Probably one of the best intros for a character I've ever seen.It captures what they described the show was like it looks normal but it's not.Cass is the man!
Apart from the violence, this reminds me of a Scottish manager I had. Only word I could ever make out was "fuck". As for Irish accents I don't ever seem to have much of an issue with it unless they are speaking Gaeilge or are very drunk but then nobody makes sense to me when they are drunk.
When I started watching Preacher straight on- without looking up any additional info, I thought this dude was bat shit crazy and out of his freakin mind: drinkin bloody champagne, jumping out of an airplane with a freakin umbrella, devouring a whole cow,,,, until later on I found out he's a bloody vampire
I also didn't realize he was a vampire. Like they even show him burning in the sun later and I STILL didn't get it until I read it somewhere or the show spelled it out for me lol. I thought he was some sort of a demon.
I usually don't like vampires, but I must admit Cass is a badass one, def my favourite character of the show. Can't wait for season 2, just because of him.
OK, as an Irish man, who had Preacher books and even a Jessy figure with light up eyes back in the 90s, who bloody loved Joe in Emmerdale and This Is England and of course so stoked our own Ruth Negga is such a treasure...and hey yeah a huge fan of Garth Ennis.. May I just say what a bloody TREAT every single episode of Preacher was and especially every single scene with Cassidy. Top stuff! Thanks Nerflix for posting this and much love to all Preacher fans out there!
I mean I know that he probably grabbed the umbrella to shield himself from the sun but I’ve convinced myself that he was gonna try and break his fall with it and float down like Mary Poppins
When I saw this first episode, I was like "wtf is going on? Why is that person jumping from an airplane with an umbrella? He's mad!" But now, I TOTALLY LOVE HIM! I never heared accent like he has before... Joe Gilgun did an incredible job!
I wonder why they nerf him so bad in the next season. I'm watching season 2 and he barely can fight and he instantly may die by sunlight, and here he survived a aeroplane falling, and also he destroyed half of his body in the middle of the day.
Cassidy was never THAT good a fighter...he was just indestructable...that's why Jesse beats the everliving shit out of him when they finally do fight...
You know, one would expect that a vampire who gets into fights constantly would eventually learn how to fight simply out of convenience, since he requires blood to regenerate. So I think this is fine and very entertaining.
What? Cassidy wasn't just immortal, he was strong as fuck too. Jesse beat him under pretty restrictive circumstances and jesse is a great fighter. It's also implied that if cassidy got the hits in he'd wreck jesse in that scene.
Yeah, IF he could land them...Cassidy was never a better fighter than your average drunk Irish pub brawler and because he was invulnerable, he never thought he needed to change his style.
This is the fight scene that hooked me to the show, any show that can make a fight scene this fun has my interest and the first season did not disappoint.
@@marybrown2723 I honestly didn’t really like any season past the first one. Like there are parts here and there, but the first season really was the best.
LOL the mildly fed up look on Cassidy's face when that guy poured holy water on him you can tell by the look on his face it not the first time one of them tried to kill him with holy water hahaha
The problem with fighting a vampire isn't that they're a supernatural monster, it's that they're someone who's managed to survive for a few hundred years.
I have never seen this programme, as I do not have Prime, so idea why I am here but whilst here I have watched this and thought I would say that is a hell of a good Irish accent by Woody, Joseph Gilgun. I thought he could only do one accent extremely broad northern in programmes like Misfits but he has completely surprised me here.
It’s a great scene but how Cassidy didn’t notice the mass of loose medieval weaponry is is insane. I’d there was mild turbulence the weapons would have been flying around the plane like dropped bottle of water
I think it's great they got an actor who actually knows how to do an Irish accent without sounding like Lucky the Leprechaun from Lucky Charms ads. Your man's got his shite down.
Am I the only one who thought this was one of the best scene to the worst serie? Honnestly gave it a 5/10 overall. The pacing wa slow, I had to watch it at very accelerated pace. Jessie was dull, his powers aee so great that all he can do is just speak and influence anyone... no immortality, no teleportation, nothing... dude cuts his ears, powers dont work.... the girl was crazy and weird... cassidy was entertaining but it got old after a time. God had no real depth. The killer was overpowered for no reason. Angels were underpowered for no reason. And their bodies pilling up for no reason? I get it, it's american kitsch humour but honnestly I thought it was underwhelming. Villains were lowkey very entertaining though. Also what was the moral of the story? Anyways, all in all a serie with great potential but underwhelming in the end. I didn't give it a 2, I gave it a 5.
Probably one of the best intros for a character I've ever seen.It captures what they described the show was like it looks normal but it's not.Cass is the man!
what this music?
music is life man
That look on Cassidy's face when that dude poured that holy water on his head. He was like, "Really, dude?" LMAO!
S. Stokes he's just like fuckin really?
Didn't understand 96% of what Cassidy said, there was a disgusting amount of violence, and I almost vomited. ...5 outta 5 stars.
lol...
Wait you mean Irish people aren't always drunk ?
Ellis Mitch why are you one of those people that always goes to the stereotypes
Why can't you understand him?
I love how everyone just pulls weapons out of their arses basically.
Same
Dávid B hey man you'd be surprised the things people smuggle onto the airlines and where they smuggle em
*Withdraws 3 foot spear from anus*
Good old boof
if y'all look closely enough you will see the weapons were hidden...
I lost it when he took the umbrella when he jumped out the plane. Like you ain't Mary Poppins.
It so needs to be a GIF lmao
it was to protect him from the sun, he is a vampire yenno
lol he was taking the umbrella to shield himself from the sun
That makes sense.
"I'm Mary Poppins y'all!"
Better choreography than iron fist
better than most tv shows.
DumplingDelivery It was the same man who worked on the choreography of Kingsman
Not daredevil tho
jeez why would you bring that up
Fuck this series it isn’t dark and sorrow it’s retard monologue show

😂😂😂😂
One of the most badass scenes I've ever seen in a TV series. Looking forward to see how season 1 plays out.
I feel ya, i have high expectation of this new series
coming from a reader of the comics you've seen nothing yet. Saint of Killers, remember that name if you continue to watch this awesome story.
Not sure if all of television has enough gun.
GZilla311 I see what you did there :) holy shit how awesome will it be to see that whole scene on the show
+Jokester I just hope they can do it justice. Seriously, that single panel of him facing everyone down was the epitome of the Saint.
Wow, a lot happened for Rudy after he finished his community service
Limten omfg I was looking for this
Limten ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Nice insider. But I do always think of that community service when I see this actor or the other guy from game of thrones
Limten he traded in his split personality power... For vampire powers.
@@alceusrydan6237 naah this is rudy 3 jess didnt really kill him so he moved to america and became a vampire the other 2 rudys are back in england
my dad suggested this show to me and I'm so glad he did, A+ Parenting right there
I usually don't like vampires, but I must admit Cass is a badass one, def my favourite character of the show.

LadyPrincessDiana better than Edward
G.V.O.A.T.

Cassidy casually tilting the pilot over to decant his blood into a container made me moist...
I don't know why I always laugh so hard when Cassidy air freshens his ass at 0:59. Maybe just how non-chalantly he does it
NanoBlade do you not?
I mean I know that he probably grabbed the umbrella to shield himself from the sun but I’ve convinced myself that he was gonna try and break his fall with it and float down like Mary Poppins
I'M MARY POPPINS Y'ALL!
I feel dumb I didn't figure out that's why he grabbed it. I just thought he was so high he thought it'd work .
@@louis8487 haha upon first watch, same
It's not very religious to smoke weed, drink, and snort coke with a vampire you're about to kill.
They were setting a trap. A good one, too. If not for that Bible, Cassidy may not have gotten the drop on them.
Well, except the fact that they didn't really know how to kill him. Holy water, really?
That's why they failed.
Please cite scriptural examples to support such a theory.
Disgusted Batman Actually those are 3 of the 13 commandments in my religion.
When I saw this first episode, I was like "wtf is going on? Why is that person jumping from an airplane with an umbrella? He's mad!" But now, I TOTALLY LOVE HIM! I never heared accent like he has before...
Joe Gilgun did an incredible job!
3:31-3:35 That moment when this is the thousandth fucking time someone's tried to use holy water on you.
Warrior1Spartan
That guy forgot to use the true faith ability before pouring.
You'd think a bunch of vampire hunters of all people would know that.
@@CommisarHood maybe he just started the Dawnguard Questline
@@ThePainterDidNothingWrong Cassidy: What the feck is an Dragonborn? And why do I have a quest log now?
Plot twist: the Bible wasn't theirs, they weren't vampire hunters and they had weapons because they were going to a dungeons and dragons convention.
Best show from wherever it came from.
Single handedly the greatest character introduction ever.
Spoiler? It's like the second scene in the show
I wonder why they nerf him so bad in the next season. I'm watching season 2 and he barely can fight and he instantly may die by sunlight, and here he survived a aeroplane falling, and also he destroyed half of his body in the middle of the day.
Right? I'm always eager to see him doing something badass but he's mostly cannon folder and barely do any action anymore
Casting for Cassidy and Jesse were both really good! Never watched the show outside these few youtube videos but have enjoyed the comics a lot.
I love his little three stooges-esque adlibs while he's fighting
Just all the, "Nope, no, no no nope", like he's been through this so many times before.
A very Creative fight scene. Easily one of my favorites from a TV series.
Watching this again is getting me psyched for season 3. Such cool fight choreography!
Now that is how make a entrance to a charecter
Cassidy was never THAT good a fighter...he was just indestructable...that's why Jesse beats the everliving shit out of him when they finally do fight...
You know, one would expect that a vampire who gets into fights constantly would eventually learn how to fight simply out of convenience, since he requires blood to regenerate. So I think this is fine and very entertaining.
fuck, just ate some spoiler shit ...
What? Cassidy wasn't just immortal, he was strong as fuck too. Jesse beat him under pretty restrictive circumstances and jesse is a great fighter. It's also implied that if cassidy got the hits in he'd wreck jesse in that scene.
But he was also extremely strong and fast, so really, Cassidy's punches should be able to at least knock people out instantaneously.
Yeah, IF he could land them...Cassidy was never a better fighter than your average drunk Irish pub brawler and because he was invulnerable, he never thought he needed to change his style.
His new comedy show ‘Brassic’, which he is the writer and creator for, is brilliant
Oh no no no no no no no
I cant lie. This is probably one of the coolest f****** vampires I've ever seen and he's Irish,,,even better.😂😂
First when I saw him I had to do a double take when I thought Cas was gonna Mary Poppins his way down skydiving off the plane
lol same 😂
Cassidy is one of them vampires who everyone loves
Man I want to party so hard with Cassidy.greatest intro to a character ever
Just realised it is woody. What an actor
I love the way he said “wanker”
Why does this bloak have to be so damned likable. Hell, even I want to party with him.
I’ve said it before I’ll say it again. He needs to play The Joker
This is the fight scene that hooked me to the show, any show that can make a fight scene this fun has my interest and the first season did not disappoint.
Well… but the last one did…
@@marybrown2723 I honestly didn’t really like any season past the first one. Like there are parts here and there, but the first season really was the best.
Gilgun would have smashed this role with his brilliant Northern English accent.
he should play constantine. in justice league dark..
One of the best series ever, together with Happy! and Dirk Gently
Based on a comic btw very good
Honesty thought he was gonna be a villain judging by this scene, so glad he and preacher became friends
I always wondered if vampires have to poop, this scene answered that.
LOL the mildly fed up look on Cassidy's face when that guy poured holy water on him you can tell by the look on his face it not the first time one of them tried to kill him with holy water hahaha
i can't for the life of me tell what cassidy is saying.
That's why I watched the pilot with captions XD
I thought I was the only one.
Half the time I can't understand anything Cassidy is saying lol
+unowen7591 lol, I understood Arseface better than him
well arseface has subtitles but i usually don't have to read them. lol
O faith an' begorrah, articulate, Cassidy, ya fokkin' mick.
In the comics Cass has inhuman Vampiric strength, so idk whys he’s dancing ballet with these mortal schmucks
He's not as strong in the TV series. I think the tradeoff is that he has more powers and is more skilled at using them.
holy shit that was an amazing fight scene that deserves to be awarded by my comment
The problem with fighting a vampire isn't that they're a supernatural monster, it's that they're someone who's managed to survive for a few hundred years.
RUUDYYY!
Awesome scene. I had my doubts when this was announced but after having see. The first episode I think that they hit it out of the ballpark.
Cassidy is a very skilled fighter, I dominate them all very easily
This is the moment i realized that the show is nuts and good
Now I’ve REALLY got to check this show out.
la série du moment "PREACHER" un régal !!
Cassidy is Top 5 Best Characters Ever
Cassidy ROCKS!
This show has some perfect character introductions.
favorite scene... love Cassidy... lol
He's A Vampire I thought he was A Demon
I absolutely love preacher but joe gilgun/ Cassidy made me wanna watch more of it
PERFECT CASTING !!
🧛♂️👍
Make Cassidy great again!
I'm gonna start calling a bong a giggle gun.
Tija waaana. Loved it. And loved the actor
I love it afterwards he jumped out of the plane with an umbrella trying to be Mary Poppins or something it was hilarious
I thought it was that at first too but then I realized it for when he hit the ground and the sun would be out. Hilarious either way.
I have never seen this programme, as I do not have Prime, so idea why I am here but whilst here I have watched this and thought I would say that is a hell of a good Irish accent by Woody, Joseph Gilgun. wow cassidy's voice in english sounds great 💖💀🖤
Love this cassidy scene
Bloody brilliant
I forgot about this scene. This is the baddest I've seen Cassidy, I hope they bring it back.
This the scene that made me fall in love
Honestly, that shit in the pilot? Had me hooked immediately. Not to mention the absolutely hilarious transition after Cass jumps out of the plane.
It’s a great scene but how Cassidy didn’t notice the mass of loose medieval weaponry is is insane. I’d there was mild turbulence the weapons would have been flying around the plane like dropped bottle of water
probably because he was high
I thought the umbrela was for gliding down

Favorite scene
And sadly after this scene Cassidy will do nothing but be useless for the rest of the seasons
Quavo Alexander best part of his character
He saves Jesse from the angels a couple times
False
yep but he's still everyone's favorite lol
CASSIDY MY BELOVED.
Sad how the show ended
Back when Cassidy was a master at fighting, he seems to have forgotten somehow..
maybe the wannabe vampire hunters are just shit fighters.
i keep trying to tell people how awesome this show is, maybe i should just send this link to them. This scene sums up the insanity of the show nicely.
3:37 ... so, he is a vampire
Yes
2:24 Does the actor just have dominant canines or did they add a sharp teeth effect because he's a vampire?
