Thanks Dale. Glad it was useful. There will be a few more videos in the pfSense series coming. Just put up part 8 today! Anyway thanks for your kind words and thanks for watching :)
Spaceinvader One im a hardcore fan of yours as soon as i start working i will sent u donation stuck with dad now he is not well he had a stroke soo till he is ok i will be stuck at home with him
These pfsense videos are awesome! I have done a similar thing with an IOT vlan with my Ubiquitu APs, although I did the blocking of the LAN net a different way according to online tutorials. I like this way better. Could you please do a future vid on pfsense LAGG, maybe more on migrating an already assigned LAN to LAGG. Thanks Space!
These videos are great, been really helpful as a newbie. But where are the rest?! Are you doing anymore than these 8? OPENVPN, Remote access etc would be really handy.
@spaceinvader one , you always do an awesome vedio, thank u so much. But did all of ur guys got the public ipv4 ip from yr ISP? In my case, I just got a nat ipv4 ip, but got a public ipv6 ip from my ISP, so could you pls kindly do the vedio incloud ipv6 ip setup? Much appreciate for that. Thank you again
I tried to block the WAN net from an interface and it didn't work apart from blocking the LAN I basically replaced your IOT interface rule !LAN example with !WAN hoping it would the internet on that interface - it didn't ..any ideas why ? Or how do block an interface from the Internet (WAN)
Anyway you can make a video on specific devices accessing other devices from different subnets? For example, A firestick on a restricted subnet trying to have access to Plex on a different subnet?
Even though I don't need any of this info myself anymore, I sure wish this had been made when I did need it. Firewall rules are one of those things you really just don't understand at all while randomly experimenting and failing over and over. Then, one day it just clicks in your head and finally, you understand how pfSense works with the rules. I would be willing to bet there are a lot of people out there who will really be able to benefit from this one in particular. I still like watching though, I like seeing how other people explain things like this and maybe pick up a few specific techniques along the way. Good job dude, keep it up! As an aside, have you looked into any other ways to do ISCSI on unRaid? I JUST set up my first unRaid server thanks to your videos and using something like a barebones Ubuntu server VM seems like it would have less overhead. There has to be more than one option there and I would really appreciate you revisiting that and getting some other options. At least till Lime Tech decide to grace us with native ISCSI support. 😜
Another great video thanks man. Everything working fantastically apart from plex which no longer picks up the server anymore. I take it you don't use it at all now just emby? I just can't stomach setting everything up again 🙁
Like your tutorials. I'm setting up a VMware home lab and need pfSense + Bind DNS server for resolving host names. A tutorial would be much appreciated. Thank you.
There is no point changing the source from any to *.net as it would be impossible to use a different network from behind that network as pfsense isn't listening on any other subnets than the one you defined for that interface.
hi sir, may i request the next tutorial is block all DNS and manually add entries for the sites you want. for example. block all website but allow gmail and hangouts google drive Thanks in advance sir.
I do like how you explain this with no crap included. Nice work.
These keep getting better. I love it when I get a notification of your new videos. Keep up the great work!
Ed, you are a deadset legend, thanks for putting all your time and effort into making these videos

You are the man Ed! You super helped me out.
Thanks Zein, glad it was useful. thanks for watching:)
Learned something new. invert in mine mind had a whole different meaning and you clear it up. It makes more sense.
Hi Ivan. Yes the invert function is a bit confusing, glad this helped. Thanks for watching :)
Thank you for taking the time to create such informative tutorials. I have learned a great deal from them.
Your welcome. Glad that you find them useful. Thanks for watching :)

Awesome Video
A GREAT explanation.
I'm amazed that your videos don't have more views! I wonder if this is yet another example of google censoring valuable information.
Thank you sir! Can I use a plex media server like your emby?
Anyway you can make a video on specific devices accessing other devices from different subnets? For example, A firestick on a restricted subnet trying to have access to Plex on a different subnet?
Awesome video as usual, thank you!

Ty for tuto alias 11:31
Did you actually test this? thoroughly?
