Yeah frozen banshee is way better than kael! There is an uncommon that isn't too bad either! Can't remember the champions name though lol
FB is trickier to use than Kael. It's not AoE, so it's only really applicable to bosses. And you need to set up her A3. I found without getting lots of extra attacks (speed, counter-attack, ally attack) she doesn't perform very well at all, even in clan boss.

@calandale if I was starting a new account today I definitely would not start with kael! I would start with Elhan! She is 10x better than kael at rare secret rooms! Kael drops off pretty quickly mid game! And if you don't pull a frozen banshee early on, you can always use outlaw monk (uncommon) until you get a decent poison champion!
@@Lilliana1 I in no way said he was better than anyone else. Just pointing them out. And Rowan is not trash at all if you don't have a better poisoner. He is a big part to play in an UN CB tune team on DWJ's site.
Ash, I would like to point out one caveat to Saurus as a campaign farmer for new accounts/players. He needs to have good gear to hit the desired numbers. I saw your videos as a new player and leveled up a Saurus very early on as my 3rd or 4th champ to 60. It was an immediate regret as I did not have the gear necessary to clear 12-3 Brutal. I have since pulled and used a Felhound but the Saurus attempt was a regret for my account because I chased that farmer too early and he ended up being a 60 that I never used other than faction wars. (now in a stun set)
True!!! He needs savage with good stats, currently doing 7sec for 12-3
So many champs like that. Shieldgaurd was another one that should not be recommended for newer players.

@@KozyKoti What crit damage and attack should be a minimum to work? Having the right gear to afford crit damage on gloves, or the right substats is not available to early players.
Another good quality about Soulbond Bowyer is the fact that she only needs 75 percent critical rate, as all of her skills have a extra 25 percent chance to crit. She hits pretty good for a rare.

Well yes she has an extra 25% but all champions already have 15% so that's 40% instant crit rate meaning all you need is 60% for 100% crit rate but that just makes her even better

Hey Ash! First time commenting but I appreciate your videos a lot. I've gotten so much useful information to cut my learning curve down in this game. The encouragement you provide is a personal touch that bring me first to your channel for anything I'm looking to learn about Raid. Would love to see you put out some content on "Budget" versions of teams that can take on higher-level content. I'm a F2Per on day 178 now, so I'm just starting to develop a stable of champions to tackle areas like Iron Twins, Sand Devil, and Phantom Shogun. Strategy guides for those areas, along with some champion recommendations focused on the needs and limited resources of a player just beginning to develop teams for those places, would be a must-see for me.
Also wanted to say, I'm shocked you didn't mention Venomage as a poisoner/debuffer alternate for Kael OR Galek, especially since you preach about finding utility in a champion's kit. She was one of the first epics I pulled and she is a Toxic Fortress for me. An AOE double big poison A3, a single target Def and Atk break both big versions on her A2, and instant activation on her A1. And that accuracy Aura! She is the all-star and Leader of my Demon Lord team, and I would not have been able to beat the final Frost Spider for the first time without her.because Artak wasn't going to land his HP burn without that little bit of extra Accuracy. She wrecks DL, Spider, Dragon, Doom Tower, Ice Golem, and especially Fire Knight. She's even strong against Sand Devil with all the debuffs she brings. I even use her in arena against some of those pesky mega-healers because of her AOE heal break.. She's dangerous to face when built well. Where's the LOVE, Ash?!?! And before I go, Keep on doing what you're doing. It's helping.

Obviously there are many more poisoners in the game, but my replacement for Kael was supercharged in Venomage - the key debuffs and damage mitigation passive was a huge boon everywhere, including PvP where the 3 turn heal reduction allowed me to finally topple the always prevalent Ultimate Deathknight teams.
Athel was my primary nuker, and was strong for me until I finally reworked my Genbo with your help! One overlooked aspect with Genbo that seems to be overlooked as a nuker is his sneaky way of stealing buffs that would otherwise save his target (Block Damage, Unkillable, Revive on Death, Strengthen).
A tip for those in the early game in the chase for Yannica, who can do at least the first boss or two in doom tower . In the elite section of clan quests there are usually a couple that you might not think you can do but are relatively easy. One is crafting legendary artifacts from materials in the doom tower, as these can be 3 or 4 star pieces to complete the quest. The second is crafting a specific gear slot such as craft 5 legendary gloves with ATK percentage. At 350 coins per quest they'll help you get the fragments quicker and getting the materials is pretty easy.

18:25 I believe Athel is better than Kael as a starter now. There are a number of reasons for this I will list below.
1) She can 3 star brutal as a 50. This allows you to get both hard and brutal sacreds in that opening 24 hour window where everyone is guaranteed 2x sacreds.
2) Kael is considered great for poisons. But there are a lot of poisoners who can do a similar or better job, and you can get access to generally early on (worst case scenario is Yaga at 2 months, and if you don't have Kael he works comparably). Until you get a better one, Outlaw Monk can do poisons.
3) Unlike poison getting a decent weakener is very hard. And this can bring substantially more help to your dungeon teams and Demon Lord than many alternatives.
4) She has self-buffing which is great overall, but especially means she brings more dmg in Arena.
5) The extra turn mechanic on the self-buff means she can also cycle the AOE faster (essentially getting a 2 turn cooldown on the first deployment if you set it up to do the AoE, then the A3.
6) She has the highest base defense.
Great idea for a video. Glad you mentioned Myciliac Priest Orn, since he is from the Sylan tribe, which is up and coming.
Kinda a new to the game and use Keal for poison in CB, but just pulled Orn and Urogrim should I replace one of them as my Poisoner.
Good call on telling people to focus support. Honestly an AOE rare with Stun would be an excellent early build. Keeping waves under control is key. Kael can nuke hard enough to get you all the way through the mid game if built right.
This is awesome!!! To show upgrading of teams and champions is genius. Maybe create a branching diagram of champions that follow this concept.

Honestly I'm just happy you brought up tarshon and arndulf these two are champions I have always used and Honestly tarshon is a personal favorite and was my most used champion in my video. It's just like instant vindication and puts a spotlight on 2 champions almost no one talks about.

You are so right about Genbo! He changed my live arena team as only my second void nuker. Makes my choices simpler. Genbo, Skullcrown and Arbitor are every bout with Pythion or Duchess as the back-up reviver and Artak in bolster or Zavia based on what the opponent shows.
This is a cool video. My campaign farmer was shaman, Deliana, UDK, & Ronda. Kael. Athel, Elhain, & Galek didn't see much action. UDK usually travels with commons & uncommon to use for food. Frozen Banshee gets the most love. 10 uncommon are getting some love too thanks to market/mystery shards. Have fun.

Thing to remember aswell saurus is in the market alot, very easy to get and max out skills.
Arndulf carried my account in arena with his weakens and fears. Eventually, he got hard replaced in everything when I got UDK

Surprised Bellower was not mentioned until the end. He's so versatile and also 'just' a Rare. With your video beginning with CFs & AoE Nukers, he should be the Headline Act? Especially as ALL his attacks are AoE! He's my Campaign Farmer on both Accounts still, at Levels 94 & 75 (I know I was lucky to pull multiple Bellowers very early on, Week-1 on each Account). So, to summarise: Rare > Void > AoE Nuker > Control Champion > Campaign Farmer. He's the "whole package" to paraphrase those awful 'Talent' Shows.
Which ARTIFACTs do you put on him?
@@jathejt I've got Stun & Speed on my Control/Waves Bellower. I've got Savage & Crit. Dmg. on my Campaign Farmer. What's most important is your CF needs Speed 183 or higher & 100% Crit rate. At that lvl he'll smash 12-3 on brutal consistently in approx 11-secs. Getting those matters more than which sets you use to do it, especially early/mid-game, until you've got better gear.

I think galek is good if you want to start farming fire knight earlier and get savage gear earlier
I loved starting the game with Galek, his Aoe damage in lifesteal just kept him going on the harder early game stuff, i replaced him with Zargala, later down the line got Dhuk but i orefer Zargala, her A2 hits very hard si she is getting extra triple aoe hits all the time. She sped up my dragon 20 because she would just mop up on the waves.
As an almost 1 year f2p biggest thing im looking for is a good wave clear team that doesnt take 1 minute per wave at the higher end dungeons. Along with a tank that heals or has buffs the best iv gotten is UDK. Also lacking a good debuffer that isnt spread across 2-3 champs. Seems like im running the same team for everything and its gotten boring. Takes too damn long to get legends that arent mediocre.
Awesome video idea! I just spent a ridiculous amount of whale money on like 60 void shards, didn't get a legendary but I got about 6 Coldheart's, Fellhound, and Paragon at least.

You keep showing the better champions, which is very informative, BUT I see very little on kitting out these champions and why or how to calculate best for these rates and/or epics.

Ash, one thing you didn't mention about Alika here or in the dedicated guide on your other channel is that she requires 20 books!!! I recently pulled her but I'm hesitant to invest due to the library of congress needed to book her out.
I got absurdly lucky and pulled trunda and kyoku , kyoku I already worked into my team but could trunda replace kael as my pve/pvp nuker instead of kael ? I already have frozen banshee replacing him in clan boss so I’m not worried there.

Hey Ash! You noted Genbo as not being "free", is there like a certain "hidden list" of champs only known to devs that are only available or unlocked when purchasing shards or something? Would a FTP account still have the same chance to pull Genbo or other champs if not a single cent has been spent in this game? I've thought this may be the case many times while saving shards for an event, like "x" grouping of champs will be available to those who spend "x" amount in the game - meanwhile it's not openly discussed by Plarium lol. Like by now I should have Septimus LOL; 4 yrs FTP and still only have the shitty Leggos from shard pulls.

Does Alika need to be fully booked?
A REALLY underrated is Dark Elhain. Free for EVERYONE over time. She gives herself the Attack up with her nuke but if she gets frozen then gets even more value. Also her AoE having a Decrease Speed helps a ton in FW/DT early stages.
I still use her against Tormund Teams and just 2 shot.
I'm a 18 months into the game with only 5 stars left to completing faction wars but need to 3-star Undead Horde. I just 6 starred Dark Elhain today and she could campaign farm 12-3 from level 23 on as long as I didn't auto and from 37 on I could leave it on auto. At around 20-25 seconds she isn't going to replace Skullcrown at 10 seconds, but I slept on her too long. Just have to figure out with Husk, UDK, and Seeker as my achors, whether to use her to replace Seducer or Volgoth.
She is not rlly worth 60 can work early and in a couple situational things... but there are better nukes there

Would you say Errol is a good swap for Galek? I'm practically at the end of early game, although I haven't got Arbiter or Scyl yet, but I've hit Stage 20+ on all dungeons now EXCEPT Fire Knight, but with Coldheart recently acquired I'm thinking it might be doable.

I started with Athel, first ancient shard I pulled Elanril. Athel never made it past 50 after that lol. Elanirl is beast.
Poor Tallia, I seldom hear anyone talking about her Arena Nuke potential but shes a beast and definately under-rated in my opinion. Great video though as always!
Tallia is under-rated because she is underpowered, I have her level 50/5 star ascended and it's a thumbs down for me, she needs a massive buff.

Arndulf looks fun, but it's a regret to max out. I wuoldn't invest in Tarshon either. There is no point in trying to get those champs to replace Aethel becouse you can easilly get better ones on the way.
When it comes to Elhain - Yakarl! One AOE, yet so much controll with turnmeeter deplicion and freezes. Fair replacement
to me.

I fully booked occult brawler a long while back, but I never actually used him...I felt like I just never found a spot for him. If his poisons didn't require accuracy I'd probably use him.... otherwise I just use gnishak, dark kael, or teodor
