Trinidadian living in Japan here. It would be a good idea to allow captions on soca videos so we can add subtitles. I’m exposing my students to soca music (yes, I play this video in high school classes), and the students really enjoy the music, but they can enjoy it so much more if they understood the lyrics. Trinidadian to standard English needs subtitles anyway, and from there, some enterprising person can translate to Japanese. There are a lot of Trinidadians who have lived in Japan and know Japanese. Not to mention there are Japanese people who love Trinidad culture too.
P.S.: I show this video and Kes’s Savanah Grass because there are no people overly exposing their bodies and also wining crazy. I teach teenagers so I appreciate videos like these. Please make more kid friendly music videos, Mr. Montano. Thank you.
