- Yo! Welcome to the 1st (of 3!) videos coming from our Southern Pines, North Carolina trip. This was our first time taking on Tobacco Road, and sheesh it was a challenge. Thanks @golfbreaks trip was easy, thanks to you guys!

Nice to see vloggers pick-up at double bogey instead of boring us with triples and quads. With the right attitude, Tobacco Road is fun.
Absolutely. It was a lot of fun, feels like a course you would be 3-4 shots better the second time you play it.
Agreed, but why the pick-up/move and then double box on 16 and declaring it a tie at then end? 😮
@@pameladavis3895 Hey Pamela! sorry just seeing this. Taylor and I always play double max, regardless of an outcome of the hole! helps us with pace of play

I've played the Road a few times over the years and love Pinehurst area golf courses. Those black boxes off in the distance on the tee are tobacco stacks; there are more than you might notice. They are also aiming points for your tee balls. Mike Stranz used markers in some of his other courses too. If you liked the Road, give Royal New Kent a whirl sometime. There are several great tracks in that area as well. Great video. Thanks.
We thoroughly enjoyed the Southern Pines trip, we need to do Pinehurst soon. I (Tyler) have never played there! Tobacco Road was quirky but a lot of fun. Thanks for the comment!
Sorry for digging up the past, but slowly working my way backwards .... That looked f'ing brutal. The 'bunkers' took up half the course ... then the slopes on those greens. Absolutely nuts. I'm playing off scr in Aus ... i would take 80 at that joint and run away cheering. First crack there, you're both champs.
This is not too far back at all! Seems like yesterday 😂 Completely agree, the scores we had for never seeing the course before wasn’t bad at all!
The waste bunkers were like concrete that week bc all of the rain just tamped it all down

Never been here. The course is incredible with the huge flag sticks to show pin positions over the huge hills and tall bunkers. You guys handled it like champs because surely has had plenty of victims eating them alive on the scorecard and cursing the layout along the way. Great stuff. I want to go back and start binge watching your content. Thanks for sharing.

Just played Tobacco Road and loved it! I played from the forward tees and it was a fair and fun challenge. Keep the videos coming - I enjoy watching you both play.

Good video guys. Found this one because I play Tobacco Road for the first time later this week. I was told to buy a yardage book and I know why! I feel like this unique course will be a little less strange to me. Thanks and you both have very nice swings. Never seen your stuff before I’m sure you both normally play much better on a full nights rest.

just played 36 here last week...we were also cart path only which made it a real struggle, but what a glorious place
We felt TERRIBLE the next day, we had a longer travel day and then Cart Path Only there destroyed our legs 😂 such a cool place, how’d you play?!
@@TCTwosomeGolf we played pine needles the next day, and had played 36 at mid pines the day before...played like crap mostly but had an absolute blast doing it...looking forward to checking out your other 2 videos from NC

@@TCTwosomeGolf its really hard to rank them, they are all awesome in their own way...id go 1) Tobacco Road, 2) Pine Needles, 3) Mid Pines...we also played Mid South, Southern Pines and Duke University Golf Course and I'd recommend them too
That course looks very much like some of our links courses over here. Don’t like the idea of cart path only as you may as well walk the course, which is my preferred option!
Going to have to visit you one day 👀 It had rained the 2-3 days prior to our trip so I think that was the only reason for CPO, not the course you want to be walking around either 😂

@@TCTwosomeGolf I don’t. I haven’t been back for almost six years. I just remember there’s a ton of awesome golf courses all over the Carolinas.
It was my first time in the Carolinas and it was fantastic. South Carolina might be next on our list

Tobacco Road is very fun but it is very overrated. It is a great experience though. If you like Tobacco Road check out Tot Hill for half the price. Another Strantz course. Should be very nice this Summer after grow in from renovation.

You two have made some good vids. We get it that you were tired from travel and cart path only, however, it takes away from the vid when there is too much whining about being tired. You should also speak more positively about the course.
