- I have developed a tire changing system to change tires on alloy rims without damaging them, both for motorcycle and car rims using the same Duck Head tool arm. Using the Harbor Freight Manual Tire Changer with the Motorcycle Tire Changer Attachment

Hi Keith. Thank you for making this kit. Also thank you for taking my call once I received it and tried it out. Fantastic unit. Well made the kit and video. As you said if it is hard you are doing something wrong. I was able to change tires in moments. Not even minutes! Tube tires take a bit longer just because putting in the tube takes a bit of time. (Super moto). My GSXR tires fell on the rims. Not a mark. Wow! To any one watching this just get it. Get the tire irons too. Wow are they a time saver. I will be buying more of those soon. This makes it so worth having. Mine is bolted to my garage floor when in use and removed and stored when not in use. So far I have done 5 sets of tires. My local shop charges $50-75 with tubes to remove and mount. Balance is extra. Do the math. If you work on more than one bike get this ASAP. Great tool, design and guy behind his product. Thanks man. Heading out to attempt first putting tire on with duck and tire changer. Took off manually. Ugh! I'll be back to see what mod's I gotta do. Love the wheel stop and not using other clamps.
Great job on matching the tire indicator with the air valve steam.
If you are watching this video, I beg of you not to over look this very important step like he did.
On every tire, their is an indicator showing exactly where to match up you air valve.

Quite brilliant! My system is a NoMar CH200 which has a similar base but no anti spin bar or duck. Mine uses a bar with a no scratch tip to remove tire but I can see your Duck is way more durable, however, I believe I can install a anti spin bar by mounting a pipe onto the base by using a steel pipe and simply slipping a piece of Schedule 40 over the steel pipe to protect the spokes. Thanks a lot it gave me some good ideas!
the “no mar bar” still rubs on your rim, if you have a nice custom paint job on your rims the nomar bar will still scratch it, the duck head never touches the outside visible part of a rim

What do you do with that wheel brace post on a wire spoke wheel? How do you lock it into place to change the tire?

Very nice system you built there. Have you tried the Rabaconda duck head? It's a little smaller than the red one and seems to put less stress on the tires, both removing and installing. If you try it, make sure you get the standard one of the 2 available.
When you install the tire you're supposed to use the other end of the duck head and go clockwise, it works a lot better. Nice kit, thanks for posting. I might order your kit it looks very well designed. 👌
I've watched a number of the commercial vehicle tire changing videos using the duck head and you are correct about using the other side of the duck head but his direction is correct.
Did you make all those parts yourself or is there some place they can be ordered?
I have motorcycles and cars. Would I buy both kits, the car kit and the moto kit? Thanx and great videos
Hello, you have any idea where to get the motorcycle adapter with the three legs...I have the bottom part from Hrbor Freight but they dont seem to carry the motorcycle attachment anymore.
Better I would think going back on to put the exact same position on the duckhead and go the opposite direction. No hang up on the bead and sharp angle for it?
8:18 Over and under for putting the tyre back on, at this point the tyre is under both bits of the duck head.

What size and thread count bolt did you weld onto the bottom of the 3/4" rod used for motorcycles?

The thread inside the HF stand is M20 x2.5mm pitch I believe.
I have an older hf model and the only thing I could get to match the threads down inside was 7/8-5tpi acme which is just slightly to big for 20mm bearings so I am going to attempt turning it down slightly in hopes I can still make a Tire machine centering cone work well with it as well for regular car and truck tires to early to tell but thanks for the video very nice and simple build I like it👍
Great video! Would this setup work on tires with tubes or only tubeless?
It works on tubes. There is less chance of pinching the tube with the lever as you only use it once to get the bead up onto the duck head.
If you have a rim clamp either loosen it all the way or/and position it on the half of the rim opposite the half that the duck head travels around. (like you do with the valve.)
They don't sell this motorcycle attachment any more, at least at the HF near me.

For what these kits cost you may as well buy a used No Mar unit, or new Cycle Hill unit.
????? Just made mine it's almost the same but better, made it like the regular tire changer excet 4 center holding stem :) welding is such a money saver
I just had local dealer changer my tires. $$$$$$ I supplied the tires. ( Pirelli Diablo Rosso )
$ 200 some bucks just to change them............ I asked they said 40$ each if I took tires off the bike and 90$ each if on the bike. -=== FYI this was the same quite I got from another store ........ Seems like with this changer -- buy and use 1 time and you break even and then some.

When you put the tire back on, the tire is supposed to go OVER the first part of the duckbill, then under the 2nd part. You have the tire under both protrusions of the duckbill, which makes the tire rub against the rim as you install the tire 7:45

Yes it looks like they have discontinued it. But some stores still have stock.
There is one in my local store...
if only they improve the base unit to be more sturdy. The current harbor freight unit is very cheaply constructed.

you dont need a duck head. best way to not scratch or damage the rim edge is simply to turn the rim upside down with the face pointing downwards. Just cut a hole in a rubber mat and place it on the top surface of the harbor freight tire changer. When working on the backside it doesn't matter if you get some minor scratches
