You're perfect.❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ The lesson is spectacular. Your explanation is beautiful. Thank you very much. Such lessons are very useful for understanding native speakers.
Wouuuuuuuuu Amazing !!! Thank you 🙏🏿 so much Teach Anne !!! One day, a native speaker wasn’t able to enlighten me about the combination “WITH YOU” specifically in the sentence : “WHAT’S WRONG WITH YOU ?” I’ve noticed the “SH” sound and that surprised me expecting the “TH” sound with my tongue 👅 between my teeth 🦷. I’ve been trying to mimic the “SH” sound without knowing Why. Your lesson’s got me the informative blessing I’ve been looking for since then. Thank you 🙏🏿 Teach Anne !!!
Wow!! thank you Annemarie! You've given a detailed account of assimilation of sounds in American English. The one which struggled me a lot is the blending of /z/ to /y/ and /sh/, I felt like my tongue being in a roller coaster! "Where's your daughter" is the one I found more challenging. Again, your tips at the end, are so useful. Thank you again, Annemarie
My pleasure! The best practice is repeated practice. That will help you to remember what you learn. I definitely recommend coming back to review when you can.
Impressive, you taught something that was impossible, in something we can achieve. You teach with didactics, calmly, wherever we are, your message is understood.
It's such a useful video. Thanks a lot. Could you help me with the followings. Are they right? 1/ /ʃ/ linking to /j/ ==> /ʃ/ brush your hair ==> /brʌʃər hɛr/ 2/ question /ˈkwɛstʃn /. We can pronounce one of two ways - /ˈkwɛstʃn / with /s/ before /tʃ/ - /ˈkwɛstʃn / without /s/ before /tʃ/
Dear coach. Could you help? are the followings correct? We can pronounce as usual with stop /t/ or assimilation like that /t/ + /g/ ==> /k/ + /g/ hot girl / hɑt ɡərl /==> / hɑk ɡərl / Thanks a lot
Dear Coach For the below case. Can we pronounced in one of two following ways? Where’s she - Normal: / wɛrz ʃi / - Assimilation: / wɛr ʒi / Thanks a lot

Hi Imran Hossain! Thank you for the video suggestion. Would you mind telling me what concerns you have regarding pronunciation?
Great video.
more about assimilation. please
Thank you for the suggestion.
Superb...
Thanks 🤗
At 4:26, the captions say "a Jew" (or J sound), which reminded me of Woody Allen in Annie Hall.🤣 (Sorry, couldn't resist).
It's such a useful video. Thanks a lot. Could you help me with the followings. Are they right?
1/ /ʃ/ linking to /j/ ==> /ʃ/ brush your hair ==> /brʌʃər hɛr/
2/ question /ˈkwɛstʃn /. We can pronounce one of two ways
- /ˈkwɛstʃn / with /s/ before /tʃ/
- /ˈkwɛstʃn / without /s/ before /tʃ/
I'm glad it was helpful.
You're correct that 'brush your hair' will often be said as "brʌʃər."
As for question 2, I always note an /s/ prior to /tʃ/.
@@Speakconfidentenglish thanks a lot my coach
Dear coach. Could you help? are the followings correct?
We can pronounce as usual with stop /t/ or assimilation like that
/t/ + /g/ ==> /k/ + /g/
hot girl / hɑt ɡərl /==> / hɑk ɡərl /
Thanks a lot
Thank you for the question. I would say that with assimilation, the final /t/ on hot would sound more like the /g/ in girl.
@@Speakconfidentenglish thanks a lot my coach
💚💚💚
🙏😇❤️💐
🙏👍
Is that " donchu or donchyu" ?
ARE YOU AMERICAN
Dear Coach
For the below case. Can we pronounced in one of two following ways?
Where’s she
- Normal: / wɛrz ʃi /
- Assimilation: / wɛr ʒi /
Thanks a lot
You certainly could pronounce it like that.
