Holly and Neil made me and my partner feel so welcome when we came. Lovely to have met them both. Such genuinely the nicest down to earth people you could ever meet!
They've done an awesome job. So good! ....it needs a retro game shop to complete the experience imho. It would be amazing to revive the nostalgia AND walk away with some original games as a memento (imho)
In the States, where I grew-up we had two main arcades... Tilt & Electronic Experience. Both were located inside local Shopping Malls. The original Tilt was situated in the lower level of the mall, where the lights were kept low, & the floor leading up to the storefronts was reminiscent of an old English cobblestone back street, complete with street lanterns. Inside Tilt, the carpet was luminescent under the black lights, and the ambient light from the various arcade games lit the way to the many different machines. The sounds of the arcade machines provided the audible backdrop, by which patrons were lured in to this awesome experience. In later years, to make room for the expanded movie theaters, Tilt was moved up into a vacant storefront, in the strip mall, losing so much of its original appeal.
Yeah the Cave is Amazing. Holly is wonderful and everyone is genuinely great. I can only apologise for “deciding” to go to India at the time you happened to have been there. But I did hug my wonderful one of a kind game as way of consolation.
Even though i will never get to see it in person, looks great now There is nothing wrong with people doing videos like you and concentrating on what relates to your life and what you had in your families when young. We do not really relate to the consoles we had no experience off, and our memories come back when we see consoles that we did have or computers. Its amazing that every person who goes there will have there own personal experience of what computing or consoles were like for them in there time frame. This place was a great idea, and so nice to see it like it is now The effort the people put into that place is amazing, so people can relive there own memories of what it was like for them experiencing technology for the first time when we were kids, as kids in 1980s did not grow up in a technology obsessed society like kids do now, so they got to experience alot of stuff as they were new to the world.
That outro... the magic is RUINED! 😆 But seriously what a place. It's been 24 years since I've been to the UK (as you know, it's a looooooooooooooooooooong way for us Aussies, real or fake 😄), but it's absolutely on my list to get back again soon and make a visit to the Cave part of my trip!
Was that the #1 day of play more in '24? 😂 Glad you had the experience and shared it with your mate! I must say... your love of driving fast cars is evident in your game play on Defender!! Slow down and aim?!? 🤣 Cheers Chris 👏
Only the manager and deputy manager got the use of the branded tea service. The closest the staff got to using it was making the tea or washing it up after they’d finished, usually with a strong odour of whiskey emanating from the manager’s cup.
I'm so crap at that game lol....and Outrun. I should have videoed myself clearing sheets on Invaders......or some Battlezone footage. The cab they have has the original, as well as the alternative which was based on an ATARI sim for the military, and a vast improvement on the original Yep...all left out of the video because I was too busy PLAYING GAMES 🤣🤣🤣

@@pb77-c2w I 100% agree. Neil was busy on this visit but we caught up with him for drinks in the evening :)

Don't mess with Stroud Man. 🤣
awesome! the background sound of the arcades and the people playing them is just fantastic, well caught! thanks for sharing!
@@reviewofthepast4047 thanks for the kind words. Those sounds make it for me. It's the combination of sounds really.
All those 3dfx cards. So epic!

I just love the sound of an 80's arcade, it brings back so many happy memories. What a fantastic place!
@@stephenelliott7071 the sound hits like a wall of nostalgia. It's not the same as a bar arcade, much as I love those. This hits so much harder.
Damn, I closed my eyes and those sounds took me back 40 years
@@tim-moffy it's quite confronting isn't it.
