    Just did a counter top with some wildly figured 1" Oregon Walnut that I had stored for 13 years. It took a lot of time and effort to get pieces that I could lay up without too much plane work and sanding but the figuring when finished was worth it!!

    Dylan, the table is simply gorgeous. The wood grain is so striking! Your team has done a wonderful job in allowing the beauty of nature to shine through. My compliments apply equally to both the base and the extensions which are as lovely as the table top itself.

  • @thenext9537

    @01:39 that middle section to bottom middle of screen. I had around 90 board food of that curly walnut. Sat around FOREVER and I decided to make a coffee table out of it around 41" wide and 55" long just curly burly. I bought it for 22$ a board foot as part of a larger slab. I didn't realize how rare it was now, because I see it semi often for not a lot of money per BF as it's sold as slabs and some of these slabs are 5.5' wide by up to 12' long.
    Also TITEBOND III FORE LIFE!!!!! I use it for everything. If someone wants to toss a piece outside, go ahead.

      Jason Bourbon Moth did the test because he knew someone that had it happen in his shop.
      His fence fire was from rags that he thought were alright and he’d put them on top of a green wheely bin. Very little bin left.

    As a guitar builder myself over at Blackworm Instruments, though this stuff is cool, the market is heavily saturated with curly walnut that just isn't selling as much as the maples are. I vote I'm glad some of this beautiful walnut is used elsewhere versus sitting as cut instrument blocks to collect dust 😂

    Can you make a video on bursting air bubbles. I’m in the process of understanding resin and when I poured my first batch, air bubbles could not stop rising. Do I need to seal the wood or am I using the wrong type of wood. I was using lumber.

    • @BlackForestWoodCo
      @BlackForestWoodCo  ปีที่แล้ว

      The resin type matters most, and then how you let the resin cure. Obviously, I'm going to be biased and suggest our Black Forest Deep Resin, which we use for all our pours and it cures over about a week and during the curing process, the bubbles will dissipate on their own. We don't recommend sealing the wood because it can potentially compromise the bond between the wood and the resin, we've had some previous projects where we do that separate from one another. Let me know if you have any more questions!

    • @d0peeyez92
      @d0peeyez92 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BlackForestWoodCo thank you for the response. Could resin be used to seal the wood?
      So basically there are different types of resin and the amount of time it takes to cure? And the ones that take longer to cure allow the bubbles to come out for a longer period before the resin hardens?

    OK ... this is almost WTF question. If theperson (as you say) wanted such specialty wood - then cover up with black resin (and not want to see details) - they whaddaf are they doing asking for such wood - and if don't want to see it or show it off ? This is not a rhetorical question - unless one questions the actual brain cells of the said person wanting a specialty wood table - but they not have it shown off (!!!). Better to put an arm around person, turn around in wood shop, walk out to car, (and Benny Hill slap-tap top of head of small-minded person) and send home to rethink their concept !
