Driving up in the car on Closing Day - Jack is already thinking of killing Wendy and Danny is already thinking of killing Jack. Jack has a funny feeling when he looks at Danny.

The Shining will always be a masterpiece. Kubrick for the win. I would recommend reading the book!

Jack being frozen in the end up to his shoulders might be a reference to lucifer in the 9th layer of hell in Dante's Inferno. That precise image and depiction is used, Lucifer being frozen to his head by the gusts of his wings and trapped in the 9th layer

I saw a scene in an old black and white movie that was set at a fancy night club and the head of the place said to the bar man - don't charge that guy for drinks, his money is no good here. The reason for no charge was because the head guy really admired that customer. (I think it might have been Glenn Ford as the customer.) They didn't talk like Lloyd and Jack, but I think The Shining dialogue still might have been borrowed from them.

@@BYOBpod Don't remember, sorry. I may have made a note of it. Also, I haven't seen that many Glenn Ford movies, so if it was him, I might be able to figure it out by looking up his credits. I will try to find it, but I don't have time, now. Some day.

@@BYOBpodIt is very good and very worth the watch. It honors both King and Kubrick. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. 😊
