The esc on mine recognized the 3s and beeped 3 times instead of 2. I ran a 2000mah 25c and it worked a little wonkey. So I changed out the motor with a higher kv motor, stock everything else and ran it this morning. No cog, no braking, no delay, it screams down the street. 30mph maybe more. Hope I don't ruin it but man it's a fast little fart now.
You can run 3s on stock esc, but back the speed down to 1/4 or 1/3 and it should work fine without braking all the time - works fine for me and the battery lasts about 45 - 50 mins! Mine is about 2 months old👍
Unfortunately not, I tried turning down the speed and it did not work well at all. In order to be able to pull the throttle all the way I had to reduce the speed by 75%. But at that point the car was so slow it was useless. Hopefully reducing the speed a little will work for other people but it didn't help on my truck.
@@BustedRC-wb8de Maybe it’s down to the battery? The two 3s I have been using are: Floureon 11.1 v 2200mAh 25c & Nano tech 11.1 2250 130c - if this helps (they were from my ‘heli’ days - a few years old now)👍
@@Yarns Thanks for the suggestion. I have tried batteries from two different brands and tested both in my other trucks to make sure they were ok. Next time I'm out for a group bash I'll ask around to see if I can borrow some other makes to try, but at this point I'm not very hopeful. Have you checked the output voltage on the 3s lipos you have? I wonder with them being old if they are less than the usual 3s voltage and thus the truck is happier to run them?
They came in the box with my MJX14209. I've tried to add a link in the description but I don't know if it worked. I like them a lot, the stock ones are awful.

Interesting vid. Thanks for testing it out!
Cool video! I think you answered a lot of questions on this 3s topic! Here's sub 21 for you!! Cheers mate!
thanks!

What wheels are they ? The standard ones are the only thing I find that lets it down

Looks like yours is a bit different, bur Derby City RC ran it on 3S, but it also was like it was underpowered or on the brakes all the time.
I did watch his video and I noticed he mentioned his wasn't very happy running on 3s. This whole things seems weird.
I ran mine on 3s 1300mah 20c batteries many times at full speed with no braking. I think the 120c is too high...try a 3s with no more than 25c.
How long does the battery last?
