What's really amazing is that by modern standards Idra looks absolutely tame. Compare him to the most famous toxic League streamers for example and it's so stark.
Damn the nostalgic feels... I miss those times so much, when I was 16 and nolifing in sc2 every day. While I wasn't playing I was either watching Husky or Day9. I cri evritiem
Thank you! I thought this piece of history was lost, we need to start downloading old SC2 videos for safekeeping I think, husky is gone, now idra being idra, who knows what will be next?
Absolutely, there was some talk about this on the starcraft subreddit, I believe that most of the old videos are still out there (I'm not 100% certain about this, however.), but from what information I have gathered so far, there are a couple of other missing videos (from the same channel that was deleted), here are some of them: 1. There was a video of incontrol apparently f2 + a moving his army, and then getting up from his desk, afking the game and winning. 2. DJWheat drone splitting video - DJWheat sees 3 banelings running towards his mineral line, he tries to pull his drones away, but instead stacks them all on his extractor. Needless to say, he loses all his workers and screams in pain. Note: The above information is from this Reddit discussion thread: www.reddit.com/r/starcraft/comments/ge4958/video_is_missing_idra_being_idra_a_compilation_of/ I am unsure if there are other videos missing out there, but since this IdrA video was one of my favorite SC2 videos of all time, I had to go through hell and high water to find this absolute masterpiece haha. I also used to play quite a bit back in the WoL days, so I had quite a bit of motivation (mostly in the form of nostalgia) to find this video. Luckily it was one of the more popular videos of IdrA (it had more than 1M views, I believe, in the original uploader's channel.), so I had imagined that there had to be a copy of this video somewhere. Luckily I was able to find it and here we are. As far as the other videos are concerned, I don't quite know the extent of their popularity or even if they were backed up externally at all, so I'm in the dark as far as that is concerned for now.

Using the word gay that way wasn't homophobic, that's just how the word evolved for kids growing up in the 90s/early 2000s. It just meant like "stupid" or "undesirable". It doesn't make sense in hindsight but that's what happened, homophobia was never the intention. Nowadays the opposite is true where everyone is way too uptight over words.
@@Neurotik51 Well yeah, we finally realized some people were always getting aimed by those harmless jokes and finally felt offended. This is evolution.
@@Neurotik51 You're either delusional or just incredibly privileged if you don't think that casually being homophobic was super common back then. There's a reason why "gay" was the go to word for something stupid or undesirable. "It doesn't make sense in hindsight but that's what happened". Nope, it makes perfect sense in hindsight, because a lot of people were homophobic back then. It wasn't even legal for gay people to get married in the US back then.
