I've never heard of this story before. hanks for bringing it to my attention. I was hoping to dust off my Smyth & revisit my college days of reading Ancient Greek. No such luck.
While I'm here, can you please point me in the direction of some good Bulgarian novelists? Perhaps from the early to mid-20th C? I am a huge fan of Balkan music & would like to expand my grasp of this culture. I will happily check out your other offerings.

Thank you! I'm glad you liked my video.
As for a Bulgarian author from that period, the safe choice would be Aleko Konstatinov. I would personally go however with the melancholic but wondrous Yordan Yovkov.

@@BackwaterLibrarian Thanks for the suggestions, although it appears Yovkov doesn't have anything that has been translated into English. So, I have added a more contemporary Georgi Gospodinov The Physics of Sorrow. Keep up the great work on your channel.

You're welcome. A fine choice, Gospodinov would be a good option for a contemporary author.
As for the Ancient Greek, I feel you. I also full-on studied it at university, but haven't had the time to come back to it since. With a good dictionary and grammar at hand I find it to be still serviceable though. 😉
Thank you for your encouragement and support. 😊
