- Well, it's finally happened; due to fallout from the pandemic, soaring interest rates, crime, and other LAME bottle-blockin' bullshit, our cities out here are becoming GHOST TOWNS full of boarded up buildings, homeless encampments, decaying, half-built edifices, & weed-entangled empty former construction sites littered with rusted debris & broken developers' dreams. BUT - there's also a plus side to the apocalypse ! BOTTLE DIGGING ! Join BottleNed & Privy Pokin' Paige as we navigate this forsaken terrain in search of lost treasures of The Old West !!!

It makes sense about Eastern sodas showing up on the West coast. We dug an 1860-1840s pit in Vancouver WA and there was 12 graphite pontiled sodas all from the East coast. Pretty sure there was a soda operating and using those sodas and covering the embossing with a label. Beautiful glass you guys pulled out of that pit! Love those sodas and umbrella ink!

We have privies everywhere here in Pennsylvania but I'm old and broken these days....I dig Turn of the century to the 30s dumps now....Milks, sodas, poisons, crocks and of course the very very valuable embossed with bees and hives honey jars.....Monarch Brand is my favorite. I find all kinds of stuff but only certain things as listed are sought out here ....Bitters pop up occasionally but not often now. 💪😎

Amazing to see a CT squat out there! I have one of those IP Harvey's, its a fairly decent bottle, but if you find the porter version, that one is VERY desired, tough and valuable. Would love to dig one myself, maybe one day...

I believe in some cases with soda bottles, color could denote flavor but in almost all cases no, it’s just that they blew the bottles with whatever they had lying around

It was a different piece of colored cullet used in glass batches that caused the amber swirl.
I dug an Upper Soda Dunsmuir Cal. bottle recently in Dunsmuir.

Even with Ned's current doom and gloom report if anyone is looking for a high paying job with great benefits all the local Ironworkers Unions in California are looking for workers there is so much work. Yet to see a GHOST TOWN or a half built weed entangled bridge.
Boarded up retail and stalled projects everywhere in sf & Oakland. Not literal ghost towns but that’s what I’m hearing everyone call these Bay Area cities at the moment. Cities like stockton are almost literal ghost towns right now - far worse than even 15 years ago.
Plenty of construction in the bay but a lot of it city housing projects currently as opposed to private development
