I was actually gonna suggest cutting the back too lol. The way you left off I think it's gonna cock all the stuff from the input shaft and forwardmost part of the rotating assembly foward sideways and have it all cattywompus with reference to the crankshaft. So yeah I'd definitely agree with you on turning the back face to match

Good Morning. I hate a flogged stater. A nice flat surface, can actually be sealed. but not Ottered.

I did that with live center compond at zero check ✅ to see if the lathe is level don't forget the dive dog and you can use a 3 or 4 cuck but A 4 is better than a 3 Bobby
