Tech tip I have had great success with using Tree Root Killer on bare metal to achieve a cool copper color. Tree root killer is very inexpensive Tree root killer contains copper Sulpate and that is the chemical he described using in this video. Hope yall like the tip!
My son's 1966 Chevy sits on a Tahoe and that was done 10 years ago at least.. the interesting thing with that is that it was a long bed cut down. Because the actual bed measurement looks like a short bed at first but it's actually in between the length of a 6 ft and 8 ft bed. With all of it cut off the front of the bed. Anyway it worked out good and it looks right. And truck appears to balanced aesthetically and will base is correct fitting the opening of the offender wells. I'll agree the title says setting it on a Tahoe frame and not enough of it with dedicated to that.
I want to know what measurements you used for this wheel and the offset, I like it for my truck but I don't know how to find them, I am using the platform of a 2004 GMC Sierra

Out of all the trucks with rust, smeared ugly paint, TRYING for the real (patina) THIS is the best I've seen. Almost a pastel color. Very subtle. What about brass tinting?...

@@coryament That sucks. None of my beeswax, but if it's as simple as you bought a vehicle with no title, you can get one hassle free in another state & then switch it to your state. I don't know you or what you know, but I'm just throwing it out there in case it can help you & your project. Vermont is one of a few states that's been doing this every single day for many years. I've done it many times.
@@monahumada7535 if you widen the frame now you need to work on the suspension gemoetry, streering parts might not line up right. Body work just sits there doing nothing so its easier to make changes too without unintended consequences.

Motorsporks Why? Because he got a much stronger frame, LS series engine, auto trans with overdrive, 4 wheel disc brakes... and on top of that I’m sure that burnt up Tahoe cost a lot less than aftermarket front and rear suspension would.
Cheaper, but much more labor. I bought a rusted out 98' C1500 and did a very similar swap. Lots of time, but the donor truck was only $500 running and driving. You will pay for it one way or another - either with $$$ or with time.

@@taylorswiftnumberon1 I drill out the cab mounts of the old chassis to mount the Apache cab and now it makes a annoying noise from the mounts I have change the rubber spacers and hope that stops the noise

I hate this rat rod shit paint thing people are doing these days. In my opinion you spend all that time building the truck why make it look like a worn out shit paint job. I say he should of givin it a glossy simple paint job.
Looks like someone peed on it and let it dry, not a fan of the "patina" look. Just like an old vehicle is "original" once, so is the patina as it ages, recreating the patina is just silly IMO.
I wish you showed more on fitting the body on the chassis and what you had to overcome to make it all fit.

Normally you take measurements of the truck then head to the junk yard to measure junkers to get the right chassis

I have never done this but why would they modify the fender and not the frame? Its a 2wd frame.

You just mark up the fenders (kinda squarly) and then cut it. Slide the panel out and then weld in a strip of metal to fill the gap.
