    By far, the most educational and highest quality Classic Mini video series. Please film more to address Classic Mini maintenance and upgrades - they're hundreds of thousands of viewers looking for them!

    Very clear instructions take care on the roads in an older car as not everything is easy to check.

    One note is if you plan to remove the rubber cones it's much easier to remove them with the subframe still in the car for 2 reasons. You can use the weight of the car to help compress them and when using the notorious spring compressor you don't have to brace the subframe to stop it twisting when you compress the cones. Very well done video, great camera angles catching all the details which are so often lacking.

    On my 63, I just undid the bolts and lines and lifted the body off the engine/sub-frame assembly and rolled it back. Easy Pezy.

    Thank you for all your great videos. I have followed and used your expertise to rebuild my 1976 Leyland Mini. I have a issue with tower bolts installation. I have replaced Hi/Los and rubber cones and now i cannot start the tower bolls in the thread. Is there a correct way of installing them. Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi, do you need to remove the whole subframe to polly bush the rubber seals between the frame and body?

    Just about to remove my subframe and the video was extremely helpful - thank you for this and all of the other videos. (I am a 61 yrs old but a complete beginner on car restoration so need all the help and simple instructions I can find) - just one point though is that you didn’t mention dis one ting the brake lies which on my car are fixed through the sub frame. I will be draining these and disconnecting them first.

    • @Stevestonmotorco
      @Stevestonmotorco  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ah yeah, good point about the brake lines, Stephen. Depending on how your lines are run you might get away with just disconnecting the hard line at the junction block where the front lines split to left and right.

    Great video..... Am waiting for motor and will assemble transaxle and put most of engine as one unit.
    Will have to think about how to lift car over the assembly.............any suggestions???

      @Stevestonmotorco  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Fred Grey I have installed engines both ways and I find it easier to install the subframe first and put the engine through the top. Last engine I did had it installed in 45 min. Either way works though

    Great video - What about the bend in the tie rod? Is that normal?

    • @Stevestonmotorco
      @Stevestonmotorco  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks. The tie rods look very straight. Do you mean the tension control rod towards the front? That one is bent badly and needs to be replaced.

    • @Stevestonmotorco
      @Stevestonmotorco  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Could you clarify if you mean a tow bar for towing the car from the wheels, or if you are asking about tow points?
