This is the first time I have ever seen all of the judges go up on stage. Jon deserves it and this was a wonderful audition not only because of Jon's talent but it was a glimpse into a family of love. Congratulations, Jon! Boy do I wish I could have been there!
You've got singers, and then you have artists. An artist has the ability to move people..and no doubt this guy moved everybody in that building that day. I wouldn't call it an audition..I'd call it a clinic on how to be a cool & awesome person.
What not to like about him - a great father, a great man, a talented person in his own way. He may not be a popular songwriter but what he has crafted touched and won many hearts.
Ok I’m a blubbering woman what a performance who would have thought truth, comedy, piano and a story could truly capture all the hearts of the world. This man deserved to win and his sons omg how special is this family. Bless them Lord to the stars he will be in America on the Grammys stage or something. Be prepared world Jon has arrived an on tour
Amazing Jon . This audition reminds us to keep following our dreams. The first thing after I saw this video , I shared it with my dad. This would always remind us to that family is there to support and no success feels fruitful without family's support. Amazing.
That was an awesome performance. Entertained me more than anything I can remember in recent years. Congratulations on the golden buzzer and I hope you go on to "slay" them all the way to the winner spot.
"This is bonker" and then he plays the roof of the Palladium. Such a wonderful guy and his little son is so humble. I love him and hope he gets the fame he really deserves!!! This song went from hilaric to emotional and in the middle.. yeah, I cried.. specially when I saw that little one cry.
Honestly, last night I saw one of your performances (I think the semi-finals performance) and this one when BGT first posted it on TH-cam. I remember telling myself that you'd win it all. I just searched the BGT 2020 winner and I saw your finals performance and the announcement. It could have not happened to a better man. Congratulations and the best of luck.
Magic man ✨ 👉 this moment will never happen again IN BGT! Magnificent poem! U just paint what life should be at all levels. All kind of sensation, and emotion speak through people skins. Ur son is RIGHT! 'U r the Greatest Showman Dad... " Keep Dreamin, and u r right, the reality is just a dream.. U r coming from the ✨✨✨✨✨
I know it has been few months but I never wrote anything. I just wanna say that You made my cry from joy. I am artist to well cartoonist maby thats why I cry, i am moved easyly, but I see i comments people also cry. I wwish You and Your familly all the best, and do what you the best entertein people, we need humans like You becuse world isn't the nicest place now. Cheers from poland and I am soryy for my english.
My favorite part is when you grab the mic and whisper, "This is bonkers!" and then you step into History..... Cheers, Jon, you deserve all the applause! (and money)
This is a fresh air in BGT history. That isn't a special voice, presented by God. That isn't f a song, which copied from somebody else. All, what have been done, he createed by yourself. This is call a TALENT.
"His younger son Alfie says, 'What's it all about?'" I wonder how many caught this allusion. Back in 1966 a very young Michael Caine played the titular role in a movie that was kind of a big deal: "Alfie." The catch phrase from the movie's theme song was, "What's it all about, Alfie?"
I mean, the song really blurs the lines between being inspired by, and straight up copying tim minchin. I've only just seen this for the first time and had to stop and google to see if it was a tribute act. I'm sure he's a lovely guy but its veeery similar to minchin song.
I really don't see this at all. Which songs of Tim's do you think Jon's are similar to? This is not a criticism of your comment I just don't see it myself. To me it's like saying all singers of a certain style are copying each other. Jon is very different to Tim. Singing funny songs and playing piano isn't a style that can only be kept for one artist. It's how all music genres are formed. It's also worth noting that Jon has been doing this, as a professional musician for the past 20 years.
@@GreenFairyProductions of course i agree with that, in this case it was just a little too similar to 'rock n roll nerd' by minchin. Even talking about 'writing in 3rd person', the whole plot of the song being about his struggles as a musician in the early days, a comedic narrative over a single piano track, ending with a musical homage to a famous song.
Jon Courtenay 'thinking he would write in 3rd person so he doesnt get scared' Tim But he doesnt want to seem obsessed so he writes in 3rd person Jon courtenay He never thought hed ever get to be in front of millions of people on doing his thing on TV Tim michin All he's ever wanted to be is a rock star on mtv, but he knows that its not fucking likely Jon courtenay During the song mentions 'greatest showman', then plays a small part of it at the end Tim minchin During the song mentions 'stairway to heaven' then plays a small part of it at the end Jon courtenay 'thirty years of playing' Tim minchin 'he just turned 30' Jon courtenay So he sits at the piano and tries to get prepared Tim minchin So he sits and imagines So he can't write So he learnt piano instead of guitar
Not to mention the intense similarity in playing style. Not just that its a guy on a piano, more than that. I love this style of music and listen to a lot of musicians who have a comedic style and play piano. They are all different, but not this one. Sorry i dont mean to sound horrible, its just a glaring obvious to me.
@@rhiannontalbot1 Fair enough but Jon has been doing this for 20 years so he hasn't just copied Tim's style. He was performing in this way long before Tim was even famous. If you look at other artists there are so many lyrics, chord progressions and riffs, for example, Bruno Mars' Locked out of Heaven / The Police's Roxanne or Lady Gaga's Born This Way and Madonna's Express Yourself that are incredibly similar. It happens all the time, but doesn't mean they've gone out of their way to copy someone. Two people can have a very similar idea or style. It's how genres are created. Jon is not going to change the way he writes and performs because Tim is now famous. He writes from the heart, he always has and he always will. I think we'll have to agree to disagree on this one but thank you for the little debate :)
I think his youngest son was crying because he needed his daddy to be home...not out playing a piano in bars. It is sad that our kids are only young once. We cannot look back and say "so many moments I missed in my little ones' lives, I wish I had the chance to do it over". We don't get that time back. There seems to be so much said in praise for a parent showing their child how tough it is to be a good worker or to follow ones dreams. To me, it seems we are teaching children that it is normal to emotionally and physically (almost) abandon their own children. How is this positive? I agree this fellow has quite a bit of talent, but to win the whole season's worth of talent with an impromptu song? Well, I'm not so sure in the long run, it will be worth what he had to give up for it To be sure, though, he is talented.
in my opinion this is the best golden buzzer ever .... simple but touching ...
This is the first time I have ever seen all of the judges go up on stage. Jon deserves it and this was a wonderful audition not only because of Jon's talent but it was a glimpse into a family of love. Congratulations, Jon! Boy do I wish I could have been there!
This is one hell of a wholesome family
Probably the only comedian who makes his audience cry! What a wonderful act. Ant and Dec so got it right!
❤️I love he’s comedy always I guess he’s the best ever 🎶🎶

Best winner ever, in my opinion. His humor, down to earth personality and originality in every performance is awesome.
What not to like about him - a great father, a great man, a talented person in his own way. He may not be a popular songwriter but what he has crafted touched and won many hearts.

Top 10 of auditions in bgt ever
In America we'd. call this corny but there is real talent hidden in the corn, both as a lyricist and a performer.
Great song.

Can anyone tell me what is the name of the song in background when Ant hit the golden buzzer
Yes please I need it. 😩😩😩💔
According to Fredie Dedier in comments below, the song is Remember Home. Thank him.
@@ballahm8016 thank you

I want to meet Ant and Dec!

You can see that Simon was waiting for Ant And Dec to came out and press the Golden Buzzer and not gonna lie I was waiting too

Only ant and dec saw the winner.
Bless him, he could take some organ lessons from Michael Graham Blackledge for a confident stage presence.
