Good morning Tom, another great video. Nice demo and comparison. I think you are fortunate to have both. The track loader excells at what it was built for. And the tractor is versatile. Have a great weekend, Ben 😎👍
You are 100% correct Ben ! The fact that we do so much dirt work developing our property. It is a necessity for us at the current moment, but once we get established might not need it as much 👍
I had a tractor for a year before I sold it and bought the skid steer. The tractor was great for what it was made for. I used it often helping my friend with his 5 acre garden. It wasn't what I needed in the wood lot or for the land clearing side of our business though. The tires made it difficult to get into some areas of the woods. And most of the attachments are designed to go on the rear of the tractor, which meant I was always turning my head to see behind me. If I could've, I would have kept the tractor and the skid steer. However for what we do the skid steer is the way to go for us. In your situation, I would recommend keeping both of them, especially once your farm really gets rolling.
I appreciate the input there’s nothing worse than constantly turning around so I know what you’re talking about there. I love having all of the equipment it’s just pain in the butt, keeping it all running, especially with all of this emission stuff. 😆
For dirt work it’s no comparison skid steer all the way . I’ve always had a tractor so if I had to choose one or the other to buy the tractor gets the win .
This is a great comparison! I struggled with this myself when I had to make a difficult decision to keep the bobcat or buy a tractor. The tractor does many things well enough, but the skid steer does a few things great. Both are purpose built tools (toys 😀). I went with a subcompact tractor for the versatility and endless attachments. I started to realize I was getting a little crazy when I was looking at backhoe attachments for the skid steer
Haha. I had to run the tractor down the road last year. I was impressed how fast it’s geared. Pretty sure it was doing over 20 some miles per hour. That’s fast enough for me with those big lobby, tires and no suspension.
Hello Tom! This is a widely discussed topic of coarse. I think for me because of what you can get for the price I would go with a tractor. I have discussed this with a lot of people for myself for a future purchase. Definitely pros and cons with both machines. Take care👍🏻👍🏻
Good Morning Sir, that is a fast truck 👍😇👌OUTSTANDING INFORMATIVE VIDEO SIR 🧐👍👍Very Nice day that you have Sir 🌞👌👍Fantastic Demonstration Sir 😇👌👍💪Great Analyst After Demos 👍👌😇Keep Up Your OUTSTANDING Work and Videos Sir Cheers 😇👌👍🍻
It’s great having all the equipment as long as it stays running it’s pretty expensive when stuff starts breaking down specially, with all this emissions stuff🤞🏻
Good morning Tom , the skid steer would be the ultimate machine but once you worked the tractor enough to understand it limitations , a person could figure out how to get the job done by working around those limitations !!!
Great compassion Tom. I like these kind of videos. Me personally. Tractor all the way for me. I’m surprised in a way the skid steer weighs that much more than the tractor. But the skid steer is meant more for lifting. What is the lifting power of each. ? Tractor has options for rear attachments. 👍🏻 My son in law just bought a skid steer, Cat model 70 hp engine. He’s getting into landscaping work. He has 35hp new holland tractor with loader. He also bought a while a while ago a bobcat mini excavator. I think 60 hp. Thanks for the video Tom. 👍🏻👍🏻👋👋
Thanks buddy the skid steer is much better for grading dirt, but I feel that particular model is a little underpowered for the weight of the machine. It’s good on flat terrain, but once you start getting into elevations, it really lacks power.
One thing that is often overlooked in the tractor vs skid steer is the size of each. I can fit a skid steer in a lot more places than I can a tractor due to turning and sheer size. You also kinda answered your own question at the end. Immediately hopped in the skid steer to finish the job. A tractor is a Gerber Multitool in my opinion. It does a lot of things good enough.
Great video. If you can only have one and have fields, mowing and hay, the tractor is what should have. For me, the CTL would be the way to go. Faster, safer, smaller, no tires to puncture etc. My hills are not good for the tractor. The rocks shred the tires. The Visibility is better into your bucket on the CTL as well. Now, if you need a digger as well...... that is where the tractor can shine with the TLB setup. CTL and MiniEX would be my dream machines!
More equipment the better !! I feal it depends on the property . On my place a tracked skid steer is desperately needed and have yet to fill the position.
Hey, what’s up buddy I think we’re like 14 months in had a couple videos do really well. The one short went viral and got us a ton of subscribers it’s weirdo they don’t really watch the videos only shorts. 🤷🏻♂️🤣
The one question that matters is are you gonna need it to drive into a barn to clean it out for animals if you’re not driving it in to a barn for animals a tractor you would never wanna steer to do farm work

I’ve seen your tractor on your channel several times very nice. Is that a PowerStar or workmaster?
Good morning Tom. ☕️☕️
Great video and all great points you made
👍🏻🇺🇸
Good morning! And thank you !

Haha. Yea I agree with you now that the construction of your house is complete a tractor is perfect to maintain the property👍
Very nice comparison and it’s nice to have both. I think that you would race them side by side as a final comparison 😁

Yeah, I agree a tractor definitely would be the best for your situation. Thanks for watching buddy.

Thanks buddy hope you have a good day. Got any more snow coming up there😳?
@@fatefarmspa Yes Incoming snow about 2-3 inch on Monday 🤔🤔🥴🥴🤣🤣👍👍🍻🍻
I’d love to add a track loader one day. That and a mini x.

I agree, del. For now we are going to keep both while doing all the construction projects, Hope your knee is doing well
Hey Tom , I don’t blame you for keeping both . The knee is great . Thank you for asking !! 👍🏻🇺🇸
My answer is I want all three 😅 I want a skid steer, Yanmar 55 excavator, and tractor. Great job with the video 👍
It is nice having the equipment very fortunate 🙏🏻
I will take one of each please!😂👍👍
Coming right up, sir ! Haha

You are pretty much spot on 👍 I am fortunate to have both
Another fantastic video, Tom! Are you ready for Spring like I am?
Thank you ! Yes for sure 👍

Great points ! I know one day you’re gonna have it buddy gonna need a tax write off for that channel. That’s where Mike Morgan started.💪🏼
really? A Tax write off? @@fatefarmspa
As far as moving material and spreading it out, the track loader is the winner. But the tractor will still get the job done.
Yeah, I agree if you had to pick one tractor would be my pic !
Cool I just found you from a short this morning then found out you’re just outside of Pittsburgh pa too. So am I well I’m about 45 minutes north of
That’s cool I’ve met a lot of local people since we started this channel a little over a year ago 👍 are you in the Butler area?
In between Chippewa and new castle area.
@@motorider2236 cool ! Thanks for watching 👍

I agree. Haha

I agree, skid steer is very nice for tight areas ! I’m hoping to keep them both for right now
