Looks like an inexperienced driver who thinks he's invincible.

Tiago Manel My wife has a Citroen C1 which is basically the same car as the Peugeot and they can shift when it is down hill but crap anywhere else. My VW Passat can shift but I broke the turbo on it while overtaking lol.

Actually the Highway Code says "If the area is bordered by a broken white line, you should not enter the area UNLESS IT IS NECESSARY and you can see that it is safe to do so." Now ask yourself... what made it a necessity for him to overtake? Traffic was moving at the speed limit, there was no obstruction. I think it's clear who the dickhead is here.

It's perfectly legal and legitimate to enter an area marked with cross hatching and surrounded by a broken white line to overtake. What's necessary is never specified. Of course, one of the key factors in choosing whether or not to overtake anywhere is the consideration of whether or not it's necessary. If you're not approaching an overtaking lane ahead or turning off shortly, the desire to go faster than the vehicle in front is necessity enough. Would you consider overtaking a cyclist necessary? How about a tractor? So why not any other vehicle going more slowly than your preferred speed? A wide road with cross hatching down the middle is a particularly safe sort to overtake on because you can move well out for a view and keep well away from the vehicle you're overtaking, plus there's the possibility of squeezing by something coming the other way as a very last resort if you've somehow not planned things properly, though it should never come to that.
This guy was cutting things fine, tailgating and being anything but smooth and patient. Suggesting other drivers should police the roads themselves and "sort out" drivers like him is a slippery slope towards even more dangerous warfare on the road as people make bad situations worse to make points about how they don't like what others are doing. There's always someone harder and crazier than you out there.

I'd be worried if you had a UK driving licence mate, you wouldn't stand a chance of passing your test, the hatched area is there for a reason - to highlight an area where you are not to enter. So it in front of the law & its likely to end up with points on your licence and most likely a fine. The red pug in this clip is driving like an absolute dick, tailgating bullying people to let him in and dangerously overtaking. My message is simple, if you wanna have a race and wanna drive like a dick get a banger and take it to a racetrack and drive it as you please 😂

Hallo, Century Films is making a two-part documentary series about speed, and one of the directors is interested in using part of this clip in his film. Do you own the footage? May we have permission to use part of the clip in the series? Please do get in touch with me at sue.collins@centuryfilmsltd.com. Best wishes, Sue Collins
