Ive been dealing with this for years, multiple surgeries but they keep coming back, docs wont prescribe pain meds thatare strong enough to let me walk, now my knees are messed up and my hip has alot of pain, i think its due to a change of walking style to compensate for the pain, pay attention to your feet, trust me you do not want these
Been suffering for almost 3 years and guess what I’m only 16!! The doctor said my case is rare because it’s in my heel and my age. My feet are killing me and doc doesn’t recommend surgery due to the placement
I’ve had this since the age of 12 I’m 26 now. I’ve been researching surgery and now I’m not sure it’s worth it. Maybe it’s just something that we gotta live with it’s so unfortunate

The age of this video plus comments might not reach anyone. I've actually just recently bothered to look up this condition. I see that it can be hereditary and I remember my father having surgery for his in the mid 90s. It was never a conversation so I never really knew much more than he had bumps on the bottoms of his feet that were removed. I myself have had these on both of my feet for years, they didn't bother me much that I can remember, but I had them for some years, and one day I realized they had gone away on their own. It may have also been around the time that I started getting foot massages, but I can't completely remember. Now, one has come back and it's probably been a couple of years and until recently it was only bothering me from an aesthetic standpoint. Over the past few months it has begun to bother me more from pain. I feel that it's mostly from the work shoes that I've been wearing. Over the past few days as I've been actually researching this, seeing ways to possibly deal with it, I have started to see some improvement since I've been massaging it with my knuckle as best as I can. For me I know it's more likely that it's due to my footwear and hereditary. I need to start getting professional foot massages again too. It sucks knowing that I can get them at anytime and may one day need surgery, I really hope not, but knowing what I know now, I can at least try my own home remedies
Definitive treatment for plantar fibromatosis is surgical excision. There is very little evidence that any other treatment is effective. The problem with surgery: the fascia should be resected aggressively to reduce the risk of recurrence. This can cause complications. 1. Painful scars may follow. 2. The mechanical support to the foot from the plantar fascia is compromised. 3. Other foot pains may develop. Surgery is indicated only in the worst cases when daily pain interferes with activities. A more promising treatment on the horizon: clostridium collagenase hemolytic injection to break down the collagen growth. Not yet FDA cleared, this remains under investigation.
Miranda please go for tennis ball message and tapping in the centre of foot. Mine recovered with these two procedures but takes at least two weeks time. Stay blessed
Hello Dr. Thank you for the information. I happen to have a large lump potruding from the arch of my foot that has grown from the size of a pea to a marble between summer 2018 and January 2019. It hurts after walking all day but is otherwise ok as long as I don't touch it much. I have not seen a Dr. Is this possibly the same thing?
I think I got mine wearing shoes that were too tight (not wide enough) and without enough support. Don’t think I’ll need surgery cause PT helped woth them a lot but these suckers hurt! It’s like walking around w marbles in your sock all day
mine can get very painful. feels like walking with a golfball in your shoe. but, when i cut out inflammatory foods like sugar, sugar substitutes (especially), refined grains, and alcohol this shrinks down and I dont know its there. when i start to cheat with those foods, it starts to come back
Do you know of any place that can make shoes or insoles that have a cut out of where someone would have those lumps under their feet? My mom has this and it’s very difficult for her to find shoes w no arch cus the arches push up against her lumps making it painful to walk
The best reliever for plantar... is to use toe spacers and take supplements like vit d3 magnesium glycinate and..etc.... to strengthen your feet.....u ll be ok...this is my personal expereince...am getting rid of it..after so many trails...give a try..
Mine are bigger than that and no one will remove them. I have on both feet😔. It is very painful and I cant walk or stand for extended periods. Getting worse, had to give up my job as a contractor and im only 45. I guess the chance of them coming back is more likely than not. Cortisone does absolutely nothing! They have a newer plasma injection and was wondering how it works.
Satanic Panic yo man just keep going to doctors.. I had a thing like this but they said it was a “tumor” I dont think it was I think the doctor really just said that so that he could do surgery. I went to about 10 doctors before they listened to me because I was in school and couldnt do the mile run or enjoy my life i couldnt walk for more than 10 minutes and my foot feeling like its being stabbed or cramping up ... Seriously keep trying tell someone to remove it for you. I got mine done at 16 but was having the pains since i was 5 years old . No one believed me! Just find a right doctor man i swear dont give up
Hello satanic panic. You can consider getting it removed. I had a huge ass plantar fibromatosis under my right foot since. It was small when I was a kid but I guess it grew too as I was growing up . By the time I was 11 it had become huge , almost bigger than an egg. That’s when my parents decided that we need to get it removed. At first I was worried but then I got it removed. And for the first few days I couldn’t even put my foot on the ground as I was so worried but then slowly with my moms help I started walking and now I am totally fine. It was a single huge mass . Well now I am 25 and I it has not recurred . So I would recommend you to get it removed if it’s bothering you a lot . Take care
You can have radiation treatment for this and Dupuytren's on the hands. It's painless and should stop progression and hopefully reduce any bumps. Look at DART in FB.
My feet hurt last week it was p s in full to walk on them,I came home, took my shoes off, there was a soft lump between my fore foot, heel, never ha e I had any thing like it so I put a 7ce pack under it till till the ice pack melted then took a warm shower,it went down, the next day it seem to turn a little purple, then went away,I thought it was weird, cause My foot had been sore lately but I've never had some thing like that before

Is it now approved by the FDA and we’re able to get it?

Probably and I have the same thing
Yes I am also having lump in my right foot probably same
So tell me the treatment
How do you get those
My understanding is the fascia there gets micro tears and as the body piles on tissue to heal the tears, the lump develops.
