I didn’t know she was actually deaf that can’t be easy because she makes the character such a badass with being able to hear little and then help tech everyone how to sign that’s just amazing
My Goodness, I KNOW! I noticed right away that there is no CC for this video. Are you flipping kidding me? To this day, I do not know how this is not mandatory for all videos on TH-cam. CBS is a huge company, and this interview features a Deaf Actor. This is an epic fail by not including subtitles. So frustrating.
*Hi CBS, as a friendly suggestion, if you ever interview another Deaf person, please make sure to zoom out enough so that all of their ASL answers can be seen by the audience. Deaf people watching this interview would be extremely disappointed to see Millie's signs cut out of the frame. It paints the picture that the interview is only meant for hearing audiences.* Thanks!
Also the editing. They’re clearly cutting when she’s still signing the next sentence, but because the interpreter is done speaking that’s when they cut but they are technically interrupting her signing every time.
can't wait to see what else she does. She's a great actress and this is a great platform to show that people with disabilities no matter what it is can do anything, even becoming a Hollywood actor or actress. this representation is so important! SO happy for her!
I love her so much. I hope she gets hired for other movies and shows. I also kind of hope that they make another movie. I love Reagan's character, and I see where she can build.
Millicent, you deserve an Academy Award for your performance in this film. "Wake up Academy and look, see, listen & process true & honest talent!" Bravo Millicent!
She's no normal kid. She's a natural! It's really awesome how she can be on par with the other artists. It's my first time hearing her voice when I watched the end part of A Quiet Place 2 where she screamed as she kills the creature. I felt like, she really has a wonderful, casual voice. I'm looking forward to the third chapter.
I think it's completely unacceptable that they zoomed in on her so much that you can only see half of her sign area. It probably would have been nice for the deaf community to actually see what she was signing. And there aren't even captions available...
@@ragnarok9789 It's not "snowflake" behaviour, it is simply unaccessible to people who are hard of hearing, and there is no way for them to fully understand the interview
@@ragnarok9789 It's not being "sensitive" when you literally cannot know what is being said. There aren't even captions, and it makes it so much more difficult when the signing area is cut off by zooming in. Are people sensitive when they can't get into a building that isn't wheelchair accessible? No, they want what others have, which is simply access to something that others have no issues obtaining. It's unfortunate that you don't seem to care about others when you don't fully understand the disability. I hope that you can learn something from this.
A Quiet Place II is UNBELIEVABLE & OUTSTANDING!!! Thank you to ALL who participated in the making of both movies!!! Bravo. Much love & blessings from Chicago, Illinois.
Seeing this movie made me very interested in learning sign language. I'm still learning tho, it's kinda fun to learn sign language. I hope I can do it very well. Millicent was amazing in the movie
It was intense in the cinema I felt like I couldn’t breath because it’d be too loud. Sadly I had to also sit at the VERY front which was agony for my neck rip
Literally I was thinking that she is the real child of Mrs Blunt & Mr John. actually it was her acting in those movies that's kept me thinking like that! She is such a absolute actor being a deaf & despite her age. & Noah's acting was also remarkable and his looks is quite similar to Mr John, it's my opinion.
She is incredible. I am hoping she blows up so that other children understand that even with disabilities. I didn’t grow up with this but I am so happy. My sight was mine but how beautiful that movies are doing this
My favorite thing about her character is how brave and smart she is. She was willing to go on that journey all alone not knowing if she would ever return to her family, because she knew that that was the right thing to do. Even though she didn’t have the ability as everyone else because she was deaf, she was so brave
I love how (and I don't mean this in a mean way) she looks like a doll (unique face), and she has such pretty blue eyes. Can't wait for the movie. First one was awesome.
It doesn’t matter that she is hearing impaired or not, she has done a fantastic job in both of these movies. This is one actress who’s going to break boundaries and go far!
@@CatalleyaStorm I'm sure there were many but Marlee Matlin became so well known because of her Oscar win 34 years ago and has continued to be a champion for the deaf and blind community to this day.

She has the ability to act through her eyes and her facial expressions in a way that is so far beyond known Talent. IMO she carries both films, all the other actor/actresses are amazing but this is something truly unbelievable.

I can't believe she's already 18.. wow such a beautiful soul.
Jesus time flies!
wtf? eighteen? she looks a lot younger-
I would risk everything 😮💨
I still can't understand how she's 18. She looks like ~14 ish
@@seahindeniz there's this girl in my class that is 17 and looks 11, and acts like an 8 year old smh
She’s so tall now compared to the first movie. Loved that she got a more prominent role in part II.
And the next movie isn't till 2023, so we're gonna have to ignore how fast these kids grew in what's only a few weeks total. :)
@Thanos The person was talking about how tall she’s grown ever since qp 1, then they expressed how much they liked that she got a more important role

Yes! They are! Just in case they are called interpreter instead of translator

Just watched the film and her acting was phenomenal

We had a blast hosting this interview in our gardens. Thanks for being a Phipps fan, Millie!
Thank you. The setting was beautiful.
Lovely
„She is the role model she never had” beautifully said, that might be a life motto for so many.
The irony of this video not being accessible to deaf people.....
Now that I’ve noticed, it is quite frustrating.
@@tgnash_ really CBS how hard is it to include closed captions?

On a similar note, providing captions on all content, but especially interviews with individuals who are d/Deaf would be considerate.
Also the editing. They’re clearly cutting when she’s still signing the next sentence, but because the interpreter is done speaking that’s when they cut but they are technically interrupting her signing every time.
It’s clear there’s still so much progress to be made in this space...
Exactly.
She was EXCELLENT in this film

This is the movie that makes you cry even with less dialogue. The characters are so moving.
They hired someone who is disabled? That is GREAT omg

Brilliant and class act DIRECTOR as well as ACTRESS - the family structure in the movie is PERFECT.
She is so good in both movies, I hope writers or directors can find creative ways to use her talents in future films.
I wish Millicent nothing but the best going forward - she's amazing in these movies!

Remember seeing the first one in theatres and no one said a word or made a sound
I couldn't touch my popcorn lol the second time around I was smart enough to just buy gummy bears
my family was talking the whole time
I’m surprised when I saw it rarely anyone brought in snacks like they knew they had to be quiet fr
I just saw it, and the whole theater 99% of the time shut up. Well, I cursed out loud and a few times in shock.
even when i went home i started doing everything quieter
