    Nice machine I've found that when changing spiral cutters if you paint the old edge with finger nail polish before starting to make cutter changes it's then easy to keep track of what cutters have been changed and much they have been moved visually at a glance and how many unused edges remain. I remember when I used to work for a printing company in Hebron Kentucky, Zumbeil packaging. A new Fisher Krekie web printing press was being installed. For those of you not familiar with how big some printing presses are, one section of the press was 3 stories high! The length of the press, from where the rolls of paper were loaded to the end where the robot arm took off the finished product, was probably 45 to 55 yards ( possibly longer!! It's been a while since I've worked there).
    The reason for me bringing this up is that I just remembered how long it took to install, then how long it took for the technicians to get all the systems up and running.
    We had to be there for the majority of the process to be trained on all the operating systems.
    Oh, and by the way, the rolls of paper were as big as a Honda Fit/ Toyota Prius!!! The press could hold two rolls at one time.

      @@freddyramirez1820 No it's not overkill for the scale of what they do. No it's not the same machine. No you can't "only" make things coplanar with a planer - there are several ways to flatten things with a planer (shimming for instance). I'm glad you have enjoyed woodworking for so long keep it up. It's a lifelong journey of learning...

    • @freddyramirez1820
      @freddyramirez1820 13 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @PA_3 so your going to flatten a big slab with shims on the bottom?...lets not make it seem like its anything more than a wide belt sander with a planner head to take off more material then with just the sander alone..you still need to start with a already flat surface as a reference point..Its also definilty over kill when you spend that much for electrical..when its just again, a wide belt sander...with a planner head...the feature i did like was that the peice can go back and forth thru the machine, so you dont have to carry it more than needed.. but its definitely overkill in investment imo..the electrical alone was insane, and honestly sounded like they werent well informed and had to get the electrical run because they already had bought the machine..cant go back at that point...waaaaay too much for a widebelt sander, with planner head
