Our neighbors here in central NC just had a World Central Kitchen fundraiser two weeks ago (last year they raised $47,000 I believe). It warms my heart to know WCK was one of the first to show up to help those in need 200 miles from us.
The thing is, each of us is capable of offering love and support, even on a large scale like Andres -- he's a man with an idea, and the heart to dedicate himself to that idea, and LOOK at what he's created. It's amazing. Even if our own ideas of ways to help others are smaller, every little bit helps. My hope is that this crisis brings Americans together again.
Theres pictures of jose landing in Hot Springs NC! Hes keeping my people/family/friends fed, plus the morale boost of seeing a WCK helicopter land with hot meals is huge!
May God Bless the hungry, homeless, hopeless and helpless. Comfort them, and strengthen them, and the volunteers here. I pray for Peace and comfort for all suffering loss and hardship.
How Andres can do this anywhere, nearly everywhere & the U.S. government fails time and time again is incomprehensible. In times where humanity seems a rare thing, Andres & his teams represent like no one else.

There is a lot of price gouging too. $10 for a gallon of gas. Dollar general is absolutely empty and people are limiting what can be bought. We need help please. Many of us cannot get out of our driveways. We live on Huntsville Road. A dead end street. Could someone please bring water, food, supplies, medicine, oxygen!!! Please many people don’t have cell service either. We desperately need help. 😢
I’m in Glenwood. A part of Marion. We are blocked by trees across driveway as are many of my neighbors. We haven’t heard or seen anyone from national guard, many places are closed or out of provisions. Gas places are out of gas. Plus we are all running on empty and not sure if we can make it to get gas which is cash only and no ATMs working. Just wondering if anyone knows we are here!! Haven’t heard a peep about Glenwood. Thank you.
Nobody has even mentioned Marion in the news. We are a part of Marion called Glenwood community. Many elderly on our dead end street. Please we need help. There is a baptist church in town here but we can’t get to the church or out of our driveway. Please we are begging for help!!!!😢😢😢
