    Great video, discovered your channel through your prepaid cards comparison video.
    I am travelling to NZ in a few weeks and have been looking for a card that offers me fee-free spending. I think I will get both Starling and Curve and use Starling as the backup if I need to spend more than Curve limits. I love the idea of having a combined wallet on one card, as I am tired of lugging around too many cards for multiple different uses. The 'go back in time feature' looks really useful and would be great if I need to move a transaction from one card to another. I like how Curve allows you to make fee-free transactions even with your traditional bank accounts!
    Once again great video, helped me out alot, thankyou!

    Hello Jamie! For travel, does the £200 cash withdraw counts towards the £500 a month spending limit? Also! Is the Barclay Platinum plus credit card discontinued for new customers?

    • @jamieroundtheworld
      @jamieroundtheworld  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello mate. No, my understanding is that the £200 cash withdrawal limit abroad is separate to the £500 a month spending limit abroad, so £700 in total before you start paying any conversion/withdrawal fees.
      And well spotted, just looked into this and unfortunately it does seem to be the case that the Barclay Platinum Plus Credit Card is no longer available which is a shame as it was one of the best travel credit card available.

    I have a question though, what country code does this card have? I have cards for different countries, for example Spotify, they have different music selection for each country. And some online places you are not allowed to buy stuff if the card does not match your delivery address, or does it relay trough?

    • @jamieroundtheworld
      @jamieroundtheworld  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I believe the Curve card with be setup for the country you hold residency in. However when you add cards to your Curve wallet, you select the underlying base currency of that card. So if you have a card that is a euro based card for instance, curve will pass euro transactions straight through to it with no conversion. Does that answer your question at all?

      Yorkshire Tyke because it is just an introductory offer for the first 90 days you are just stuck with the ones you chose at the start - I guess this is because if they allowed you to change you could keep on changing the retailer depending on who you are shopping with.

      You should keep the currency in the app for each card the same currency as the underlying card - so if you have a UK debit/credit card, maintain the currency as pounds. Curve will then automatically do the conversion from euros and charge your underlying card in pounds.

    what about if you get a refund. will it go directly into the chosen payment card at the time or the currently activated card?

    • @jamieroundtheworld
      @jamieroundtheworld  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Curve works out which payment card you would have originally used, using information like the retailer, amount and/or transactions times and dates. So it refunds the same card you used to make the original transaction, no matter which card you have selected when the refund is made. However if there are any minor problems or it takes a little to long they are very quick to respond and push it through quicker using the in-app chat.
      For instance I had Tescos charge me twice for the same transaction the other day as their kiosk had a problem with contactless - and whilst I would have got the refund within a week I just messaged the Curve team in the app and they sped it up and put the money back in my account within a couple of minutes!

    Here's a good one for you, on a Blue Card your restricted to how much cash you may draw over a month, can I use it as my Halifax card and draw say £300.00 twice a week over the month, or would I have to use my original HFX card to withdraw the cash! I have a Ramsdens pre paid card loaded with Euro's could I use the Curve and still get all my money out over a 2 week holliday period, thanks

    • @jamieroundtheworld
      @jamieroundtheworld  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yorkshire Tyke hey great questions! I guess your asking about withdrawing in the UK?
      When you first get the Curve card there are spending/withdrawal limits to protect your money. This includes £200 cash withdrawal per day.
      However this will quickly go up as you use the card and Curve is able to better recognise your spending habits. After a couple of weeks mine went up to £1000 cash withdrawal a day and £20,000 every 30 days. This means that yes I could use the Curve card to withdraw £300 twice a week after this period as you say. You can check your spending limits in the app on the ‘Card’ tab.
      On the second question, Curve unfortunately only supports a certain number of prepaid cards, the Ramsdens Prepaid card not being one of them. Here is a list of the supporting cards:
      support.imaginecurve.com/hc/en-gb/articles/115003215849-Which-cards-can-I-add-to-Curve-?mobile_site=true
      I hope that answers you questions but let me know if you have any more!

    • @jamieroundtheworld
      @jamieroundtheworld  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think mine took less than a week to arrive but they say about 5 business days for delivery in the UK. Yes you can always upgrade to a different card at a later date. They've just implemented the Lounge Key deal and I'm not entirely sure how it compares to other schemes (i may do a video on this at a later date). As well as the monthly card fee you will pay £15 for every Lounge visit - this does seem to be fairly good at first glance compared to similar schemes by American Expess etc, but as I say I haven't looked into it enough to say for sure. :)
