A lot of good points, the property values and rents are rediculous. Mom and pop shops and restaurants are what makes NYC have culture, and they cannot compete w those prices.sad smh

    LORD HAVE MERCY
    1 bedroom is$3500 to $5,500. 2 bedrooms is $5, 500 to $10,000
So if you are a middle class person like me Union Square is not for you LOL,
so people have to be at least upper middle class .
Why Manhattan is pushing away middle class residents???
Union Square is pretty nice, but I live in a nice peaceful neighborhood in Queens where I don't pay more than $2000 for 2 bedrooms with great amount of space.

***** You don't know all parts of Queens, so be quiet. Some of the most beautiful neighborhoods in NYC are in Queens. And there are also a lot of Wealthy areas in Queens, for example Jamaica Estates, Forest Hills Gardens some parts of Bayside and others that are breath taking. I live in a nice quiet middle class area in Queens and I would not give it for some places in Manhattan.

***** Sorry, that's not true. I'm a mid-20s student at Columbia University and I actually rejected on campus housing because I didn't want to live in the UWS/morningside heights. I like my charming neighborhood in queens. My rent is less expensive for more space and I get to read on my 45-minute commute to and from Columbia.

wwwoaaah Some of the most beautiful neighborhoods in NYC are in Queens ,unfortunately there are people in NYC who are ignorant about it

***** What I said and I will continue to say is that there are places in Queens that are more attractive and better than Manhattan, they always try to make people believe that all parts of Manhattan are great which is false. Yes there are definitely great places in Manhattan and it's the economic center of New York with a lot of high profile landmarks, a lot of upscale stores , beautiful buildings, and a lot of high profile people who live there, but not all parts of it are great , there are a few places that I have seen that can't compare to some places in Queens. The upper east side which is great and has a lot of affluent well to do people who live there, but when you take an affluent area like Jamaica Estates in Jamaica Queens and Forest Hills gardens in Forest hill there's no difference , google these 2 places , Jamaica Estates and Forest Hills Gardens these places are breath taking

@dontwatchmyvideos Why not? The pay increase for many fields doesn't seem commensurate with the increase in living costs, so I have to work harder to live with roommates in an overall smaller property? Yeah, no thanks, I'll just visit instead.

OMG i just discovered this "channel". Amazing videos.I lived in Manhattan, 2nd ave and 54th st, when i was in 1st grade -- PS 59 - far too many years ago. I live now in NorCal and I'm really enjoying hearing New York accents again, along with the "sense of humor" and other fine qualities of NYC life...

In Manhattan if you aren't a billionaire you lose out. Actually, many places outside Manhattan as well. What else is new, right?

To live there you have to have money. If you walk on saturday morning by the parkk u find the police from the crime the night before. It dosent sound like is the center of the world at all, crime and wealth in the same place, they cant keep their streets clean haha
