Plants grew fine before espona starter bio tone fertilizer existed and the same still holds true now. Shoot, most natives with grow out of a dusty rusted out engine block
Congrats on your newest coming 'plantu' on the PLAHNET, I think I heard right, and yall are expecting, hope it goes well, hope you know, now the real garden grows! 😊
Just in case you didn't know, sago palms are toxic to dogs. Our neighbor's puppy died after eating the fruit/nut. I always have to give that PSA because some dogs (like mine) are foragers. Also, thanks for the tip on the Houston Dogwood, the flowers looks like pentas!
Channels on point. Dont change a thing. From SA but livin in cali now. 9b zone still. Keep it real, content and personality. I was looking for garden content exactly like this. Grandmother had a mountain laurel. We'd scratch the beans on the pavement and burn each other with them. Where is the chile pequin at??
Honestly that sago was not dead! Best to keep in shade, cut off all the fronds and keep watered it will come back in 6-12 months. I know I live in Pensacola Florida and saved dozen just like it. Other than the plant on dude!
I need some seed. Hahahaha! I lost 3 but all the rest are thriving so it's still decent odds considering they were on the side of the road for god knows how long.
Congratulations on the baby Paul! May their life be full of great health, love, happiness, joy and everything their heart desires! As always a great video with lots of ideas for native plants. I have recently planted a native type of hibiscus and it's absolutely "attacked" by the pollinators! Much love from Greece!
Hey Paul! I love all your videos! I live in Houston right by NRG stadium and I’m planning to rip out all the grass in my front yard and create a native landscape! I would love to get any tips you have. I was planning on doing this in September so I’m in intense planning mode!!
You're having a little 'native' of your very own, congratulations Paul! Cannot wait to see the new bundle of joy! For now, take advantage of being able to sleep late and sleep as much as possible. My blessings to you and mama for an easy birth and a happy and healthy little one!
You can have some of my free, fresh bluebonnet seeds for the grassy area in your backyard! Plant time for seeds is prime for August-September. (Soak 24-48 hours prior in distilled or filtered water.) Let me know if you want some!
I live in San Antonio. I'm too scared to plant anything anymore; it's just too hot. How do you get your plants to acclimate when planting this late in the season? I realize most of your plants are drought tolerant, but are you watering them multiple times a day? Also, congrats on your new baby!
Plant in October. Use Natives and we'll adapted plants. Go to Rainbow Gardens or a local nursery. Do not buys plants from Home Depot or Lowes, they know nothing about what they are selling there!
No, I may water them once every three days or so. Over watering can actually hurt certain plants. If they look bad then I'll drown them in water other than that I water every few days.
Hey Paul: Your hand-held selfie stick camera moves around A LOT! Can you use a tripod or something to steady the camera? Otherwise, it makes me a little dizzy!
Love your passion for planting! It is inspiring to do and to learn more of this. I'm from H-town too. Maybe any subscriber meet ups to plant around Houston 😀?
Girl, I think your tree growing issue is that you garden midday. Evening is best for planting in hot areas. You need to water the plant before you fill the hole. It prevents air bubbles for drying out your roots. I’m in 8b in Savannah.
I watered all the plants before I planted them, didn't water the hole. But I started the video in the morning around 9am, that's when I had time to do it. I'm not overly cautious truth be told.
@@paulplantu I was chronologically watching your Plants channel. I've watched/listened to all of it. I'm, what Rich Lux would call, a "Poindexter." The difference stuck out because I watched the videos closed together. So you said zone 9b, then 9a than 9b. It's practically the same. I'm in los Angeles zone 10b.
Bro! I have to get you to check out my garden and get your creative input! I live in atascacita/ humble. I have pretty much the same type of plants you have
It’s difficult to see clearly, but make sure you’re not covering up the very top of the plants. You don’t want any soil touching the trunk of the trees. Love what you’re doing. Also love your house. Again, we need an outside house tour of your really great house 😃
Beautiful Garden~
Thank you for good sharing.

I appreciate the love! I had a Chile Pequin that I think is coming back in the corner of my yard. I def need to buy another
I love your Chanel so much I just makes my day when you post

Yeah I got it for free off the curb and it was barely starting to root but the afternoon sun was bleaching the fronds excessively in that location.
Excited for a Plantu Baby 💕🌿
That 🌴 deserves another opportunity but in a better spot and add some starter fertilizer for development of roots
I don’t have any more space for a sago, I have 4 planted on the side of my house.
Just found your channel and wow amazing! I love your love for plants especially outdoor ones! Someone’s gotta take the heat 🔥
I appreciate it, I started getting into gardening with indoor plants but you can do sooooo much more outside.
Dawg! Lookin good. Sux about the Sago Palms. I'm in CA zone 0B so we can have actual cannabis plants (6 per household) "Urth es ma plont" 😀
I need some seed. Hahahaha! I lost 3 but all the rest are thriving so it's still decent odds considering they were on the side of the road for god knows how long.

Thank you fore the well wishes!! What's the name of the hibiscus? I may need to grab one! Hahaha
I got some hibiscus 🌺this year as well, like cream colored, some are hot pink, and a nice wine color
I have never seen butterflies on my frog fruit either, but still love it. congratulations on your baby!
I saw that fly on it though, so I guess that’s what may predominant pollinate them
Your hair looks awesome in this video
Hahaha, appreciate it

So excited I’m currently in contract for my first home in Houston. I can’t wait to start gardening!
Congrats on the house! There are a ton of awesome plant options for the area!
@@paulplantu Thanks! & congrats on the baby!

Love all the pollinator plants! Awesome man! I deff think you need some native milk weed! You'll get monarch's 👍🏻
Yeah I know, just wasn’t able to grow it from seed at the beginning of the year
congratulations on the baby coming soon.
Thank you so much!!
Can we get a update video I'm excited to see how every thing uve planted is doing
Yes, just need to make some time to shoot that!
Congrats man in the baby!!
Congratulations on the baby❗️❗️❗️
wait wtf your having a kid??? congrats bro
Yessir!
What does deciduous mean? Also you need to protect yourself with a sun hat or a cap. The sun be bustinnnn these days!!
It means it loses leaves in the fall/winter. Luckily I was in the shade most of the video!
where is your favorite place in area to get plants?
I go to buchanan's for hard to find native plants other than that lowes or whatever nursery is around.
You can have some of my free, fresh bluebonnet seeds for the grassy area in your backyard! Plant time for seeds is prime for August-September. (Soak 24-48 hours prior in distilled or filtered water.) Let me know if you want some!
Heck yeah, send me some if you have them. My email is pauljcantu10@gmail.com
Sounds awsome! Can I have some?

When are we gonna get a lil planty twis appearance
He is not into manual labor.

Sorry, harder to be stable after planting tons of stuff in 95 degree heat. Hahaha
Let's see some greenery 💚
Where’s the reffa plant at?
Where the seeds?
Paul dadtu?
Earth is ma plaaahhnet

I may do something like that at some point but as of right now with a baby on the way my schedule is a little crammed!
The flowers of Texas mountain laurel smell like grape soda.
You smell like grape soda… 🤪
