Visiting the VAT-leaching ponds at Khazaine gold processing plant in Sfariât, Mauritania.

Our first order of business at the Khazaine HQ compound in Sfariât, Tiris Zemmour Region, Mauritania, is to visit their gold processing plant. Gerak Darma's team started by looking at their VAT-leaching ponds. The ponds were dug and then lined with HDPE film. The next step is to lay all the pipes to collect the leached liquid. After that, gravel was spread as the support layer, followed by gunny sacks as the filter layer. Once all that is done, the gold tailings/gold-bearing ores will be put in. The leaching solution will be added once the ponds are filled with tailings/ores. Leaching time in the pond is around 12 to 14 days. Later, we will continue to be brief on the collection pond for the pregnant solution and the leaching solution mixing pond. The construction of all these was done in-house. Kudos to Khazaine's team.
