    Brilliant video, after replacing the part using your vid for instructions, I thought I had bricked my phone, wouldn't turn on, then I plugged in charger and after a few seconds the Apple logo appeared.... Phew!! Battery was on 80% so not sure what was going on, still the lightning port was dead before before replacement and now it's all good again! Thx for the helpful vid, wouldn't have managed the repair without!

      I don’t know why but that happens often. My stomach drops every time. Did I just kill the phone? Wait no. Crisis averted. 😂. Glad I could help

    one thing i'd like to leave here for something which i had worries about, the ''microphone spacer'' aka the small piece of plastic that ''holds'' the 2 microphone flexes, dont be scared if the new flex doesnt have adhesive. just get the bracket on and hold them in place.

    I replaced my charging port using your video. Thank you. Everything went smoothly and everything works great except the lower microphone. On voice memo it is silent. And now my Siri and speakerphone is also not working. Do you think I got a defective replacement part? I bought the new charging port from ifixit

      do those issues go away if you install the original flex

      Not sure how to help you. Some of them are different sizes. The best advice I have is see if ifixit has a guide. They specifically reference screw lengths

    If my mic is not working during facetime, speaker phone, and the voice memos app would it be my lower microphone or the front microphone?

    • @repaironwheels
      @repaironwheels  ปีที่แล้ว

      Voice memos use the lower mic attached to the charge port. Siri/speakerphone uses a combination of lower mic and upper mic (which it attached to the proximity sensor/ambient light sensor flex). So it might be both. Together they aren’t terribly expensive so I would get both and use process of elimination

      I’m not sure about that, if you block the bottom mic ports and say hey siri she won’t respond.

  • @nikhilnagar1424

    Sir, during voice memo was mic was working but not on calls but while putting calls on speaker it works on some point so i take it to local shop he changed only the below left corner mic and now I cannot send my voice during calls nor record voice memos please sir 🙏🏻 reply me as soon as possible with full explanation !

    • @repaironwheels
      @repaironwheels  ปีที่แล้ว

      The bottom mic is attached to the charging port assembly, if that was the part that was replaced and now voice memos do not work I’d suggest putting the old part in. If voice memos work after that you at least know that issue is a part issue and not a board issue

    Would you be able to estimate how much it would cost to have this process performed? I can't get my iphone 13 to charge anymore. It feels like the adapter plug doesn't seat correctly in the port. I have already tried to clean it out.

    My 13PMx charging port won't charge, but when i use my earphone (via charing port) it works just fine... u have any idea why this is?

      It’s possible one of the pins that uses that data line is functional while the pins that supply power are damaged/non functional

      I try not to leaving pricing in comments because more than likely it will drop in 6/12/18 months and I don’t want someone to make a decision off old pricing. Shoot me a message so I can give you a price

    Used your video to successfully replace this part. However, my new part didn’t come with new battery adhesive. Trying to find something that will work! I think some used chewing gum should suffice. ;o)

    I brought my phone to Best Buy and they are telling me I’d have to restart my phone to change the charging port Is that true? My phone won’t charge in the port but will charge on a flat top charging table could you help me out

    • @repaironwheels
      @repaironwheels  ปีที่แล้ว

      Restart as in factory reset? Or turning off and back on. Because a factory reset is unnecessary

    • @brycestreib2367
      @brycestreib2367 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@repaironwheels yeah a factory reset the geek squad told me that had to be done because that was the next step and I was like no I’m not restarting my phone and losing my photos. They also said sometimes updating it will make the charger work but all the diagnostics came back fine so I don’t know what to do

    • @brycestreib2367
      @brycestreib2367 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@repaironwheels I did have an alert that said water was in the port but that happened before and it was fine after I left it for a while

    • @brycestreib2367
      @brycestreib2367 ปีที่แล้ว

      They also said I had to back up my phone so it can be restored after the reset

    • @repaironwheels
      @repaironwheels  ปีที่แล้ว

      To Apple or Best Buy or any Apple authorized service provider, a charge port replacement means swapping out the entire housing with the board/battery/small parts. I’m this scenario you would obviously need to back up your stuff because they would be giving you a new logic board. That being said… for every other repair shop like mine, a charging port replacement doesn’t need any of that

    Why the hell can’t any repair video ZOOM IN ON THE PHONE. You think we can see what you’re pointing too and talking about 3ft away from a screw that’s 1mm long?

    • @repaironwheels
      @repaironwheels  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Quite a bit more effort while filming and during editing. On more than one occasion I’ve completely scrapped videos because I got lost in the moment and zoomed in for one part, then moved the phone or to a different part of the phone completely missed the repair cuz I was zoomed into the wrong area

    Heat, alcohol, suction cups, and patience and I still managed to crack the screen after getting all the way to the top edge...I'm beginning to think Apple doesn't want us fixing devices 🥲

    • @repaironwheels
      @repaironwheels  ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry to hear that. Older screens were a lot easier to remove but were way less water resistant. You take the good with the bad I guess
