    Episode 189 of Love At First Scent
    This was a TH-cam Live broadcast streamed on Monday 3rd May 2021. Unscripted. Unedited. Unrehearsed.
    In this episode I reviewed the new Chanel Paris-Edimbourg, composed by Olivier Polge.
    Introduction 0:00
    Chanel Paris-Edimbourg 2:00
    Here's the blotter update:
    - As far as citrus-chypres go (and by that I mean scents from which we shouldn't expect a great deal of compelling 'action' in the drydown; their appeal lies in their top and mid sections) this works absolutely fine. Indeed, it presents a far more convincing woody-earthy-mossy drydown than most examples of this genre. Critics may claim that the cypres-vetivert base comes across as too thin, but I'd assert that would be missing the point. This is all about the fleeting quality of outdoor freshness: those all-too-brief moments when the wind blows through your hair and you feel at one with the landscape around you.

    Another high quality review and presentation. I learn from you on every video, thank you! By the way, I was in a Chanel boutique over the weekend and they are certainly looking forward to receiving this one.

    Aaaaaaaah, so enjoyed this one, even if it weren't live (well, not for me)! As soon as we get it here in the stores, I need to jump on it. Afterall, a masculine Cristalle is one worth pursuing w/ a vengeance! Thank you, Dariush. Plan on attending the Max Forti "duet" tmrw; you two are a hoot together, in a good way 😁.

    Your description "herbs and grass and dried twigs and forest floors and mosses and sea spray crashing on rocks" has me very excited to try this! Paris Deauville has become a summer staple for me and the others are quite nice as well. A great alternative at a nicer price than Chanel Eau de Cologne.

    fab impressions! was ready & waiting to buy this one last year (was even on the chanel site) then tumbleweeds and it dissapeared. so here i am again, hoping for an approachable, fresh green scent which is exactly what you describe. i believe the end of the month (may 31) is when it might start to appear at retail. hopefully there will be a matching lotion like for the rest of the collection.

    They had me at androgynous and woods! From Chanel, the only ones I love so far are the various 19s and coromandel.. need to try Deauville. this sounds promising to me! Thanks for the review

    I love Deauville and will have to try Paris-Edimbourg. The sprayer on the Paris bottles are worth mentioning as well. They are so smooth and spray in the widest and most even spray. Quite different from other Chanel sprayers. I always enjoy depressing the sprayer. I guess I'm a tactile person and receive a small but real moment if happiness each time I spray Deauville.

    • @Persolaise
      @Persolaise  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      D’you know, I noticed the different sprayer too, but never thought to mention it. So thanks for bringing it up. And thank you for watching.

    I bought one bottle a few days ago from Chanel Covent Garden,it s smell like a cheap version of Creed Viking,which I don t like it to much either. And it s last just one hour maybe.

    the description sounds like a EDT SYCOMORE.

    • @Persolaise
      @Persolaise  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If that's the case, then I'm sorry. The vetiver-sandalwood combo that makes Sycomore so distinctive isn't present here at all. Edimbourg is much more about mosses and herbal dryness.
      Thanks for watching.
