Guys.. Please watch the end of the video before passing comment. If you had you would realise that i know Parker falls behind the bit and i even go as far as talking about how i'm correcting that. I have broken and produced many horses. Parker has never been forced into an outline, he's naturally VERY light in his mouth, he has never been tied in. What i see is a young horse that is VERY recently backed learning to find his balance. Parker has been taught to ride on straight lines for a few weeks before entering the arena, the bends naturally make him more unbalanced and therefore results in him popping behind the vertical. This is one ride... i choose to share it on youtube to keep as a memory. I appreciate everyone's concern but he is a well looked after boy. He is now having a months break while i recover from a serious fall.
I was so happy to see that you tried to lift his head up during the ride and also to see you address it afterwards - soo many people likes the overbend and it’s really just a false feeling. So much respect for you! Parker seems like a wonderful youngster 🙏🏼
Parker is such a good boy :) he seems to have a very cool head for a baby (I hope it makes sense; English isn’t my first language!!!). He’s going to be incredible!!
Looking good! I'm not sure if you've already been suggested this, but he might need a different bit. What bit is he in now? Horses that are too active in the mouth with a bit usually means they're not fully comfortable in it - their mouths should be quiet with a bit they like. You have beautiful hands, it's definitely not a you problem and he looks fantastic under saddle but he might be even better and more settled in frame in a new bit - he keeps trying to pop out on the shoulder and back behind the bit when you ask for his frame. I ride all my horses in rubber covered mylers or just rubber mouthed bits, even my hard mouthed OTTBs, and they all seem to love them - my favourite is a rubber mouthed Baucher.
I love this ! His movement is stunning. For some reasons when horses go BTV they look heavy, but more often then not they're barely there and just hiding away. He is going to be super!
I don't comment often but just to say this was lovely to watch and so interesting to hear your kind and sensible thoughts behind his training, so pleased you're back on TH-cam 😊x
The talking part of the video was super interesting and not rambling- thanks for giving us all that info! I have a that is the same as Parker and he is overly soft in his mouth it almost feels weak and he overbends so much. Constant battle to try and get him to soften and loosen and open up.
Lovely to hear you explain your methods at the end and talk us through your reasoning. It’s great and you clearly sound like you are building a fantastic relationship with him xx
Dont you dare pull that forelock, the floof is so good! He has such presence. He's going to be quite something once he relaxes and starts to take the bit forward. I am in love with the activity of his canter. Please ramble more, your rambles are great!
Aw he's coming on so well! Looks like such a sweetheart, really nice attitude. Really enjoyed hearing you talking about him Ally, I like the way you produce your horses. I was going to mention that Parker's canter looks quite big; do you have any tips on how to sit a canter like that? I struggle with my boy's canter a bit x
New sub 💋he’s gorgeous your really lucky any tips for me I might be getting a horse in a few months I’m just trying to find the right one and need tips as you seem really experienced 😘
hes lovely ! and i do wonder why young horses alwaaaays fall behind the vertical. never seen one that didnt. such a bad habit, and a lot of riders never care to correct it :/
@@fantellerhur I would've thought so, especially if it's just that they're green or lacking strength. The pressure on the nose may in some ways make that worse as they're usually taught to move away from pressure so pressure on the nose would probably make them think they needed to go down and in to escape it 🤔
Young horses haven’t got correct muscles to carry themselves and the rider properly, their topline is often weak so it’s hard for them to collect, use their hind, use their back and ultimately carry their head. It requires a lot of balance as well which young horses generally don’t really have, they’re like uncoördinated kids hahahah. So of course riders and trainers want to encourage the horse to activate his body and work from behind forwards so they develop the muscle and find head carriage easier but that’s physically demanding and hard for them to do so they’ll evade the hand usually by either sticking their head up and hollowing their back out (this is more often with much greener horses) or going behind the bit. It’s all about developing the horse’s body and mind so they gain the ability and confidence to properly work and enjoy themselves :)
Because she’s clearly jumping huge great tracks on him🙄 if he didn’t want to jump he wouldn’t be and it’s not like she’s jumping him everyday, better for them to see everything when they’re young so it’s easier when they’re older
He is really handsome and his mouvement is just amazing, in my opinion you could make dressage with him too ! So cross too and eventing competition 😜 you make that you want but it’s just very cool ( excuse me, my english is not always perfect 😅😂 ) 💕

SparklyMariA thank you 😊
Aww! Adorable, Hope you two get along together ♥
hes lovely ! and i do wonder why young horses alwaaaays fall behind the vertical. never seen one that didnt. such a bad habit, and a lot of riders never care to correct it :/
Usually to evade the bit :)
I’ve also heard it can be neck strength thing in youngsters.
@@EquineAmoureux that makes sense actually. wonder if you'd get the same result in bitless
@@fantellerhur I would've thought so, especially if it's just that they're green or lacking strength. The pressure on the nose may in some ways make that worse as they're usually taught to move away from pressure so pressure on the nose would probably make them think they needed to go down and in to escape it 🤔
Does no one think she needs to loosen her reins so he can stretch?

NasenBäre Senior Horse Care I’m glad you said that. I love it longer :)
Hes lovely ... would be interesting to know his breeding?
phil1987 Zambesi X Cavaliere
his jump tho😀❤
He is so stinking cute!!
He is so beautiful 🤩🤩🤩
He's only 3 and you just got him. Why are you already jumping and to that extent?
Elizabeth Bjorklund it’s perfectly fine jumping these small jumps at his age. It’s not like ally does it daily and she knows what she’s doing
Because she’s clearly jumping huge great tracks on him🙄 if he didn’t want to jump he wouldn’t be and it’s not like she’s jumping him everyday, better for them to see everything when they’re young so it’s easier when they’re older
Elizabeth Bjorklund Isn’t he 4 so can do a little more work than a 3 yo?
Elizabeth Bjorklund he’s now 4 and will go out to mature in spring. Just teaching him the ropes before then.
He is gorgeous
Damm he’s gorgeous 😍
Tall and handsome! 🖤🖤
and please don't pull his forelock! It adds to his charm.
as my horse looks like a chicken nugget ;-;
Omg please don’t sell him ever he’s amazing!!!!!!
Such a lovely mover!
He is really handsome and his mouvement is just amazing, in my opinion you could make dressage with him too ! So cross too and eventing competition 😜 you make that you want but it’s just very cool
( excuse me, my english is not always perfect 😅😂 ) 💕
