    Good info and I agree. Thank you. I'm a retired saltwater guide and ran my boat for charter for 20 years. Solunar with tide alliegnment was hugh and I still track and use it today. Tight lines and Blessings!

    Wow, Gino, this is awesome. Back in the 70's I used to fish with an older man that always talked about the barometric pressure and it's effect of fishing, I never understood what he was saying until this video. Thank you so much!

    You are the first person to actually explain WHY fish do what they do before a storm. I had always thought the pressure and moon phases were bunk.

    I have an antique storm glass from my father in-laws work shop. It’s essentially a water barometer. Surprisingly accurate to predict fishing.

    What a great video. This is one of, if not the most informative fishing video I’ve watched in a long time. From one professional guide to another👊 thank you!

    Great information Gino, I have followed your channel for a while now. It's always been very informative and I'm looking forward to this new format. I live on Little lake Harris on a canal community I would love to talk further as there's much Information to learn. I also have questions about my electronics on a fairly new boat to me.

    Nice info👍🏻
    I had the perfect example of dropping barometric pressure yesterday 5/28/23 here in central WV we had a small front cross the state. Loaded up and hit the water, rain ended up missing me and I clobbered the bucket heads and they were extremely aggressive.!! One of the best days of fishing I’ve had this year.

    When I was tour fishing from 1999-2009 I always tracked this stuff and took notes during practice
    Such as
    Cover
    Sky conditions
    Wind
    Barometer
    Moon phase
    Then I would study it abd try to match it as close as possible to the conditions during tournament days.
    With all the technology these day it is things like this that have been forgotten yet will always play an important role in fishing .
    Great video
    First time watching one of your videos and I’ll be back
    Thank you

    In Lakes don’t forget too overlook the position of the plankton and food chain. Has factors too this too. Overcast what where wind is blowing directions how many days. Low light and wind raises plankton up in the water column wind pushes it. Activates feeding. Same time Low pressure

    I hunted waterfowl for nearly 40 years basically every day of the season. Unless I was fixing things. Like boats trucks guns decoys. My best times were when (( living in Minnesota)). Big Low pressure that’s going to be followed high pressure. During late early November moon phases. I remember beating everyone too the best spots reading the news paper by the moonlight 😀😀. Maybe I’m exaggerating. (( also depends on how cold 🥶 it’s getting. Those were the best days ever. And!! Nobody would be out there anyways because weather was so!! Nasty. But I could watch the cable weather channels. And start predicting it. On the spot. Takes time on the water. And years of experience

    Just started to learn about fishing. Interesting information. Though, I think science is very important. Lots of fish and hunting gurus out-there, who juat share wife tales and wild conjectures based on personal data bias. Just lets me know quickly if im listening to a quack or not. Thanks for something to look into further!

    Hey I’m very confused , been trying to learn more about barometer pressure systems . So many videos out there saying high with a strong frunt ? What’s the go

    • @GinoLosi
      @GinoLosi  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Download any app with a barometer or check local weather station as a storm approaches. It's will be crystal clear for you. Thunderstorms bring low pressure then the pressure rises once they past. This is 100 percent, I'm out here everyday.

      Hey Josh, your correct In what your saying, there is a heap of channels out there that have the physics back to front, Even if the theory of the swim bladder they go on is correct, the physics would say that as the pressure lowers less gas is needed to maintain bouyancy. They look at it as if the swim bladder expands as the pressure drops, but if you imagine a balloon under water as you remove weight from it the more buoyant it becomes, so to maintain the same weight you would deflate it. Hope this helps. As Gino said low falling is when you want to be there, cheers Greg

      Tidal fisheries are a different animal altogether, which I believe I mentioned in this video. I also mention that it is a guideline. There are other variables to consider. For instance, spawning fish, the will be there high or low pressure. I also explain how it will help. Too much to write.

    Sounds good and all but there have been many days where I have killed it and skunked out under both high and low barometric pressures.

      Yes. But you still found the bait/fish location accidentally that was working for those specific parameters.

    What was the take away knowledge?

  • @themanmike1
    @themanmike1 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Gino, there has to be more to this than that. Scientifically it is impossible for water to be compressed. Air can be compressed but water molecules can not be. If you are under the surface of the water you can not feel changes in air pressure because air can NOT compress water. I have heard in conversation but can't verify is that the air pressure either allows for or retards the release of suspended gases in the body of water. That the barometer doesn't affect pressure in the water but actually changes the composition of the water or the atmosphere of the water if you will. It would be like changing our air quality.

      Thanks for the insight. I'm just a fisherman, sharing what I've learned on the water and woods. Regardless of what triggers fish's change in behavior scientifically. I have personally witnessed this on a daily basis for a very long time. With that said, I agree that it is probably far too complex for my little brain to understand the exact science. Regardless of the exact science, all game and fish are absolutely affected by changes in weather. Correct me if I'm wrong, but changes in weather can be marked by changes in air pressure. Please understand that there are additional variables that also have great effects on fish's behavior, for example, tide, the spawn, water quality, fishing pressure, etc. Regardless of the science I can assure you this information is absolutely valuable. Try it. You might learn something of value that you can share with us. Thanks for stopping by.
