Now here is a real work horse! It can be used as a drill press th-cam.com/users/postUgkxajoEbapTfqWaadnqb04h6U576yxXp-FE for fine work; use a jig, set it in the horizontal position and cut-off steel wire (or pipe if you need to) at precise measurements. I used it on my Radio Control Boat building to shorten the motor drive shaft (stainless steel) by 1 5/8" then soften the cut edge.While jigs are necessary for a lot of work and the workstation must be fastened down for safety, the right jig and your imagination are the only limits I can think of. I'm going to try some routing by building a base with a 90 degree fence and router bit slot and make some fancy cuts using the Dremel router bits (just watch direction of feed, just like a big router)!

Well there are many Indian made small bench drills under 15000, but with 3 phase motor. You can however use single phase motor instead. Or, get the same machine which I reviewed. One of my subscriber had a bad experience with some brand (forgot the brand, you can go through comments).
Mine is quite used, still runs fine. I don't overload it. I always use lower speed only. Never changed the belt.
Regarding safety cover for chuck. Its a hassle. You can't see through that. You cant use lubricants when that cover is used. You cant even point the bit to the right point.
Well, I use a quality safety glasses always.

Good info, bro, the sad part is that traditionally products manufactured by small scale industries lack quality, these items are generally being used by the low-income technicians or craftsmen ,I think the current govt takes initiative to make the small scale industries globally competitive, for drilling an accurate hole the craftsman has to pay a huge amount for branded tools like DEWALT, etc
Hope the Govt supports Indian Manufacturers
@@smartdiyer I too purchased the same machine with Alpha brand, the motor gets heat up too high, any problem with the motor? I faced a problem the cast iron body is not getting seated on the pillar, even after tightening both grub screws, later found that the cast iron body was not grounded squarely, I modified it with a ring fitted around the pillar below the iron body so that while applying downward force the body doesn't shake, and stopped the chance of the drill bits going out of the centre of the hole
Great to know you have solved the issue by modifications.
There is no problem with the motor.
I have set ny machine to low speed only. I never change it.

Yes I remember.
It will ofcourse work. This machine motor has a different mount.
Pump motor has base mount. It will be heavy for the machine to handle.

Can you possibly measure how much play there is on the turret/chuck, especially in extended condition? This is to understand the accuracy of hole dia.

There is absolutely no play by itself. Not a milling machine though🤔

No. Not at all. The bit doesn't wobble at full depth of 50mm. (as long as bit is straight)

Sir this Agni drill machine is best for low budget people like me but is their any another option for this drilling
Other option is from Yuri. You get similar machine. The cheapest Indian milling will cost you about 50000 (incl motor) for 19mm capacity. Check HMP drills/ Banka site. That will be reliable.
The other cheapest desktop mill is Imported X2/X3. Due to import duty this will also cost you about 50K.

M denotes 'metric'. The other type is inch. I have seen threaded rods in Amazon itself.

You also need to confirm what pitch size you need. This depends on the nut which it is going to mate.

Chuck is normal one as used in all hand held drill machines.
You can't use taper shank bits in this machine.
I told, the chuck has a taper mount.

250 watt is too less motor power- will be just ok for drilling in wood plastic or sheet metal - if you want a machine with adequate power which u can use for metal as well as thick wood- go for 1 or 3/4 hp to work trouble free.
That's absolutely right. Considering the price, this machine would be perfect choice for DIYers.
A Professional Bench Drill machine has good build quality, will last lifetime. But, buying a bench drill will cost about 20000₹ for 1 HP motor. And it is always better to choose a 3 phase motor than single phase considering efficiency. More suited for Workshop
@@smartdiyer Perfect answer-- I fully agree with you & a 250 watt motor is even too less for DIYers -- Just see even a mixer grinder has a higher motor power & just 250 watt motor for drilling holes -- Any higher thickness material -- the drill will get stuck up in the material itself.

Thats true. But, its ultimately the motor which provides torque to the chuck. I tested this machine at lowest speed ratio. So, this machine can drill up to 8mm easy. If pressed hard, motor will stop rotating

Of course not. You obviously need Lathe for that.

Thats right. I understand. When it is marketed for India, from an INDIAN Brand name, from China, it should have what it it is supposed to have. We are running an Induction motor without safety.

According to my experiences, Dongcheng Plugs are one of the best. Even Made in China Bosch lack that quality.

In my local market, I get only HSS bits. For M35/42, I need to travel long. 😕..... Else I would buy accessories from local shops only. Most of my single use Bits and Taps are made by JK, Addison and Tontem only.
