The freaky part? This was Godzilla having just woken up from a 70 year nap. He was sluggish, groggy, and clearly without his irradiated coffee in the morning, and yet he still bodied two kaiju with relative ease. You're gonna see him get a hell of a lot more active next time when he has the time to fully boot up.
Well, 'with relative ease'.... each in turn, yeah, agreed. But the two MUTOs together were kind of a problem for him.

Before Godzilla Minus One, this one was one of the best Godzilla movies ever at that time. The design, sound effect and characterization of him was one of the best of him.

One thing I admire about Monsterverse/Legendary Godzilla is the sound design of its roar. My theatrical experience of those particular moments when he roars gave me chills of excitement. Usually enough to shake the seats in the theater. It’s awesome!

I love that through most of the film they only give you glimpses of godzilla then they show you him in all his badass glory
the 4 movies in this Godzilla universe in order are “Godzilla” 2014, “Kong: Skull island” 2016, “Godzilla king of the monsters” 2019, and “Godzilla vs Kong” 2021, and there’s a new Godzilla movie coming out march 29th, called “Godzilla x Kong the new empire” (the x is silent) there is also 2 series in this universe called “Skull island” and “Monarch Legacy of monsters” (which I really recommend!!!)

Awesome fact: elements of the faces of bears, dogs, and eagles were incorporated into the design of Godzilla's face to make it look more majestic.
His movements and fighting were based on bears, komodo dragons, lions and wolves.

TimotheeReacts if both of y'all love birds thought the standard Blue Atomic Breath (a Laser Beam of pure Radiation) of this incarnation of Godzilla was badass then wait till y'all get a load of the Red Spiral Ray which's like his Ultimate Atomic Breath upgrade that doesn't come in2 play until sometime later & he'll only use it when extremely p'd/ticked off enough!
I actually liked how the 2014 atomotic breath was more flaming than a beam.

Godzilla is one hell of an entertaining action monster film that was much better than I thought it would be and a great start to the MonsterVerse! While it's not perfect and I can see where people are coming from when they say they didn't get into this movie as much but for me, it’s just the perfect definition of a popcorn blockbuster.
It certainly reignited my interest in Godzilla after the 1998 film, in an impactful way.
Hey Tim, I don’t know if there any issues with doing reactions to Netflix series, but there is a tv series (besides monarch) on Netflix that is part of the monsterverse universe, although it is in an anime like style like last airbender or Naruto, it’s called “Skull Island” a lot of people don’t know about it but it’s really good

The budget on most monsterverse movies is over $100 million for the first.. considerably more for the rest of the films...
Godzilla Minus One cost around $10-15 million to make... won the Oscar for best special effects.. and was overall a better film than anything Hollywood has produced (in any genre) in the last several years!
Minus One was so good, they could have taken Godzilla out of it and replaced him with a natural disaster and it STILL would have been the best movie of 2023!!!

funny coincidence that Elizabeth Olsen and Aaron Taylor-Johnson in this movie played a married couple and a year later they plays the Maximoff Twins in Avengers Age of Ultron,considering that in he comic Wanda and Pietro has an inceustuous relantionship

There's a series called Monarch Legacy of Monsters that deals more with the human perspective and how the world handles the events of this movie since you mentioned wanting to see a "Boring" monster movie 😅

Rail was not build until a few years ago in Hawaii, still only has 6 stops, still not connected to the airport. We in Hawaii had a chuckle about that ("Look its' finished in the movie!")
Joe Brody, died due to his back giving out from carrying the first chunk of the movie
Also I recently found out that Godzilla veteran Akira Takarada was going to have a cameo as an immigrations officer (i think). Takarada was one of the leads of the very first Godzilla film btw.
I think he recently passed away.
Gareth Edwards' Godzilla(2014) the best movie in the MonsterVerse. Really the only good one because it goes downhill after this one. Edwards should've rejected Disney's offer to direct a Star Wars movie and stuck with Godzilla. Maybe with the new Jurassic World movie he is attached to direct, and returning to the monster/creature genre, we could see Edwards return to form as well.
If the films appears dark to you it is because the original home media release for DVD/Bluray was a bad transfer. It did not look this way in cinemas. I believe the 4k Bluray release was an improvement.
I heard later on that Edwards knew that a lot of what he had done with this movie as going to be changed, and it was, so that is partly why he went with the offer to do Rogue One. Ad you can plainly see, all the directors and writers of the next movies changed or dropped most of what Edwards brought into this film. I do not like any of the other films.

Gareth Edwards is a great director
He is about to direct Jurassic World movie (darker and gritty scarier version of the novel)
He should direct future godzilla movies and jurassic Park and horror movies in the future
Hmm, he would replace zack snyder for Man of Steel batman v Superman dawn of justice and steven Spielberg Jurassic Park, and they would go for the darker gritty scarier ominous horror movie route about man made kaiju monster and the destruction in Metropolis and post 9/11 vibes in Man Of Steel Terraforming attack Metropolis

After the films, watch Monarch Legacy of Monsters, it takes place between this film and Godzilla 2 King of Monsters, but it's also interesting to watch after all.
Rewatching this movie so many times, now I feel like the dudes on buildings shooting were probably doing the right thing since 1 small arms fire wasn’t hurting Godzilla and 2 at the very least the unfamiliar stimuli would at least get him to move away from the building with people on it.
ATJ and Lizzy Olsen were married before they were siblings, since Age of Ultron came out a year later

I saw this in theaters with my mom and sister and we all loved it. I think the MUTOs are two of the greatest villains of all time. They were well-conceived, their design was original, their physiology was fantastic, being able to reproduce asexually especially, and they were very worthy opponents to Godzilla.

The whole thing about Aaron and Lizzie playing siblings is that many people thinks that they acted in Godzilla after playing siblings but is the other way around, they played a couple and then played siblings lol
Y’all gotta watch some of the old classic movies. Nobody really does reactions to them at all, outside of maybe the 1954 original.
It’s worth noting that this movie came out a year BEFORE Age of Ultron, so Elizabeth Olsen and Aaron Taylor Johnson played a couple first in this movie, THEN played siblings for Marvel.
Also, I will never not be upset by the decision to kill of Cranston about a third of the way through. Especially when he was the main focus of the movie’s marketing (aside from Godzilla himself, obviously).
Breaking Bad ended September 2013, this came out May 2014… so he was filming it during the last season of Breaking Bad

You cracked me up when you said he's just walking, not breaking any buildings, Godzilla as he was leaving, lol,..no he's just walking through the wreckage,..welcome to the monsterverse young people, and yess your right, what happens with the insurance, people have to do battle with insurance companies just to get claims through for hurricanes, tornadoes, flooding, or just cause a tree fell on your house,..can you imagine having to try and get a claim cause some giantic humongous creatures stomped on your house,..irradiated your car with atomic breath,..lol,..and it's not like you won't have proof, like your making up some fantasy, its all over the news, you probably have footage from someone, a neighbor's phone,..your phone,..look at all those people at the airport as big boy steps up, not running, screaming for sure, but also for sure with their phones out filming,..lol that is exactly how we humans would react,..do keep going, love watching newcomers to the monsterverse, watch these movies, have been a fan since the late 1960's,..can't tell you how happy it makes me that these characters have had a reinventing, its awesome,..so many, many shows as a kid have been reinvented, as a kid the only thing or next best thing other than it being real, is that these movies, have had a resurgence, and improved resurgence, shows I saw as a kid, Star Trek, DC, Batman, James Bond(well that one's like Godzilla, Star Trek, has been popping up along the way), Star Wars, The Twilight Zone, and now Godzilla and the monsterverse, 2001 Space Odyssey is a stand forever masterpiece, I think, I don't want an improved cgi movie, I want the space station in that to become a reality, but for now these old childhood favs will do,..do keep going, enkoy, Godspeed, Peace ✌
After KotM, 2014 version is still my best second despite the recent ones having a good audience score just because of one reason. The weight.

A solid start to the Monsterverse but still flawed. Especially with the human story and the constant teasing. That is really annoying. And a bit hard to see. Still way better than the 98 movie.

Ah yes, the start of the recent MonsterVerse franchise intended to bring back classic giant monsters, and it's not just in the form of feature films. The MonsterVerse also has these tie-in comics that are worth checking out: Godzilla: Awakening, Skull Island: The Birth of Kong, Godzilla: Aftershock, Kingdom Kong, Godzilla Dominion, and Godzilla x Kong: The Hunted. Oh yeah, and then there's that crossover with DC, called Justice League vs. Godzilla vs. Kong.
There's also the tie-in TV shows Skull Island (2023) and Monarch: Legacy of Monsters.
And there is also 'Godzilla: Fight or Flight'. 😅😊

This Godzilla movie was definitely different than the one from the 90’s. Not only it starred Bryan Cranston who does great acting in this, but also it kicked off the MonsterVerse. It was a good movie for what it is. Although I couldn’t help but notice the fact that in this movie Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Elizabeth Olsen play a married couple, yet in Age of Ultron they play brother and sister. That must have been an awkward two years for both of them. 🫤
The footage of the nuke going off at the starr is real footage of the nuclear testing they did.
