Hey Phil! Loved your video and hearing about your upcoming challenge, "The Druids Challenge" along the ancient Ridgeway. Three ultras in three days-wow, that's ambitious! The scenic route and the poppies you spotted look incredible. Keep up the awesome work and enjoy every step of the journey. Looking forward to more updates and interviews on your channel. Best of luck, and remember to keep having fun out there on the trails! 😄🏃‍♂

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look Mihai. Yeah its around 28 miles each day so certainly will be physically tough for me but we both know, we must only think of the mile we are in right?! Hope your keeping fit and well my man.

That is going to be one epic adventure Phil! The NRG events are great. Very well organised. Look forward to seeing how you get on during the build up to race day. 😎🤘

Hey Ben! Yeah I need to get my head around what and how the gear is organised for a three day event! Wishing you the very best of luck in the NDW 100 next weekend mate!

I think excitement and fear are the perfect combo of feelings at this stage! Can't wait to see how you get on. Is it a hilly race?
I tend to stick to plans quite well, though if I miss a run, I'll usually just skip that one and continue the plan from the next. I'm sure if you do the biggest chunk of the training you can fit in, you'll be ready to go mate 👍🏻🏃‍♂️

Cheers Mark. Always good to hear from you mate. I have to say its bound to be ALOT more hilly than where I can train for it unless I head up to the Norfolk coast!! Hoping your keeping fit and well. Any races for you on the horizon?

@@trailrunningphil that's ok. Hills are a chance to walk eh? 🙂 No plans just yet. I'm training consistently in case anything catches my eye though.

Well, it be great to tow the line with you at something in the future mate. Perhaps next years shires and spires in Northant's ? Its a 35 miler of very mixed terrain and after this years attempt, I'm definatley training properly for that!!

@@trailrunningphil that does sound like a great idea, as long as I'm available. We'll keep in touch. Hopefully there are plenty of places available.

Great way to explore the Ridgeway Phil - enjoy. I guess some back to back long runs will be very helpful in training so you get used to starting a day on tired legs. I’ve never done multi day events so great to see how you get on !

I have enjoyed years of multi day walking so It feels a very natural step 😊 My aim is to either walk or run all of the national trails before my legs give up on me!! 😂 thanks for watching and yes those back to back sessions will be important for sure 👍

Always good to see that other people get lost as well Phil. The event sounds challenging, but you do have the experience of the St Cuthbert's Way and multi-day running. Hope the training goes well. Bet it is hard to fit the hill work in up there in Norfolk. Good luck mate.

Oh Im just going to accept that I cant train on hills mate. I either have to visit the gym and go on a stepper machine or travel 45 mins or so and get to the coast to get some hills! I will just get as running fit as I can and focus on the strength & conditioning so at least I my body can try to put up with it all! Thanks for watching as ever mate, take care.

Hi Phil, this 3 day ultra (did you say it was called Druids challenge?) sounds like an interesting venture. Don't worry about running in November, it's not so bad. I know what you mean about seeing certain nature and it reminding you of your childhood. The poppies were gorgeous. I think that bird was a female pheasant not a grouse. Grouse are normally higher up and they are bred for hunting. All thr best with your training.

Thanks Olga. Yeah those birds were strange! They were running through the undergrowth very unbirdlike!

I'm not qualified to say if an idea is completely nuts...

Druids Challenge sounds great Phil, an excellent challenge. I think doing what you can do is important with training and not trying to cram too much. It's always better to be at the start line slightly undertrained rather than over-trained so not a bad thing to have under the ideal mileage or time in training. I like to have a general plan but adapt it to how I'm feeling and how my body is reacting to it.

Thanks for your input and of course taking the time to watch the video. Great points there. I guess I have been caught out not doing ENOUGH training in the last one day event I did and really struggled in the last 5-6 miles and found it really hard. If I get a really solid 3 month block of training in I'm sure I should be ok. This FKT your doing, is it a male+female attempt? Ive heard that if your doing it as a couple, you can claim it as a different cat than supported or non-supported.

@@trailrunningphil no probs at all. It'll be a solo attempt. Hoping to give it a go over the next couple of months!
