ఇవి నీటిలో పూర్తిగా కరగవు. ఆల్కాహాల్ కి ఆ శక్తి వుంది కాబట్టి సోల్యూబుల్ ఏజెంట్ గా వాడతారు .
ఇక రెండవది ఏమంటే, మిస్కిబిలిటీ .
మిస్కిబిలిటీ అంటే ఒక ద్రావణo మరో ద్రావణంలో చక్కగా కలిసిపోయే గుణం. ఉదాహరణకి పాలూ నీళ్ళలా. అలా కానివి నీళ్ళు నూనె అనుకోవచ్చు.ఆల్కాహాల్ హైడ్రో ఆక్సీ వర్గానికి చెందడం వల్ల సోల్యుబులిటీ (కరిగించుకునే గుణం) పెరుగుతుంది.
మూడవది చిక్కదనం.
ఇది చక్కర (సుక్రోస్) వంటివి అధికంగా ఉన్న దగ్గు మందులో కన్సిస్టెన్సీ ( చిక్కదనం ) సమంగా ఉండటానికీ పైగా ఆ చెక్కెర గడ్డకట్టకుండా ఉండటానికీ ఉపయోగపడుతుంది.
ఇక నాలుగవది ఏమిటంటే, చెక్కర అధికంగా ఉండే ద్రావకం అవడం వల్ల బూజు పట్టే అవకాశం మెండు. ఇలా ఎక్కువ కాలం నిల్వ ఉంచాలంటే ఆల్కాహాలే శరణ్యం.
ఇక నిలువ చేయడానికీ, మిగతా మూలికల మిశ్రమాలు కరగటానికీ, బూజు గట్రా పట్టకుండా ఉండడానికే కాక రోగికి చక్కటి నిద్ర పట్టించే గుణం( సెడేటివ్ నేచర్ ) కూడా ఆల్కాహాల్కి ఉండడం వల్లనే దగ్గు మందుల్లో కలుపుతారు
