@@Zupdood1 yup. Two years later looks like he never finished
Now what? 🤷🏽♂️
I like the satisfying bounce sound at the end of the newly replaced and inflated tire.
lol me too :)
This is awesome. Also note "No scratches no nothing" while he dings the rim with the bar.
What a useful film! I did my 5th tire today and when putting a new tire on needed to watch some more details: I forgot that the whole Duck Bill (head and tail) should be above the tire. For some reasons the tires I have don't go on without a Yellow Hand. It is R16 tires. I even don't know if I'll be able to change R15 (we have on one car those (2001 Saturn SL2)). Thank you and Bless your heart, Sir!
You do make a good point of trying to find multiple uses for things. Especially since mine is cemented down.
:o
Way to go Clint! I have been changing my own tires for years! I think you invention is awesome! I would like to see you do a video of changing a tire on newer 4runner TRD 5th gen wheel.
Can you repair tire bead with a chipped piece about 3 x 7/16 " in size? I've replaced one tire today from the damaged wheel on a new one. During installation, at the very end, I saw a piece of the very edge of the tire to be partly torn and messed between the tire bead area and the rim. I took the needle nose pliers and pulled out that piece tearing it off the bead. It is like 3" long and 7/16 " wide. I set the bead, though 1st the area was coming out from the damaged part, and it took me longer, but eventually the tire gave a typical click and popped into the wheel bead area. The pressure is constant, but I'm afraid that under the load of the car it develops a leak. I think maybe it is better to break a bead and glue back the piece, which was removed w/tire glue? Or if something like that happens to the bead, it is better just to replace that tire? The tire is Micheline Defender 2 in a very good condition, I replaced them just 1 year ago and the tire itself if only 2 years old. I would appreciate any opinions on that matter. Thank you for the great film.
Literally just Bought a horror freight manual tire changer 2 days ago to change a set of 31x10.50r15’s out to 34x10.50r15’s. By the second tire the bead breaking foot was bent & had to be reinforced with 2” square stock. By the time I got to the 3rd tire bead broken the bar is bent and the holes for pins are tearing out of the bead breaking arm & the mounted base is bent and pulling/tearing the strike anchor holes. Hopefully it’ll last to finish the 4th tire. Granted I didn’t expect anything from harbor freight to last, but I figured it’d last at least a set of tires.
You're definitely not using it correctly if that's your result. I don't use the bead breaker. I use tool with my impact wrench, works great.

I will be offering these soon for $195.00. They will be powder coated and the material has been upgraded to aluminum they are going to be awesome and they will be complete only need to attach the duck head and install on your harbor freight tool. coming soon to my channel and my website, rennfix.com they will be called the "Blue Wolverine".
What happened to these Clint? I can't seem to buy one on the website.
Are they for sale yet
When putting the tyre on, as well as ensuring the bead at the far side of the tyre is in the well of the rim, it is easier if you feed the bead of the tyre over the top of the bump at the front end of the duckhead and under the rear duckbill. Also lube the duckhead. When you were rotating the duckhead the it looked like the bead was being pinched between the front bump and the rim. Some duckheads do not have the front bump and seem a bit easier to use when manually mounting a tyre.
Thank you for that tip, I will try that and if it works I will use it in my next video about tire changers.
Well about the pinching, some of that will ALWAYS happen when mounting a tire to a rim.. You cant avoid all issues with tire mounting since the design gives consequences
As a former tire guy myself I cringed when I saw the bead wasn't over the duckbill as PTSD from ripped beads came back. Great advice.
I just made this whole thing myself 5x stronger and took 3 hours to weld pieces from junk metal. Only thing I bought was that mount on and off thingy from ebay 17 bucks to my door. Would recommend building similar manual tire machine on your own. Prices are ridiculous.
Sweet! That is so awesome that you can do it yourself, there are a lot of guys/gals who want one but don't have the tools and or skills to make their own. I'm working on a design that will be 1/3 the price and work very well. videos coming soon!
Clint Hightower...sell them at an affordable price. Don't bother painting it.
At the very end when you said why it so tight. I don't know for sure but I think you had too much of the tire bead on top of the duck bill. Saw another video and he only had it over the duck bill part not both of those bumps. How much was the upgrade? Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for the tip. The upgrade is too much that is why I am making a much less expensive version that will cost less than half the price of this one.
NICE!! I really need to replace my HF one. It does have the duckbill.
This is awesome. After changing the tires on cheap steel trailer wheels there was no way I was going to attempt the good wheels in my car. I might have to get this addon.
I'm almost ready to release the Blue Wolverine, my version of this tool more $195.99
@@Engineerboy100 I would buy it now
What if you went counter-clockwise to install the tire? Also, put your big bar inside the square arm. Twice the leverage.
Great attachment, the Tire Changer apparatus should actually include such a mechanism, instead of only having the Prow Bar's own end to make the same effect..
Plastic will break easily, so remember to not use extreme force and change things around instead of applying more force when stuck in the process
That protective washer (@ 1:11), which is under the tire cone, when you remove the cone, what it is made from: is it from wood or some plastic? And also if you use that tire cone, do you need to protect the rim anyhow? I have HF Tire Machine and the attachment to it (Manual Tire Changer Swing Arm Mod with Duck Head fm/ebay). The attachment I have doesn't include the tire cone, so not sure if I need to buy one. Thank you for the great film, especially for showing in details how to apply the DuckBill.
The washer is made of wood. I will be offering the entire kit soon AND it will be made of aluminum and I will be offering the cone separately if needed and it will be made of plastic. The washer goes under the rim, the cone goes on top....
@@Engineerboy100 Thank you. I have wood of that thickness, so might try to make one w/Jig Saw in the future, for right now I'll use just some rugs or cardboard. Yes, I think it would be very helpful if someone could make a set of plastic cone and that cut disk (which is currently wooden). Aluminum disk would be more expensive I guess. Thank you again, I'll be using your film to install my first tire.
Awesome video! I just bought the Harbor Freight tire changer and didn't even know this duck bill was available! Will be buying that next! Thanks for the video!
coming soon to rennfix.com, as the Blue Wolverine!
How soon is soon lol. Preorders available?
@@Engineerboy100will it be able to handle up to a 20 inch rim?
Nice!! So much easier than the stock H.F. tool!
Yep!
Very interested in the blue wolverine project. The $200 price will make importing one to Ireland cost effective. Is it still going ahead? Cheers!
Thx Clint . Glad I found you.
Dude ,
Just some advice ` you used the duck bill wrong to put the Tyre back on,
When removing the Tyre you lift the Tyre over the duck bill head while the other end is over the Tyre,
But when your putting the Tyre back on , you need to have the Tyre over on top of the other side from the duck bill. and the duck bill on top of the Tyre, this is why the Tyre was struggling to go back on easy, and don`t be shy with the soapy stuff,
Hey Clint I tried to order the blue wolverine I think something is wrong with the site
Not available yet, I'm working on mass production.
OK, you got me & I'm subscribed. What are you a Human Machine? You really popped that tire on. I been doing tires since the '60s and hard thing today is rim sizes being too big and almost no flex in the skinny sidewalls. I have a couple COATS Tire Machines but can't clamp the tire over the center shaft. You do much better by hand with the new attachment you showed us. I'm impressed and it looks like that thing will slide outward to larger wheel sizes. Thank you! Sonny (CT)
Yes Sonny, I will be offering a much better and less expensive version soon on my website rennfix.com called the Blue Wolverine!
Hi Clint how have you been doing? What is the site to buy that tire changer
You make it look real easy. Appreciate the steady camera shot and the extra tips for doing this. Do you have a video on balancing them?
I do have a video on balancing, there should be a card for it at the end of this video. It's my earlier video of me using this same tool before I added the modification. Thanks for the kind words. I will be making this mod soon for $195 it will be called "The Blue Wolverine" coming soon ;)
Very nice video. You look like a pro with that thing. I'm going to get one to rotate my tires inside to outside to increase my tires life. My tires usually wear on the inside tread only. Thanks.
sounds like you might need a wheel alignment or you have worn out tie-rod ends.
Whoa fozzy bear is now a tire guy? Thanks
Cool but not going to pay 429 dollars for an attachment. I'm gonna wait for a 20 dollar Chinese knock off.
Yeah, I hear ya, the price doubled from when I got mine. I talked to him about lowering the price but he said it's too much work to be making so many of them ... :(
@@Engineerboy100 he might oughta take learnin from Henry Ford assembly plant. Expedite service/labor 😂😂😊😎😎
Same here please lmk when ya do. Thanks
If you can weld you can make your own for less than $50.
@@accuratealloys I'd like to get a copy of the dimensions of the pieces
Way better on the alloy rims, thanks so much for the share!!!
Yes, for sure much better on the rims, and my Blue Wolverine kit will be even better because the centering cone will be solid plastic instead of metal.
FYI for anyone fabricating one of these improvements to their Horror Fright tire machine, if you're planning on removing wider, mud style tires, think of the width when cutting your center pivot tubing to length. I made mine 12" I believe and it's not high enough to remove a 10.5 wide tire.. Time to rebuild it. V2
Any build materials list?
@@sidepipechris1 I didn't keep track. Sorry. Though it's a pretty easy piece to copy based on pictures alone.
@@Bird76Mojo76 Thank you very much for your great suggestion here. Please kindly tell me more in another way what is the "center pivot tubing "? Thanks in advance.
Did you buy tire changer from harbor freight and you bought that attachment from Lucid ?
Nice videos sir. Your video has convinced me to make one of those.
Go for it!
Are you getting close on your version of this yet? I haven’t got one yet and I’m anxious to see yours before I buy or try to make one.
I am getting close and will be producing them soon. I have gotten a lot of interest in this part and really need to be able to crank them out once released so as not to make people upset with long wait times. I am streamlining the manufacturing process and coordinating my materials suppliers and my tooling sequence in hopes of being able to deliver the product promptly once people pay their money.
Great demonstration. Keep it up.
Hello friend where can I buy those duck attachment please . Thanks for responding ♾️
They are on eBay.
I would recommend building similar attachment on your own
Yep, that's exactly what I'm in the process of doing, and I'll be offering it for a lot less.
@@Engineerboy100 Reach out when you've done it.
I would get one in a heart beat, but when I saw the price my heart skipped a beat! I understand the manufacturing issues and all that. However, the main thing is to somehow make the price attractive to the consumer. For $500plus, after tax and shipping, it’s not worth it. Keep In mind, you can get a used professional tire changing machine for a couple hundred more. Also, the regular tree shade or home garage mechanic, would be pressed to invest that amount of money just to change a tire a couple times a year. If you can find the way to lower the retail price, I am sure it would sell big time. I would be the first to purchase it! Nice job in the video and the product. Good luck and thank you.
This is not my product ... yet, I have approach the original designer and offered to help him make is manufacturing process more efficient so he could lower the price but he said he was not interested. I have been considering making them myself. My price would be $195.00. That's a little lower than the price was when I bought mine.
@@goodday-zy2br I have decided to offer a slightly improve version of this design, coming soon to my website, rennfix.com. It will be called "The Blue Wolverine".
@@goodday-zy2br This would be excellent for road assist repairs, all you would need to add is a 1" thick board to mount it on in the field, maybe with a hinge in the middle for storage on vehicle and you'd be good to go!
Hello my friend could you communicate the size of the different tubes en France it's not possible to buY it
I'll draw you up a dimensioned sketch, send me your email and I'LL Send it to you, I may make a video of those dimensions too for others. my email is clinthightower@yahoo.com
@@Engineerboy100 thank you my friend email sent
I want to see you put a low profile tire how does that work
How soon you anticipate these being available?
I'm hoping I'll be ready to release to market in the next 90 days.
great video is your setup mounted to concrete or plywood
I mount it to both. This one is on concrete but I recently made a video with it mounted to plywood.
What size diameter is the duckvile pipr
I think inch and a half.
I'm really sorry Clint I think that upgrade tool works good! but i decided to buy the no mar tire changer I paid more money! but in the long run I think it will hold up much better then the harbor freight tire changer. I just think the harbor freight is really cheaply made, I have two cars and two trailers that i will use it for so eventually it will pay for itself by saving so much on mounting and balancing
Donde puedo comprar los asesoreos
Well done sir. Good demo.
Best idea Bro
Hi Clint... Whats the status? Been waiting. Thanks!
Well .... I don't want to let the cat out of the bag too early, but I am still working on it, trust me, once they are available there will be videos and post everywhere ;)
@@Engineerboy100 I need this upgrade tool. Do you ship to Canada?
How long till the Blue Wolverine is available?
Don't hold me to it but I'm shooting for 90-days now.
The days of BYOT (bring your own tires) are pretty much over. Practically all the shops in my area won't install tires customers bring in, you have to buy your tires from them and have them installed same visit. Of course they will upsell you on new tire pressure sensor valves, citing liability issues if you don't want or can't afford them. If you don't let them change your valves, they won't mount your tires, even if you do buy from them. If you buy tires from them and leave the store without mounting them and bring back another day, they won't install them. Period.
They won't change your tires if you don't have all your lug nuts installed either. I removed my wheel locks in the parking lot so they wouldn't f*ck up another set, and they wouldn't touch the car until I put them back on. And then I told them to leave the locks in the console and I'd put them back on before I left. They wouldn't go for _that_ either, siting insurance reasons. I finally ended up buying 4 non-locking lug nuts for when I had to take the car to the tire shop. Never _used_ to have to do that.
Another thing the tire shops won't do anymore is patch a tire after you've had it plugged or plugged it yourself. Lawyers.....
Nice add on! But for 429.99 or for that matter 195.00 I can get 4 tires mounted and balanced with out all the manual labor!
I consider the manual labor exercise, ... a good thing. I don't mind at all and even enjoy it. If you think manual labor is a bad thing, I feel sorry for you.
I just bought a tire changer for $29 with the 25% coupon that was sent out. How could I pay $195 for an add on. I can make my own for about $25
Not everyone can cut tubing, weld and powder coat. If you don't want one, don't buy one.
I have done it for around $37.5 including the duckbill. Steel in Canada is very expensive. Never welded in my life before. It's not greatest welding job but it does the job. You can do it.
Going back on, you need to sue the nubs just like taking it off or you risk ripping the bead on the rim edge.
Can you put the bar in the end of the square tube on the Autowerks part to get more torque and keep the bar completely out of the way of the tire?
You could if you wanted to.
The guy who designed it, a TH-camr himself, puts it in the end of the square. You can find his video on TH-cam where he designs this and uses it. He used to sell them for $279.00. Now he's selling them for $429.00. After you add the cost of the bead keeper tool, plus the harbor freight tire changer, you're $500.00 in. That's a lot for a DIY'er doing this every 3-4 years. Walmart charges $15 per tire and includes lifetime balance.
@@ptaweston $15 per tire IF you purchase tires from them. Add $10 per tire if you bring your own. That is $25 a tire if you bring your own tires.
But how whit this tool separate from rim?? When he started it was already separated from rim!!!!!!! Then what it’s????maybe on the video before I dint watched it anyway good video good
If you see the video the machine have a piece of pipe handle half way with that piece of pipe and other part he use to separate the tire my nephew have one
Anyone ever try reverse-mount wheels on this thing? I have not had good luck with those.
Thanks for the video!
Do you think that will work on ATV tires or is the duck bill to big? Thanks
It maybe to big I typically do atv tires by hand pretty easily. It depends on the rim size of the atv as well.
The duck head slides in and out to adjust for different size wheels. If the wheel is not too small, it will work well.
Clint , great video. Unfortunately Im seeing a 400$ price for that addition, I should just buy a higher end tire changer.
I will be offering mine for $195 soon it will be called the Blue Wolverine and will be on my website rennfix.com as well as eBay. it is portable and I will be demonstrating how to make a portable platform to us it on where ever you go.

Did the price go up due to duck bill and hardware?
Not yet.
i will not pay that price either when i only paid $42 for the main unit
I want to try make one also
Is your blue wolverine available to purchase yet I see it on rennfix says coming soon but also says you can buy it now? When you thinking it will be available to purchase?

My unit will be complete with cone AND duck head and be made out of more expensive aluminum material. I can't give an exact date yet but they are coming and when I'm ready I will be posting several videos everywhere, TH-cam, Facebook, Instagram, twitter, my website, don't worry, once they are out, you will know.
Clint Hightower taking too long over 7 months now
Did you say uclid?
Lol 😆 yes I did smh
Did
you give up on this project Clint?
Great! good job bro! Save $80.00 to $120.00 for set of 4 tires mount/balance. Save my family 10 years $12,000.00 we have ten cars
It’s only $20 per tire for mount and balancing in Canada. Not sure about the US.
Let me ask you what are you putting in your water bottle and how much of it are you mixing with it? I very much enjoyed your videos on this. As soon as all this virus is over with I'm going to order that kit for myself. Right now most places are not shipping anything out. I tried yesterday on eBay and Amazon to restock all of my carburetor parts kit stop for working on lawn mowers and weed wackers. It's just a little something I do on the side. I tried all my regular places first and they all told me they could not ship anything that they don't have the people there to do it. So now I'm going to put this on my list of things to pick up when things get back to normal.
That kit really made a huge difference on the way you were able to mount and dismount your tires. Look forward to seeing more of your videos.
I plan to do a video soon to ask my viewers if they would be interested in this mod if I started making it and offering it for $195.
I put a few drops of dawn liquid soap.
How do you break bead down with that machine

Way too expensive!
Whats the red dot for?
The red dot is a marker for getting the tire as close to being balanced as possible prior to being balanced.
Thanks! You explained that ,so well my adhd got it!
lol Thanks Old man, I'm an old man too lol :)
For $200 I'll buy it, why is it not available yet????
I'm tooling up for mass production, the tooling and jigs, fixtures, welding stations, power coating stations, materials suppliers, etc. take time before I release to the public ...
@@Engineerboy100 how close are you to making it available to buy? Otherwise I'm afraid I'll have to buy the more expensive one or make my own
@@Engineerboy100 also consider talking to chinese manufacturers on Alibaba or maybe even aliexpress from china, they are the chinese equivalent to ebay. You show them what you need and they can make it for a fraction of the cost without you investing in any machinery. So low cost, etc

Wow!! Ty.
Going on you still need to be over and under the nubs just as when you took it off. You're risking ripping the bead on a sharpish wheel otherwise.
Ok thank you, I will make sure of that in the future, good eye.
Great Video!!
How do U balance them?
For balancing to to 20:08 of this video th-cam.com/video/7pyPOk1JsgA/w-d-xo.html
you can buy a used tire changer for $500 , makes no sense to pay $400 for a $50 machine upgrade.
Good presentation!
How much the plastic remover
How do you get off the bead?
th-cam.com/video/lu1WZOFHFFY/w-d-xo.html
I guess that makes my $40 May tire machine look really good compared to manual labor
OK THAT'S LOOKS GOOD, BUT THE HARDEST PART OF DISMOUNTING A TIRE FROM IT'S RIM IS TO "BREAK" THE TIRE BEAD LOOSE FROM THE RIM, FRONT & REAR SIDE!!!! I NOTICED IN YOUR DEMONSTRATION VIDEO THAT BOTH BEADS WERE ALREADY BROKE LOOSE! SO MY QUESTION IS HOW DID YOU DO THAT?????

Awesome 👍
It is supposed to go clockwise not counter clockwise
Yes, I figured that out later. Counter clockwise off, clockwise on.
Clockwise approach would have saved you a ton of effort
I've never seen anyone do it that way and the angle of the duck head does not lend itself to a clockwise use it's not clear what you're trying to say. :o
Do you mean for the installation? I will try that, It make sense for installation.....
Funny how the tire changer is cheap from $60 to $80? But the actual smaller parts that REALLY help you are $399! 😂 I just checked on them now in 10/16/23 and that's what it's going for. This is 3 year's already.
You can get the whole set for 95.00.
Good video of a well demonstrated product. However, there were times when you had music or other background sounds interfering with the dialog which I expect is important to the demo.
Thank you for your comment, I will make sure the music does not interfered with the dialogue in my next video of my version that I will be made available much cheaper.
Kind of funny.. every video of this "machine/tool" the users forgot almost always at least one part of process. Some forget about to position the back end of tire in the deep groves.. some forget how to use the bar.. some scratch the tire with the cross fastener.. some don't use lube.. some don't use the whole bar for leverage, specially when "brake the tire".. etc.. etc.. This one forgot two things, on was to lube the tire and specially, the plastic cover.. it builds up resist-ants with the rim without lub, the other was to fasten the tire before the Luicid tool.
Clever device and appears well done but seems unnecessary. It did not appear to save time when you consider the time to attach it. I've been mounting tires for over 60 years with manual tire changers, sometimes only by hand with tire irons, and lately with a HF tire changer and have never felt the need for such a device. It's all about technique.
It's a lot easier and the plastic duck head is safe for nice aluminum wheels. I've change tires both ways on cars and big rigs and this is by far the easier method.
Spray some soap wateron the bead for lubricant
