Can't thank you enough. I saved R11000 on my NP200. Please do a gasket change video next😅. God bless you❤❤❤
When one comes in I will record it, thanks for supporting my channel with your visit.
Hi Gary!
k7m have a reputation for being one of the most indestructible engine (here in Russia). 400+ thousand kilometers is not a problem for this motor if no overheating was happeneed. Sandero is hatchback version of Logan which is heavily used in taxi with this motor without any majority issues.
Hello Evgeniy, thanks for supporting my channel with your visit, and thanks for your insights on the Renault K7m motor it is not so popular here but if it is used in the taxi industry there, it must have its advantages, wishing you an awesome 2021. Gary
Hi Gary the pulley of cam belt is loose so cam belt came out.The alternator pulley thanks
Hey Gary. As previously mentioned I am a student. I find it hard to buy tools so when I do I want to make sure that I am getting a bang for my buck.
Can you do a video going through your own tool collection and perhaps going through which tools you use the most and their price range. Could you also reccomend maybe 5 or so tools for beginners. Thanks a million and again keep pumping out the videos ww love them!
Hello Nzwakele thanks for supporting my channel with your visit, yes I will certainly put a video together as per your request, wishing you an awesome 2021. Gary
Thanks Gary. I managed to service my 2016Honda Ballade after seeing how you did it.
I am glad the video helped, Thomas, thanks for supporting my channel with your visit it really helps.
Thanks Gary. I'm halfway thru replacing cambelt Renault stepway following your video. Very helpful thanks.

Awsome vid thanks.....as a pensioner I’m certainly glad I own a sandero 1.6 180 000km without any issue.....easy to work on cheap on spares .....
Thanks for the support Mr. Z, yes I agree one of the most economical and reliable cars to own in this day and age.
Thanks Gary. Excellent video. Now I don't have to send my bakkie to a workshop. I can do it myself. Please do more videos on this same model.
Glad you liked the video and found value in it, thanks for your support.
Hi, thank you for this detailed video. Please help. I have an oil leak that comes out of one of the bolt holes that hold the top timing belt cover. For easier reference, I have tried to upload a screenshot from this very video but without success. So, Let me try to explain the culprit bolt hole. it is the 2nd bolt which you loosened from the metal top timing belt cover.
It sounds like the cam seal ios leaking, Pokane
Hi Gary, I followed video, but now the tappets are noisy when I accelerate....
Any idea why??? PLEEEEZE 😅
....I was contemplating driving to the Cape 😂😂
Thanks again for your great videos, Absolutely helpful 👍 😀
It could be the tappets need to be reset.
( valve clearances, inlet 0.10mm - 0.15mm cold/exhaust 0.25mm - 0.30mm cold ) good luck I hope you come right.
You must make more videos thanks so much

Hi Gary Nissan SE hardbody vg30 firing order please no spark on distributer what can be the issue please Thanks I'm enjoying your videos on TH-cam....❤
1-4-2-5-3-6 Check the coil, and distributor, for input and output voltages. Sometimes the stator in the distributor gives trouble on these distributors.
Hi Gary thanks for your video's can you please help my sandero 1.6 speedo stop working what can i do
The speedo drive gear in the box needs replacing.
Hi there Gary. I found your video very insightful. I am just a bit confused, and maybe you can shed some light. I have a Renault Sandero 1.4 8v car, with the K7J motor. Does this engine use a timing belt, or timing chain? I have bought a belt kit. Only to be informed that my car has a "timing chain". Can you clarify for me?
It is definitely a timing belt engine according to the engine code you supplied.
@@vehiclemaintenanceandrepai3790 Thank you very much for your response. Most appreciated 👍
A great pleasure
Hi... Do you need to drain the oil when changing the timing chain on Renault sandero stepway 2016 model
No, no need to change the engine oil when doing a cam belt on the Renault Sandero.

Hi Gary, at 90k service Belt service was carried out and the kit belt was part of that labour however at 135k i'm asked to replace Timing Chain. Does Renault Sandero T900 2016 uses Belt or Chain?
Hi Gary, just bought a used NP200 with 197000km on the clock, how far can I drive it before changing the timing belt at that kilos. I used all my savings to avoid installments, and need to save if it's a huge/costly to do the timing belt. All the best for a stunning vid.
Hi Harold, thanks for supporting my channel with your visit and interaction, I would suggest you replace the cambelt and tensioner on or before 200 000 kilometres as the manufacturers recommend it be replaced every 100 000 kilometres.
Hi gary. Im confused by the mark u made on the cover down there. In the beginning you said the mark on the crank pulley should align with the cover, where the two covers joints..
Yes, it is a bit confusing I admit, it is best to make your own reference marks so you know how to assemble correctly.
@Harold I changed mine in a panic @120 000, the belt was still in very good condition relative to the horrors I’ve seen from my place of work vehicles. But I’d say it’s about time at R200 000. It’s cheap and actually not difficult there’s room to work in the engine bay. Good, they’re quite good vehicles.
Hi Gary.
Excellent video. Please can you advise where do find the engine code K7M as well as torque specs for bolts.
Furthermore how did you find out about the bolt that you removed to insert an allen key to jam crankshaft in place.
Hello Dharmesh, thanks for supporting my channel with your visit, the engine code is usually found on the licence disc, the torque specs are 100nm, I am a 30+ year motor mechanic veteran, these experiences are picked up over a long period, when exactly I learned of the removable bolt eludes me Lol. Wishing you an awesome 2021. Gary
Great video 👍
Thanks, Ed, your support is greatly appreciated.
What about the water pump gary?
If it needs to be replaced then do it, this one did not need replacing.
Tanks for this video,
Thanks for supporting my channel with your visit Jose, I am happy you found value in the video.
My cambelt broke and I’ve done the head now I’m stuck trying to get the timing correct before fitting new cam belt , where should the mark be if it was already totally out? 1.4 8V sandero
Hi Jono, watch the video carefully all is explained and shown here, the important thing is to find top dead centre on the crankshaft, it is simply achieved by removing cyl. 1 spark plug, insert a long shaft or screwdriver in the plughole, turn the crank clockwise until the shaft is at its highest point, this would be TDC, on the Cam gear turn it so the arrow marked D lines up with the mark on the backplate, then the engine is timed, now fit the belt and tensioner as illustrated in the video, good luck.
Gary
The bottom gear won't come off so I can't get the belt out. Do I smack it with four pound hammer?
By all means NO, Trevor, I would suggest spraying some release fluid and gently pry it off, a hammer may damage the crankshaft itself.
Can Renault Sandero gearbox be fixed
Yes Matheus, if the worn parts are available.
Good video! which is best gates or dayco cambelt kit?
They are both equally good, I used both in the past without issues.
@@vehiclemaintenanceandrepai3790 Thanks for the reply.
My NP200 is 2019 with
30000km.Have I still got time before I have to change the cambelt.
Loads of time left.
@@vehiclemaintenanceandrepai3790 Good to know,I don't have the tools to do the job and who to trust to do the job.
Thank you
That is a great pity as I feel every car owner should have a competent mechanic they can trust
Hey Gary I'm 95km should I change my cambelt or should I give it more time ?
Sooner is better Lungisani, 95000kms is good mileage to replace the cam belt and tensioner.
Godd recordings , But if only. there was more light to see clear
Can't win em all hey
I there how to remove camshaft of a np200 2015
Not in my list of videos to do, sorry
Thank for you video.
