    VAR was introduced to improve accuracy and fairness in refereeing decisions, but its implementation has been controversial. Some arguments for scrapping VAR include:
    1. Disrupts the flow of the game
    2. Causes confusion and delays
    3. Not all decisions are clear-cut, leading to inconsistency
    4. Takes away from the emotional and instinctive aspects of the game
    On the other hand, arguments for keeping VAR include:
    1. Improves accuracy in key decisions (e.g., goals, penalties, red cards)
    2. Enhances fairness and reduces controversy
    3. Allows referees to make more informed decisions
    I think a balanced approach, combining technology with human judgment, could lead to a more efficient, the referees should just improve, I think var should stay

    Who’s had a better invincible season, Arsenal 2003/04 or Bayern Leverkusen 2023/24 season? Guys what’s your take on this.

      Clearly a better one is upon us cuz theirs is Accross the season, not just the league.

    Sitso is spot on with the dialogue. The EPL want to reinvent the wheel when the simple thing is to learn from the other leagues/competitions where VAR is being used way more efficiently. The fact that the brand “Association Football” came from England doesn’t mean that everything pertaining to the game must be “English branded”. Learn what works and stick to it.

    Here are some potential improvements:
    1. Faster decision-making: Streamline the VAR process to reduce delays.
    2. Clearer communication: Ensure referees and fans understand the reasoning behind VAR decisions.
    3. Consistent application: Establish clear guidelines for when to use VAR and ensure consistency across referees and games.
    4. Referee training: Provide referees with comprehensive training on using VAR effectively.
    5. Technology enhancements: Continuously update and improve VAR technology to reduce errors and improve accurately

      Consistent application erh....that's the challenge. At the end it is a human taking a decision based on video footage. There's always the "grey" element. The problem is the human being ankasa😂😂😂. Give the match to a black and white AI. After just three games we would go back to human refs because football would be very mechanical😂😂😂😂. Every 2 mins one foul😂😂

    VAR shouldn't be scrapped, but some improvements need to be made: the office technology should be mandatory for elite European football. EPL and la Liga not having that shouldn't be allowed.

    Felix, thank you for coming, and please try making it here every week because Coach is loving being absent.
    Dani K, I want you to investigate Coach's records from school if he was habitual absentee in school because I am tired of Coach's being absent in fact both here and on scorecard
    He should be very careful in his own voice.

    Men will always be men 😎😎🤣🤣
    You people don’t do that to Atsu.. i will hook him up with one of my babes. He seems like a legit guy 💯
    On VAR though, it isn’t the problem. It’s the people behind it. Ivory Coast just hosted an AFCON with VAR in use and the international media commended them on how professional and spot on it was. The English FA and its refs are corrupt and so any tech that comes in to make the game more fair becomes bad and brings confusion. They should educate their refs and change their mentality, only then will VAR work better.

      Teams have issues with VAR when the decision does not go in their favour. The main aim of VAR is to assist by helping take unbiased decisions i.e "black or white". At the end of the day the ref still adds the element of "grey" because humans have different scale of judgement

    • @Coalpot-Jollof
      @Coalpot-Jollof 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      VAR nevertheless is still helpful but we would always have theses issues unless AI officiates the match entirely. 😂😂😂😂. Even with that you will still have developers trying to embed "grey thinking/decision ". A classical example is playing advantage. Should the AI stop play and award the foul or should it allow play to carry on because it favours the team in possession??? This VAR thing will make you over think😂😂😂

    VAR should only be used to detect offsides and goal line technology….apart from that ,AWAY

  • @samuelquampah3340
    @samuelquampah3340 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

    VAR can be used the way the NFL uses its reviewing process. Every touchdown is reviewed, in the same way every goal scored should be reviewed. VAR should not have the authority to ask the referee to award a penalty when he did not. Only on-field decisions taken by the referee should be reviewed.

    • @Coalpot-Jollof
      @Coalpot-Jollof 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      At the end of the day VAR would make sports very mechanical. We have seen a number goals scored where the fouls were committed in the buildup process.

    • @Coalpot-Jollof
      @Coalpot-Jollof 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The main challenge is the consistency of its application. Unless a robot is going to referee the match, there's always going to "grey" decisions

    Quick question. I don’t know if you have realised but most at times if PL referees are called to the pitch side monitor, they always reverse their decisions or always go by what the VAR says. I have seen refs in other leagues stay fixated on their original decisions even if VAR intervenes. I saw this multiple times too in the 2018 World Cup where refs didnt change their decision even if VAR intervened.

    Wolves and Gary O'Neil have been on the end of some very bad decisions. I thought a background of that would've been established before the discussion. I don't think any club has suffered that this season. That table without VAR is very inaccurate. Wolves have suffered from red cards, penalties that are not penalties and penalties that are penalties not given. Eg. Man United away on the opening weekend.
