    I thought I was going crazy. I can pedal the Enduro uphill faster than the stumpy evo. I’m 6’4” and I sized down from S5 to S4 and I’m very glad I did! The absolute best setup is riding the enduro where a shuttle is available and riding my Kenevo SL where I have to pedal! 🤣

    EXACTLY!!! I also have knee pain if knees is too much forward. Great you wrote that.

    I’ve had a few XC bikes over the years. I’ve recently gotten into longer travel bikes and I bought a S-WORKS enduro with flight attendant. I can say it’s got a lot of the same feel as the current S-WORKS epic in terms of quick responsive feel while sprinting. It’s hard to explain but these Enduros are quick, they climb like goats! I put a 36T on mine and I’m loving the bike in general!

      I would love to try flight attendant. I think the way it works and how it biases to open and uses the pedal sensor makes a lot more sense than something like live valve ever did

      I also have the enduro with flight attendant. I feel like it’s having an extra gear when that suspension closes up on climbs. Recently started riding my local XC trails to improve my endurance. It’s unstoppable.

    nice review! here's a lil someting ive cocked up from the 2 years or owning a s4 and s2
    the enduro is the best and abit "boring" bike in my opinion, im riding a s4 at 5'4, its requires full commitment to berms and if u arent a hard charger that will be painful and hard. On the positive side you can do whatever you want on this bike cause it will plow through anything u throw at it, and the faster u go the more stability it has so your confidence will sky rocket! size down if u want a more agile bike, size up if u want a more stable bike in high speeds at the gnarly dh tracks, doing trial riding with this bike in my opinion is extremely "boring" cause its plow through without effort!

    • @KlintonSilvey
      @KlintonSilvey  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I agree. At my home mountain, boring is definitely good.

      5'4" on a S4?

  • @andremtb480

    What crank length are you running? Might have to do with your knee pain. I would definitely slide the seat forward and run at least a 40mm stem. Feels so much better than 32mm stem with a slack HTA. Helps keep weight forward on the front tire when you're charging.

    • @KlintonSilvey
      @KlintonSilvey  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      170s. After dropping the stem spacer 5 mil it all feels really good now

      I agree with the crank length comment. I switched to 165s two years ago and haven’t had any knee pain since

    I just sold my s4 frame I’m contemplating getting an s3. It was just slightly long for my riding and I’m 5’10”. I was going to pick up something else but I miss the way the enduro pedals and feel like there’s nothing for the price out there that’s as good. Do you think there will be a v2 next year?

    • @KlintonSilvey
      @KlintonSilvey  ปีที่แล้ว

      Not sure about the v2. Have barely heard a rumor but it seems like it's time. But this bike is so dialed you wonder how much better a v2 is really going to be. I don't think a steeper seat tube is going to be any better, I don't run it as slack as I could as it is. Other than components, is it really going to be something that you're going to go faster on or have more fun? Maybe, but it also might mean that you can get a killer deal on the current version.

    • @mspinks595
      @mspinks595 ปีที่แล้ว

      I just heard internet talk nothing substantial but yes it might be due but the bike is awesome as it is. Hope they don’t change much maybe just reinforce the head tube and yeah they might steeper the sta 2 degrees we will see. I agree with you I don’t like super steep seat tube angles it feels weird to me on flatter terrain. Decisions, decisions…I do prefer a more playful bike. If I were racing or doing more bike park probably would have stuck with the s4

      I have an S4 Enduro and at 178 cm same high. At first I was feeling the bike was a boat,but put the shock in the high setting and a 30mm stem (I have one from Newmen) and boom,the bike is 100% perfect weapon. I do not think you can have a better big bike or do all 1 bike,it pedals beautifully and goes downhill like a champ.

  • @rubenvor
    @rubenvor ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Im in the market for a new enduro frame, and the Enduro is winning. Seems it was something ahead of its time back in 2020 when it came out, and currently it's still not outdated at all. Geometry, kinematics and travel wise, it makes much more sense than a lot of new bikes.

    • @KlintonSilvey
      @KlintonSilvey  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yep. Most people don't even run it in the lower/slacker position. The frame weight is slightly higher than some of the bikes that have come out in the past few months (2023) but I really don't think that matters for enduro.

    • @rubenvor
      @rubenvor ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@KlintonSilvey you are right, weight wise it's probably sitting in between an alloy and a late carbon frame.
      The rumors says Specialized is launching a new Enduro for 2024, which means this older version will lower its price, and that will be my time to buy one hehe 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼

    • @KlintonSilvey
      @KlintonSilvey  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@rubenvor not to mention new models often have issues that surface in the first year which are then *quietly* fixed for the next. MY 25 or 26 will probably be mint. I'll be interested to see which direction they go with this new model. Fewer pivots would be nice if you could maintain the ride quality 😅

    • @rubenvor
      @rubenvor ปีที่แล้ว

      @@KlintonSilvey hehe, yeah, pivot galore on the current Enduro, but very well thought, weight on the lower side of the frame, "scissor system" for more control of the leverage ratio and progression control. It's gonna be hard to come with something better.
      Even Intense is having the same systems on their current DH prototype.

    I agree with you on the seat tubes getting a little too steep lately. I’m 5.9 with long legs and a short torso. On my SC 5010, I’m on my arms and hands too much. I was getting shoulder and neck strain. It’s taken a lot of cockpit work and moving the seat all the way back to get it right.

    I'm 5 11.5 can I ride an S3? Do you know what differences Id expect to see between the s3 and s4?

    • @KlintonSilvey
      @KlintonSilvey  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You definitely can. I have a really really fast friend who is 5'11" who can absolutely smoke me and he rides an S3 enduro

    I’ve set more climbing PRs on my Enduro than on my 125mm Norco Optic. It’s long and heavy, but is the most capable bike I’ve owned.

    • @KlintonSilvey
      @KlintonSilvey  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Throw some cross country tires on that thing and you can really carry speed over rough terrain. I think that's a part of cross country that people forget, especially if you're not just climbing straight up for long amounts of time. The bike might not accelerate as fast as a short travel super light bike, but once you get it up to speed, if the terrain is flowy, it doesn't slow down when it hits the bumps
